Heroic Brawl Returns Today!
The Heroic Brawl has returned this week so if you're interested in spending your hard earned gold before the expansion hits next month, you've come to the right place.
Trivia
- This is the second time we've seen Heroic Brawl.
- The brawl was first seen on November 16th, 2016.
- You are able to run the Brawl 100 times during the week. This is up from the original 5 which was announced.
How it Works
- Pay an entry fee of 1000 Gold or $10 USD.
- Build a 30 card Standard deck. Be careful, you can't change your deck once locked into the run.
- Play against other players, get higher rewards for more wins. (Full details below).
- Like Arena, once you've lost three matches, you're out!
- Also like Arena, the game tries to match you up with other players with a similar win-loss record for the current run.
Reward Structure
This Brawl has a special rewards structure which is much like Arena. It is very top heavy so unless you're hitting six wins, you're not even breaking even.
All packs rewarded from this week's Heroic Brawl are from Mean Streets of Gadgetzan.

Will You be Playing This Week's Heroic Brawl?
The last time we asked this question, 19,509 people answered with 19.58% of them (3,820) stating they would play Heroic Brawl.
Discuss the Brawl
Head on over to our dedicated discussion thread for this week's Brawl!
Community Brawl Decks
Find decks created by fellow community members! To those submitting decks, be sure to include proof of your win-rate with the deck!
Keep in mind that the last time this Brawl was active, Gadgetzan had not yet been released. Using old decks from past patches are likely not very good!
Try to get fund gold of players just before new expansion, force to buy new packs with $_$.
I was considering trying out The Brawl, since I have 4k gold saved up. But then I was made aware of the timing. So, no thanks. I will just use it for packs. Best of luck to those of you who try it out, though.
I am not skilled enough for a Heroic brawl anyway, honestly.
How come they don't have it as get the 50 packs for Un'Goro as the max reward with older packs as the continuous max rewards? And why is it standard, imagine some good old cards like Loatheb Antique Healbot even Annoy-o-Tron against these small early game minions and insane spells like Dragonfire Potion and Kazakus potions.
obviously it's for people to spend some of the gold and have less of it once ungoro actually hits
and if you were reading everything on this site carefully you'd know they already said they are going to do a heroic tavern brawl in wild format some time after next expansion
No thanks.
aight cya

First heroic i got 8 wins with Paladin.

I have to PAY money to play one of the WORST formats Hearthstone has ever with terrible prize payout. Thanks Blizzard.
I wish we could see a real statistic about how much gold was spent and how many packs received on every server. I say real because we all know Blizzard would lie when it comes to this.
Just finished a battle and got a free pack. Is this because of the Brawl?
Unfortunately, your points on this doesn't really make sense:
1.) If it is so simple then please explain it to us. Well, there was/is a demand for a tornament mode, but i don't really think that HTB satisfies this demand. And I can't remember that there was a demand for a Format with a average Gold return of 10 % (I don't know the numbers exactely. I calculated it the last time, but i forgot them by know. It might be up to 30%). The reasons why People Play it are different. One reason is that Blizzard is the only supplier and they can't choose what they get. The other Thing is, that Blizzards creates a demand by offering extremly high rewards. Based on the high rewards, People start making the decision based on Feelings rather then acting like a homo oeconomicus.
2.) "essentially crown the 'winners' for that expansion": Yeah, right. That is the purpose of it. That is the reason why it Comes so late. I thought you had economic classes. It is part of the Marketing strategy. The more Gold they get out of the System, the less Gold have the Player to spend them on new packs of the new Expansion and eventuelly they might have to spend more Money on the game. The old packs are not really interesting, the value of those already dropped. And nobody gets crowned at HTB anyway.
3.) 40 Dust??? Seriously? You talk about economical thinking and you calculate with 40 dust??? You rate the Minimum dust Outcome over the average dust Outcome? Why would you do that? Anyway, more important then the around 300 dust is the fact that many Players are excluded from this Format, because of the high entrance fee, which many can't affort. And even if they can afford it, it is a Hugh Gold sink for most Players and would be just a stupid idea to Play it. I get why this Players are mad about it, especially if it is so obvious what Blizzard wants to achieve.
I personally don't think that it is scam and i actually like this Format even though i don't Play for myself. However, i think that there is a quite greedy marketing strategy behind it with the Goal to get more Money out of it in a pretty cheeky way.
I agree with you but everything has easy haters. You can't take them seriously.
Constructive criticism: Heroic tavern brawl is too expensive for the risk.
Shit: Team 5 don't listen they only want money the suck ass fucking money hungry assholes why do you support them sheep?!
Well, to be honest i had my Problems to see how your answers fit to my Points, but it might be because i am not a native Speaker and i am not sure if i got everything correctly. However, i hope i got it right and here are my replies:
1.) People expected tournaments like the tournaments the pros Play in and which some Website organise also for Amateur Player. HTB is only constructed Arena with extreme entrance fee and extreme rewards Distribution. But if they make it like Arena why can't they use the same entrance fee and rewards structure? What would be wrong with that? Why does it has to be so extreme if there is not a certain backthough behind it?
2.) To which of my Points is your answer adressed?
3.) What is wrong with taking all packs into account? If you consider that other factors it can only increases the value of the packs. 100 dust on average is already based on the "worst case" that your Collection is complete.
4.) Well, that is one way to calculate it. Let us assume that your model is Close enough to the reality. Your findings are that for each active account 1,5 Pack has to be bought. There are more than 40 Million accounts, which are of Course not all active. Lets say 10 Millions are active. 1,5 Pack costs best case 1,5 Dollar. It is a Revenue of 15 Million Dollars. That is a lot and BLizzard definately considers that. Not to mention the pack they won't give away. Surely, it is not to easy to calculate it in that way, some factors Need to be taken into account as well. However, it should Show that it can really benefical for BLizzard.
In General, you just Need to take a look at the Actions and changes of BLizzard in the past and you can see that there where some greedy changes, which only benefited Blizzard. And actually it is not to hard to understand BLizzard Marketing strategy. Many Players are dazzled because it is F2P, not understanding that it is just a different concept, which actually can pay off even better. HTB fits just perfect into that scheme, and the time of the release speaks for itselves. Also the reward structure is just a psychological trick. Psychology is an important part These days in Marketing and Blizzard for sure has a good Marketing Department.
That you have talked with an economics doctorate doesn't say much. First of all it is more Business Administration. And second, i am a Business Administration doctorate and have worked for 3 years as science assistant at the University Holding a Bachelor in Administration, but i don't really know much about Business Administration to be honest :) . Because my main studies was math and Business Administration and economics is a very braod field. My phd Topic is much different from the stuff we learned in class.
incredible, only 75% on I did not play the first Heroic Brawl and will not play this one
dust or 10 Un'Goro packs ?
