The Masked Ball is This Week's Brawl!
At the SI:7 mansion in Stormwind they have a grand masked ball every year. Everyone is in disguise! When a minion dies, its disguise is revealed, showing the minion to actually be a different random minion that costs (2) less and ready for another fight!
Trivia
- This Tavern Brawl debuted on August 5th, 2015.
- This is the second time we've seen this Brawl.
- Out of the first 19 Tavern Brawls, this one saw the second-to-last number of games played, only beating the Banana Brawl.
- This brawl does not reward an Un'Goro pack.
How it Works
- Build your own deck!
- Each time a minion dies, it will be replaced with another that has a cost which is 2 less.
- This is achieved through a Deathrattle effect that each card will receive when it is played from your hand.
- If a card summons a minion to the field, you won't receive the Deathrattle enchantment on it and thus, no spawn on death.
- Cards put into play from the Deathrattle won't have the Deathrattle again.
- Transform effects won't have the Deathrattle.
- Minions must be at least a 2-drop in order to receive the Deathrattle effect.
Tips
- Baron Rivendare is OP here due to the effect being triggered by Deathrattle. Insane Value.
- Cards that on death summon a different minion also get great value here. Bring out the old Piloted Shredder or Piloted Sky Golem!

Discuss This Week's Brawl
Head on over to our Brawl Forums to discuss this week's brawl in the dedicated forum thread.
I wish I had him to test this out myself, does Spiritsinger Umbra summon a 2-drop because of his effect?
Doppelgangster is ridiculous in this brawl. All 3 of them get the deathrattle when spawned
This brawl wasn't bad at all on the night before the xpac. I just built a deck of all Paladin cards (for a quest) and Divine Shields were just getting a lot of value out of it. Or I could just be playing a worse deck then mine lol.
I won pretty easily. I made a spell heavy Shaman deck with Arcane Giants, Thing From Below, the 6 mana dragon whose cost is reduced for each minion killed this turn. High cost minions to bring out easily. It was fun.
The brawl doesn't work that way. The cost of the deathrattle minion is 2- the amount of mana you payed for playing the card, not the non-discouted value printed on the original card. If your thing from below costs 2 mana when you play it, you will get a 0 drop, not a 4
actually it does bro. i played against a handlock. summoned mountain giant. killed it and it summoned fucking deathwing. so yea it does bro.
Thanks to this brawl's pack I'm celebrating the Year of the Mammoth with my 2nd copy of the Angry Chicken.
the main disadvantage of this deck is the lack of deathrattles on 0/1/2 cost minions. Was kinda disappointing when filled the whole table with 2 mana cost minions and nothing happened after opponents board clear. ^_^
lol too late to play. If just released =easy win. Now everyone using net deck. I just hope my smorc deck can grab 1 win for free pack.
Not a big fan of this one :(
3 weeks in a row we get an un'goro pack as a reward from brawl.
The day before the expansion launch we get a classic pack.
That makes no fucking sense.
In the previous brawl there was sign "Thank you for celebrating YoM with us" so this promo period ended a week ago.
I played wild pirate warrior... won on turn 5... got my free dust... i don't feel bad for what I did...
Opponent conceded on turn two when I wiped his board after an all-in play in his part.
Got a Golden Nozdormu out of the free pack. Thank you Hearthstone Gods for the extra 1600 dust for tomorrow!
The only thing worse could have been Banana brawl with TGT pack reward, not sure if I'm impressed that Blizzard didn't do the worst choice possible.
free classic pack with a deathrattle nzoth reno priest in my first match, nothing to complain about... but i second that notion that they should have made a ungoro-preview brawl with premade decks... that'd been nice. premade decks with the quests for all classes for example...
Nah everyone knows we'll see that ungoro preview brawl with premade decks about 3 weeks before the next expansion comes out. Why mess with a good thing? :P
Yeah... If there is going to be a brawl like this, knowing Blizz it will be released in like 2-3 weeks, when all the hype and curiosity will be long over. :(
So much BabyRage in the comments section. Why do we care so much about what the opponent is playing? Brawl lets YOU build unique decks that should be better than the ladder meta. If people are playing mech mage and pirate warrior, get in there and steamroll them because you choose to take advantage of the brawl rules
