The Holiday Brawl Returns Feb 1 - Get the Winterveil Card Back
We're not sure what logic applies to this, but this week you'll get another chance at obtaining the Winterveil Cardback in the Gift Exhange Tavern Brawl! And don't worry, if you already have the card back in your collection you'll get a Classic pack instead!
Quote from BlizzardThe weather outside is frightful, but this card back is so delightful. The Gift Exchange Tavern Brawl is back, giving you the opportunity to add the fanciful Winter Veil Wreath card back to your collection starting February 1.
All you have to do is win one match in the Gift Exchange Tavern Brawl, and the card back will automatically be gifted to you. Already an owner of the Winter Veil Wreath card back from last year’s festivities? Winning a game in the Gift Exchange Tavern Brawl will reward you with a Classic card pack instead!
The Gift Exchange Tavern Brawl is only available for one regular Tavern Brawl week, so unwrap some fun in Hearthstone for you (and your opponent) soon!
It's typical blizzard style..... Give out "exclusive" and "collectible" items to keep the dedicated players happy. Then, after some time, give away all the same exclusive stuff for free to the cry babies who whine about not having it.
Winter. Snowflakes.
I am glad you did. :)
Ahhhh, the babyrage in this thread is off the scale. I can't believe how butt hurt people are about a card back. But then again this is the Hearthstone community, so yeah.
Just in time for the....holidays............oh.
And new players now will get even less packs in order to compete! *sighs*
And you say after all the cries about not getting this super-rare card-back.
I think they'll try to do this to the other cardbacks aswell, "Better give the new players an old cardback, Oh and let's not forget about our old and devoted players who still play to this day, let's just give them a pack".
Next my
pandariarainbow cardback will have no value at all, and then not even 50 clasic packs as compensation will sufice (since I already have all of the important cards). I know they said that they'll try to give players another opportunity to take the old cardbacks but come on.. that's a bad ideea. Why would new players even want those? Because they want to collect everything? M8 this is a cardgame, You can't have everythingThe whole point of having a cardback is to show the other people what you have acomplished in the game. What have you acomplished if you own this cardback now? Basically nothing. I'm not very mad that they made only this cardback available again, but from what we've seen in the past from Blizzard, mistakes were made multiple times. Tell me now, do you really want old cardbacks to be collectible again?
Ok, so what you are saying is that getting to legend is a big and hard achievement? nope, there are plenty of discussions about this, you have to either be good or play a lot to get to legend. Even Kripp made fun of some people who used that cardback, having plenty of things to say about how easy it is to get there (don't remember exactly when)
Then what's the point of having cardbacks in the first place if not to show when you started playing/what you achieved in the game. Besides there are bigger cardbacks like Tespa or the golden chinese one, those should be considered big achievements.
I wouldn't consider Tespa an achievement. It is rare, yes, but the achievement is having joined a regionally exclusive gaming community wich costs a membership - or straight buying a code from ebay for a ridiculous amout of cash
Well this card back no longer has value
It never had any "value" to begin with. In a traditional sense anyway.
I don't know what to say other than that you are mathematically incorrect.
The less common an item is the greater the value. More of the item, less value.
Old cars are an example of this.
Well, I doubt you could have gotten anyone to buy your account from you simply because you had the Winterveil card back. It may hold some sort of personal value to you. But the value that you have placed on a digital commodity that has no in game advantage does not mean that the item has real intrinsic value.
