The Best Standard Decks to Play After the Gadgetzan Nerfs

The Best Standard Decks to Play After the Gadgetzan Nerfs

Things have settled a bit after last week's shake-up which brought nerfs to Small-Time Buccaneer and Spirit Claws, so it's time to take a look at what's working right now for ladder play.

You can click on any of the decks below to go to a more in-depth guide to learn more about their playstyles. Also, be sure to share your experience and tips you have for these decks in the comments!

Pirate Warrior

Small-Time Buccaneer may have gone out of style, but Pirate Warrior is apparently here to stay! The deck's early game has without a doubt become worse but it's made some room for some later drops. Focus on getting those 1 and 2 drops in your opening hand so you can get that Patches the Pirate value.

Try the deck below or check out other flavors of Pirate Warrior.

Dragon Priest

If you're seeing a lot of Jade Druid, this is an absolute monster against it! You can handle aggro well while maintaining the same late-game that Dragon Priest has always been known for. Since it's doing well, you should give it one last shot in Standard since next month, Dragon Priest won't be the same thanks to the rotation.

Midrange Jade Shaman

Although Aggro Jade has taken a huge hit, Jade itself is here to stay for the time being.

Renolock

Much like how Dragon Priest is dying out next month with the rotation, this is your last chance to get some solid ranking on the Standard ladder with a favourite of the past year and a half, Renolock. Not much needs to really be said about this deck, but it has gotten better with Gadgetzan thanks to some nice counter-play via the random effects of Kazakus' potion and other control-oriented minions.
