Hearthstone on Android Gets Smaller! Optimizations & No More Wasted Space

Finally. FINALLY! Hearthstone has been optimized on Android to make the install size smaller. Promises of improved patching in the future are also noted in the update notes. It's possible future content will come right off Blizzard's CDN as we saw in this post a few weeks ago.

The initial download from Google Play for the update is 12 MB.
Once you open the app, Hearthstone will download 1.1 GB.
iOS performed better than Android, they intend to improve both platforms.

Here is what I am curious about. They show the update being through google play, which most people use for android devices. However, if anyone takes advantage of the amazon coins, they probably install HS through the amazon app store so they can purchase amazon coins and buy packs at a cheaper price. So my obvious question, is did they only "update" this for the google play store, or did the amazon app store also get this upgrade?

Edit: I only have hearthstone installed through the amazon underground app store, not through google play. I do not see an update, unless it automatically did it and I didn't realize it. When I look at my internal storage on my phone for the hearthstone app, it says it is 4.74 GB in size currently. It says Total 4.74GB, App 1.16GB and Data 3.59GB with Cache at 1.48MB.

TL:DR I wonder if this was applied to the amazon underground app as well, or only to google play.

Not sure if this was already said, but clear your data and cache before opening hearthstone and updating. on my Android 6 the first install crashed, and after clearing data and reinstalling it worked, but I had to download the patch twice (because the data is the patch).

Which, again, still reduces the card sound effects.

Just to clarify the earlier request since I tend to agree with it:
-Disable background ambient voices
-... without affecting card sound effects volume
-... without affecting music volume

the point is: when you download an app from the playstore, you download the package, and the package is decompressed, but not deleted, so you download 1,5GB apk, and decompress for another 1,5GB, consuming 3GB of data, if the pack is only 12MB the wasted space is reduced

And though the initial update is 1.1 GB, that doesn't mean subsequent ones will be.

that is still shit for a game that make so much money for a so little cost, they should also before anything reduce chargements and improve quality of the connection that make the game almost unplayable 50% of the time

Any connection issues are on your side buddy. I play on shitty wifi at work at it works extremely well. Stop exaggerating for the sake of exaggerating.
