So Argent Protector or this dude? He might not be bad. Works well in buffadin decks, and maybe a midrangy one. Very good in N'Zoth, the Corruptor decks too if you get a Redemption or Getaway Kodo.
Hydrologist into Getaway Kodo into Hydrologist into Getaway Kodo into useless infinite loop =]
if it gives you unlimited bodies it'S not useless. Also, if you run Yogg and arcane giant the valuemeter is gonna go off the charts :^)
Infinite value, not useless. Have you ever played the dragon priest mirror? Infinite value, you win.
Well, because Mysterious Challenger is rotating out of standard, blizz needs new pally secret synergy cards for pally secrets to have any chance of play
This card doesn't go in a secret deck. Allows you to have secrets anyway.
At first they need new strong secrets, because the only decent secret worth playing on its own was rotated out a year ago. Don't you really think that Getaway Kodo can replace Avenge?
For people debating what kind of Secrets this can get - remember that card text /is not behavior/ in Hearthstone, unlike other popular TCGs, because it's run by code rather than needing player interpretation of the effect. Blizzard does try to keep some consistency, but just looking at the default behavior of Discover won't necessarily tell you how it behaves when stolen. We'll have to see it in game.
(My personal guess is that it always provides Paladin secrets, just because that's how I would design it - it gives it consistent behavior across different classes, and in general these sorts of effects don't fizzle in Hearthstone, so it'd stop the possible priest/rogue problem.)
For God's sake, this card discovers a PALLADIN secret and NOT from every class!!!
It's a discover mechanic so it's already implied that you get neutral cards and/or cards from your class!! Since there's no neutral secrets you gonna get a PALLADIN secret, period!
Does Ethereal Conjurer say MAGE SPELL? No, it doesn't. Do you get spells from other classes? No, you don't!
*Flies away*
The question is not what type of secret a pally can discover, but what a priest or rouge who stole it will get from playing it, because when a priest plays Ethereal Conjurer, they discover a priest spell, not a mage one
I'm guessing that nothing will happen when they play this card.
So if this is generated by Megafin, the battlecry will not trigger?
However, if somehow gets summoned from Unstable Portal, it will indeed discover a mage secret.
Hahaha, this is definately my Card! I am a Hydrologist! I do this for a living! Maybe I get em for free :P
Thx Blizzard :)
Very nasty card in Wild, where Mysterious Challenger is headed, and a fine replacement for Mad Scientist, who only gives you a random secret from the deck. Not to mention that it doesn't interfere with the Christmas Tree that the Challenger sets up when you play him.
Mad Scientist thins your deck and pulls a secret of your choice while this one gives you a random one that you then have to play as well.
Discover means you have a chance to get what you are looking for, but then again how impactful is a single pally secret.
I think it's any class secret.
Because otherwise it would have to state "Paladin Secret" so it would be used by rogues and priests. Otherwise it would wiff.
There is also warrior that can get this from Grimestreet informer.
So I'm pretty sure it's any class secret for variance. Otherwise with all the 6 secrets for paladin in the game most likely this would almost all the time give what you want or pretty close to it.
Yay for more RNG zzzZ
You're totally right... exept for the fact that discover NEVER gives you cards from other classes.
Are you brain damaged.
Discover is only Neutrals and own-Class cards, with a higher weight on the latter. It is impossible to discover a Hunter/Mage secret with this card as a Paladin.
Yes, but that's a specific case where the text of the card "overrights" the discover basic rule.
