What's on Your Hearthstone Wishlist for Next Year?
Hearthstone Game Designer, August Dean Ayala, took to Twitter yesterday to ask the community what they'd like to see from the game next year.
So HearthPwnians, what stuff do you want to see from the game next year? Personally, I'd love to see more of the developer insights series that Ben Brode started and I won't even be picky about who you put on.
Overwatch's Game Director, Jeff Kaplan, does pretty regular updates for that community and they're filled with insight. Talk to us about some upcoming content, even if its vague. Provide us with interesting stats here and there - don't be afraid to release stuff like that. Or hey, I know this sounds crazy, but maybe you guys could even use that blog for updates that aren't guacboi.
Quote from @IksarHSWhat's on your Hearthstone wishlist for 2017?
"planeswalker" points =)
Something useful for paladins.
Make hunter playable.
Achievements please
Caemina78, don't we already do? Do you mean more achievements?
Achievements? Where?
actually since they got rid of the Ol'Murkeye and Parrot rewards there are not very many interesting achievements beyond the ones you accomplish naturally from playing. There's plenty of forum posts giving suggestions of cool achievements; although they've added those new sets of daily quests, those take some of the ideas...
Small minion Priest with Taunts.
Two Brawls with overlapping periods at the same time.
Long term progression for Arena players.
That Arena "flavor of the week/month" that was talked about at some point.
40 card Arena drafts with editing afterwards (maybe as one of the "Arena flavors")
More deck slots and "clone deck" option.
At least some basic stats for specific decks.
More "highlander" cards
Stop printing insane 1mana minions that close games by turn4.
You'd think that after cards like Undertaker or Tunnel Trogg they would have learned this lesson already, but nope. Still printing them.
In-game Conquest/LHS and Tournament support.
Reworked Ladder system. Current system is unbelievably bad for Legend-rank players. Switch from monthly reset to permanent MMR/ELO seems good. Even in ES:L ladder implemented better!
Less number of powercreeps in future sets. Yes, it's bad for sales. But lack of balance in the game is bad for sales too.
Don't nerf cards.
if only half of these wishes were real Hearthstone would be a wonderful game
Sit-and-Go style tournament play. MTG Online is garbage, but the one thing it has right is that you can sign up for a tournament with in-game currency, and play a tournament (with card packs going to the winners) and just play it once a fixed number of people sign up. The arena and heroic tavern brawl do not closely enough give a tournament experience, so people have to turn to crappy third party tools to run tournaments.
MTGO has tournaments of all formats, sizes, and buy ins. It's the only feature that sets it apart from Hearthstone, and if HS can figure out a way to let players pick the format, tournament type (Conquest, LHS, etc), size, and entry fee, they will find themselves head and shoulders above their closest competitor in terms of quality.
Deck tracker, tag team mode, tournaments perhaps?
One wish to rule them all: Cards that has a better way to stop quick matches, and lenghten the game. Maybe a new game mode with special rules for fun and rewards, happy new year for all of you guys on hearthstone and for all of the Hearthstone staff :)
Bring back control decks. Jade decks (rogue, shaman and druid) klled all control decks since you will, definitely, run out of answers. Or just nerf Jade Idol or Aya Blackpaw. Honestly, even the battlecry and deathreattle mechanic is complete OP, add it to the jade uproar. Terrible.
Give us the 2 hero clases: DK and DH. How to obtain them: get either one golden hero or a three 60 level hero. How to get the cards: basic to level 10 and new expansions will fill the rest or do an adventure focused on getting those cards. Will thet be OP: maybe. Will we cry about it: totally.
I want Blizzard to stop murdering combo decks for no reason other than that they are combo decks. I've been loving Kripp's Chancy priest, and I don't want it to suddenly disappear. The pieces will rotate out, so fingers crossed there is no nerf.
Really, I want them to bring back skillful plays. You either vomit out your hand on curve, or hope for boardclears and heals so you can vomit out big minions. None of the archetypes require any skill to play. I miss decks like handlock that required lots of skillful health management. It'd be nice to see a return to that.
Also somehow fix the going first discrepancy in Arena, it's practically a coinflip on whether you win or not.
A Warlock alternate hero and golden borders for golden alternate heroes. I don't buy the whole "layer blah blah, complicated blah blah" stuff.
There are a number of really solid suggestions here, but I am already getting what I want next year when Reno Jackson rotates out of standard.
Same here, thank goodness too. No more getting rich.
we got an aggro player over here.
I'll switch to wild, no control without a reno
