A Mammoth of a New Year is This Week's Brawl - It's Co-Op!
The party is here! Work together with another player to decorate the tavern and kickoff a grand New Year of Hearthstone.
Trivia
- This is a brand new brawl!
- The brawl is a celebration of the incoming new Standard Rotation, Year of the Mammoth.
- An Un'Goro card pack will be rewarded to winners of this week's brawl. This pack can be opened after Un'Goro launches.
- Party Crasher auto-attacks contribute to progress on the Deal 100 Damage to Enemy Heroes daily quest.
How it Works
- No deck creation this time, you get to play as either Valeera the Rogue or Malfurion the Druid - chosen at random when the game starts.
- If either of you get low, try and toss some heals out. Use them wisely!
- The game ends when one of you die. Don't die!
Phase 1
- Your initial goal is for you and your partner to decorate the party. You do this by using your Hero Power to add decorations.
- The Hero Power uses all your currently available Mana to go towards the decorations. In total, you must spend 25 mana together.
- In this phase, Party Crashers (4 mana 3/5 with Taunt) will spawn each turn. They attack face so deal with them.
- Once the party has been decorated, a Boss (Pinata Golem) will spawn. He cannot be targeted by spells.
- Don't use all your hard removal in this phase. The crashers are pretty easy to deal with and don't hurt as hard as they do in Phase 2!
Phase 2
- The boss spawns! He has 85 Health that you must take out together with your partner.
- Your hero power has changed! You can now spend 2 mana to deal 3 damage to the boss.
- The Party Crashers continue to spawn but now.. now they gain +2/+2!
- Do not under any circumstance fill your board. You want to have a slot open, otherwise, you get board cleared to make room the boss.
- Sometimes you will receive a treat when attacking the Pinata. These can help you draw cards, heal, or destroy Party Crashers.
- There is an AoE that goes out which deals 2 damage to everything that isn't a Party Crasher. Seems to happen either early on or later.
Discuss This Week's Brawl
We've got a thread up on our Tavern Brawl forums if you want to discuss strategies and such!
My stupid coop playersthat innstead to attack the boss he attacked a party minion instead winning we lose to 1 stupid move but ihave get a free card is that 1 time or
They should ban targetting on party crashers and they should give the pack to the person WHO DID NOT CONCEDE!
Great fun if you get a player who knows what's going on. otherwise it's not much fun
Wasn't bad. I prefer my rng to come in card form, not whether my 'teammate' grasps basic game concepts however..
Not a very difficult brawl. I went into it with no knowledge and the golem surprised me but we took it out with little issue.
Fun brawl, but only if you don't get a really stupid/troll partner.
Quite fun Brawl, wasn't expecting 2nd phase at first but had a nice player with me and we pulled it out first time. Then I played again as Druid for fun, and of course had to have an idiot who can't read it is CO-OP... Hehe when i just about made my Daring Reporter 12/12 while clearing the board and getting ready for 2nd phase (had really good hand to make him way bigger, plus had some big minions too on the board already) that troll Sap it!! Immediate concede! ;D
Exact same thing happened to me, my mind was clinically boggled.
Played as Rogue... Trade Prince Gallywix & Burgly Bully on board... & my opponent (ally?) has Naturalize... ooooh the value...
I was able to complete on my second go. I think it is a great way of entering the new year for Hearthstone.
Instant concede when my partner healed his party crasher. 6/1 wins though.
Wanted to finish druid daily quest, but Valeera kept popping up.
Oh my god, I had a Druid who used the bananas (from the King Mukla I played) on his gate crasher, SO MUCH TILT
Yeah... I was being a douche for about 3 hours. I would play great for phase 1, and when phase 2 starts, I'd buff the party crashers so my coop partner dies in 1 hit... hilarious really xD
Awesome brawl, just wish it was more clearly stated that it's a co-op (I know, I know, it literally says "work together")
Game 1 - initially I started playing to win, then realized what the goal/plan is and tried to save the opponent but it was too late :(
Game 2 - Luckily both of us understood what to do, and had a really cool help-each-other game (and basically kept the board clear of any party crashers in the 2nd half)
All in all, positively surprised by how different this was :)
it took the mechanics of two shitty brawls everyone hated and actually made a decent one with them
Pretty fun brawl. IMO much better coop then Mechazod was - it really pushes you to think about conventional cards in unconventional ways.
I.e. had to Shadowstep my own Party Crasher to give us an extra turn. Thumbs up, Blizzard!
This brawl confuses new players just like 18 deck slots.
I love the fact that the latest brawls reward Un'Goro packs, it's like a secret gift for the next expansion :D
Why does Blizzard not give us the option to play with a friend in this shitty tavernsbrawls coop -.- I would love them if we could try out without randoms which dont understand the brawl
Agreed, its really lame.
SMH, it clearly states that its a co-op but people presume its that terrible tavern brawl from a few weeks back. Regardless, tavern brawl against friends would be nice, further to that point, friendly arena would be nice too.
