Getting Dirty with the Grimy Goons - Our Favourite Grimy Goons Decks
Them be fightin' words! Surely not every member of the Grimy Goons is going to be happy, but everyone must have their favourites. We're in a very fortunate position as we can hide behind our keyboards and go through plenty of proxies so we can't be backtraced by those goons.
The Grimy Goons theme involves interaction with your hand. They like to catch their opponents off guard and get as much value as possible. With that said though, we've got a long way to go as the archetypes have not yet been really fully fleshed out yet. The decks are typically slower than some of the other stuff we're seeing out of the other families which isn't very positive.
With that said, we've still got some great decks you should check out to experiment with the goons! Check them out below and head on over to their deck guides if you wan to learn more.
If you're playing something else with that Grimy Goons flavour, share a link to your list in the comments, and even better, write a deck guide to teach people how to play your creation!
Aggro Buff Hunter
This deck goes with a beast synergy hand buff rather than global. Trogg Beastrager, Smuggler's Crate, and Shaky Zipgunner is how you'll be buffing.

Grimestreet Buffadin
This one is a fun deck, though it may not get you to legend. Plenty of card draw to get a nice big hand to buff through your hand-buffing minions and spells.

Buff Taunt Warrior
One could say, I Know a Guy. The improvements to Taunt Warrior through Gadgetzan have been incredible.

GoonzzzzzzzZZZZzzz
Hmm seems I'll have to experiment a little with a buff aggro paladin cause I don't like this one
No love for Grimy patron/doppels? I love playing this deck and smashing aggro. Too bad its almost auto lose to priest and mage :/
I think the deck recipes were better than these to be honest lol
i never really had trouble with handbuff
side note i like pirate rogue better than warrior
Goones hand buff so bad
Now only work pirate warrior in meta...
Grimy Poos? Who are they? I thought the 3 gangs were the Kabal, Jade Lotus and... Pirates.
Buff is good when it just smashes face
like this
Its not an Rank 20 deck maybe you are an rank 20 player so l2p.
i remember when people defend don han cho and the goon faction saying a strategy boring but effective Kappa LUL
It is effective but the other decks are to strong for them. They got smashed my the PW or in the Control Game by Jade Decks and the other Midrangedecks have to many good tools.
Hand buffing is actually okay because you keep your minions higher than the mana curve, which is really sweet, but I don't think paladin needed to buff his whole hand to be competitive.
I wish they gave this to hunters instead. The problem with the "buffing ONE minion in your hand" is that mostly you want it to buff a strong minion, but those minions were already prime target for removal.
Sure, you get a 10/9 Savannah Highmane but this card would already be Sapped or Entombed or Mulched either way. Why does it matter? You're just losing value and for me that is the problem with the Grimy Goons. Buffed minions don't really do much unless you can buff ALL OF YOUR MINIONS and keep playing above curve. But differently than Jade decks that can always find more and more ways to summon more jades all the way and beyond fatigue, the Grimy Goons have a very limited number of hand buff cards (some of them weak, like wtf is Hidden Cache? In what world is this good?) and by the end of the game they are also out of cards to buff themselves as if you go minion heavy you lack draw.
Warrior and Paladin try to fix this by adding Loot Hoarder's and/or Acolyte of Pain at least.
This faction was a miss in most ways, especially since aggro preys easily on them.
bad deck.
too slow vs aggro deck and also bad vs control deck. ie: reno type deck.
dont me tell hunter are bad after i opened 2 legendaries and use the 800 dust to craft a hunter deck
sorry to tell hunter are really bad.
draw dependent. good start . unstoppable. auto win , draw bad =auto loses especially when u skip first 4 turn due to bad draw.all spell or high cost minion etc. zero come back mechanic.
aggro and reno deck also hard counter hunter unless they draw terrible hand.
i play a hunter deck you can say that's handbuff beast hunter deck it's not that bad excpet against some warrior pirates i have only 4 cards that costs 5 or more (x2 tundra rhino and x2 savanah)
but you need to play with diffrent style against every single deck and unleash is great comeback card with hunter mark
hunter is not in the top of the meta but still better than rogue i guess
Dude Rogue is like the best class this expansion... All of its archetypes are legendworthy. Hunter is definitely not the worst, though. Paladin's hand buff cards don't really work with the rest of its archetypes.
Hunter still has secret, and that alone makes it viable.
My Miracle Rogue has 70% win rate on rank 10. Hunter is just awful - you struggle against every popular archetype and you are so dependent on your lucky draws. Nothing new for Hunter really works, compared to other classes - maybe some old agro-deck do.
Totally agreed. Rogue is on top - it has pirates, it has jades, it has even stealth. Hunter is just not really good with new cards.
i think rogue at least need a card that just heals him for 4 or 5 rogue are pretty easy if you play so much minions and go face cause you will never excpet a heal card or taunt
To make rogues as much overpowered as Midranged shaman last season? So every imbecile can play it? Please, don't. Rogue wins games as it is. Same can't be said about Hunter.
