The Positively Awesome Dragon Paladin Card Design Competition
Season 5 of our Card Design Competitions continues! This week, we're designing Paladin cards that interact positively with dragons.
The Scales of Justice - Season 5 Competition #9
This weeks theme comes from CheeseEatingSurrenderMonkey, whose "Il'gynoth" was the winner of our "Ready,Set..." competition.
Competition-Specific Restrictions:
- Your card must be a Paladin card (minion, spell or weapon)
- Your card must positively interact with Dragons (so no destroying Dragons, dealing damage to Dragons, etc.)
- Note that while your card (if it's a minion) doesn't need to be a Dragon, merely being a Dragon does not count as Dragon synergy
Submit Your Card Design Today!
Head on over to the submission thread to read the rules and submit your entry. Also be sure to check out this week's discussion thread.
Here is my card. Paladin has mostly buff spells so effect should be positive. Best results are Blessing of Kings or even Lay of Hands and worst is Hammer of Warth i guess.
Google is my best friend. Some people poke around on DeviantArt. Just use the search query "fantasy [whatever you're looking for] art".
a lot of these are from the old World of Warcraft TCG or Magic: The Gathering
Here is my entry: Maw of the DragonLord. A weapon wich gives you mana back when you summon a dragon.
A drake that could build up value in the long game if it can survive. Buff cards and divine shield cards have obvious synergy with it, and it can be a pain to remove even for some control decks.
At 3 mana this will basically attack 0 or 1 time, which makes it a 3+ mana 4/4... I'm not sure it's going to be good (+you have to have a dragon in hand turn 4)
i loved it but its too much OP
make it 10 mana, still OP
how about giving +1+1 or even +2 attack instead of overpowered divine shield?
This is a brainstorming based on Vilefin Inquisitor . I thought about paladin 'call the amry' effect like Silver Hand Recruit that you can see below.
*Edit because im dumb D;
You probably ment to say add 5 Health to each dragon in your hand
No, card effect is clearly defined. If you have 2 dragons in hand, u heal for 10. 3 dragons -> heal for 15 etc.
its a copy of my card T_T hope bringer
Ah sorry i take the idea for Alextrasza, however in WOW Alextrasza is the life bringer and i thought the effect would tie in with the theme of "life bringer" and paladin with there healing.
Or it's not a copy and it's a coincidence, it's hardly a truly original idea.
I like that this competition is brought to the frontpage. Perhaps it would be nice if the previous winner (Il'Gynoth) is showcases in this article itself without us having to go to the particular thread?
First iteration of the card was a complete mess. Anyway, it's a Windfury Harpy with Divine Shield, which should make the Windfury work. For that, though, you must be holding a Dragon. Otherwise, you get a 6-mana Yeti with a Dragon version of Tundra Rhino's effect, except much worse because it's tied to an Enrage, so the card itself will not have Charge (like Rhino does). I really like how I managed to make its first two effects (Divine Shield and Windfury) enable its Enrage. Suppose the shield's still up when your opponent passes the turn back; trade once to break the shield and a second time to enrage. If the shield's not up in your next turn, it should've at least helped your Windfury Harpy survive to do what it's meant to, plus having charging Dragons should be good. (Art from Dragunity Arma Mystletainn from Yu-Gi-Oh!.)
wow, didn't think it'd be that bad... whoops
