Kripparrian Could Have Killed Hearthstone.. By Disenchanting Dupes
Our friendly neighbourhood Ben Brode was out on a stroll this evening on reddit and let us in on an interesting bit of knowledge.
Kripparrian could have killed the Hearthstone servers!
How so? Apparently when you have as many cards to disenchant as Kripp, more on that in a moment, the servers simply would not have been able to handle it. Ben Brode says they're probably okay now though since TGT, when the engineers did some fun stuff with pixies and magic.
Quote from Ben BrodeThere was a point in time (pre-TGT?) when, if he had hit the button, he would have brought down Hearthstone. Thanks to the hard work of our engineers, we are probably ok now.
fingers crossed
Why Does Kripparrian Have So Many Dupes?
Kripparrian has amassed a crazy collection of duplicate cards on his quest to a full golden collection. He doesn't want to disenchant anything until he is able to craft them all in one go, and according to his updated spreadsheet, he's actually not that far off.
Reddit user drac72 predicts he needs to open around 700 more packs to get the needed dust, which is going to run Kripp somewhere around $600. Good luck Kripp!
Find Kripp on Twitch
You can tune in to his stream over at Twitch.tv/nl_kripp.
Imagine if Rania just had enough one day, came in, and hit the button, ending hearthstone... for a couple hours anyway.
Yeah to much dust, dupes, etc but he still don't know play HS xDDD stomping ppl in rank 20-15 xDD
more like he is a arena player
and has hit Legend more than once.
No only once. And when he did it some ppl were streamsniping him and conceded in a winning position to let him win around rank 1-2
No, more than once. He has stated on stream he's reached Legend before. The time you're referring to is his more recent public ladder climb where he did it to shut a group of people up who said he couldn't hit Legend. He tried explaining he's done it before (back in pre-naxx/fight night days) and finally got sick of constructed, so he switched to full time arena, but people didn't want to hear it. So he played a ladder deck and made Legend. Also, if people conceded in a favorable position, it really doesn't change that much. It's not easy to get to rank 1 to begin with, and you can't put an asterisk next to every match that didn't go 100% full. If so, you'd have to put an asterisk against everyone, including yourself, who has come across people who disconnect, auto-concede, etc. It doesn't affect your rank that much when win-streaks are no longer a thing after rank 5. You still gotta grind.
Someone has to go back and time and tell Kripp to press the button pre-TGT.
Kripp would become the Darklord.
I don't think this is Hearthstone news to hear about, a comment from a developer about some skill-less no life who plays Hearthstone for a living. Who gives a shit. This is not news.
Way more interesting than your post for sure.
lol someone is a teeny bit envious
Well done kripp, we avoided dooms day
He's already killing hearthstone by showing his greasy face!
End it all.
it knows the number but shows 9+
Its funny cuz he never uses golden cards on standard like kibler or amaz
No, he use few golden but most of the deck is regular
Geez, I thought I had a lot of gold cards. I've got 739 gold cards out of a possible 1970 possible. Apparently, I only need 1,172,400 dust to complete my gold set. :D

The numbers for the packs needed do not appear to be correct. 105 dust/pack is a lot closer to what you can expect over many packs than 200/pack. Yes, that's what the original poster said, but he didn't respond to or correct his post when challenged on this in the third-most upvoted top-level comment. Even if Kripp did get 200 dust/pack for 100 packs, the average over more packs brings that number down. He is close, but his goal is further away than what's being presented. I am very experienced with dust.
He gets closer to his goal whenever he unpacks a golden card he doesn't already own, this is probably accounted for in the calculation.
