Kripparrian Could Have Killed Hearthstone.. By Disenchanting Dupes
Our friendly neighbourhood Ben Brode was out on a stroll this evening on reddit and let us in on an interesting bit of knowledge.
Kripparrian could have killed the Hearthstone servers!
How so? Apparently when you have as many cards to disenchant as Kripp, more on that in a moment, the servers simply would not have been able to handle it. Ben Brode says they're probably okay now though since TGT, when the engineers did some fun stuff with pixies and magic.
Quote from Ben BrodeThere was a point in time (pre-TGT?) when, if he had hit the button, he would have brought down Hearthstone. Thanks to the hard work of our engineers, we are probably ok now.
fingers crossed
Why Does Kripparrian Have So Many Dupes?
Kripparrian has amassed a crazy collection of duplicate cards on his quest to a full golden collection. He doesn't want to disenchant anything until he is able to craft them all in one go, and according to his updated spreadsheet, he's actually not that far off.
Reddit user drac72 predicts he needs to open around 700 more packs to get the needed dust, which is going to run Kripp somewhere around $600. Good luck Kripp!
Find Kripp on Twitch
You can tune in to his stream over at Twitch.tv/nl_kripp.
Holy Kripp! That's a lot of dust O.o
...
Have you ever watched Lifecoach stream?
Why wouldn't you just do it in parts.....
In case of nerfs/card changes, you get 4-8x the dust and if you have more than enough dust to craft whatever you need in normal, why would you ever disenchant your whole collection before a nerf? His goal is too achieve all golden, so why not use the most efficient way to achieve it?
I probably disenchanted golden cards that have later been nerfed and lost several thousand dust that way, just to be able to craft a few cards earlier. I'm not like Kripp though. I have to disenchant cards to get playable decks early on in expansions since I unpack only ~80 at the start of the expansion.
If I had as much dust over as him, I'd have waited with disenchanting as well.
every card that hasnt been crafted yet that you open in a pack gives you a net positive amount of dust, if you craft Don Han'Cho and immediately open it in a pack, you have to dust it, and you have lost 3/4 of the 1600 dust value
But I mean, if you're only opening Mean Streets packs you're never going to get a GvG card, so you'll never "lose" that dust.
What did we do to deserve Kripp?
YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE ANAKERINO SKYWALKERINO
Disenchanterino Dupperino Kripperino confirmed.
What is it you want Kripp? Money? Fame? Power? A perfectly balanced card?
Do you know much arena this guy plays?
full gold collection D:? woah! hope im not playing when he reaches his goal xd!
Welp, I'll have to make sure not to be playing when Kripp reaches his goal; both to not have my game possibly crash and to see what happens on his side.
Exactly lol, hopefully twitch warning in advance too
$600 is chump change for Kripp, bringing in 20k viewers a night.
i been watching kripp since beta his good arena player he used to do all day long 12-0/1/2 arena runs, he surely bought some packs but most of his dusts from arena rewards etc
He buys over a 1000 every expansion...
that was just this expansion, he only opened around 600 in WoToG
