It's that time again - time to vote for a winner in our weekly card design competition!
This past week's competition required our competitors to design a new keyword and three new cards that make use of it. Keywords were required to be original and needed to have a short definition much like the keywords of Hearthstone today.

There are no words for how much I want Vortex (or any other form of it) to be in the live game
If I may ask, what makes you think Insight is broken?
I think the problem is the mechanic description does a poor job of actually describing the mechanic. If you just read the text on this post, it sounds really broken. But once you look at the cards, and see that you can only play specific cards (rather than any card from the class) it seems a lot more reasonable.
Imo the best are:
Deception, Vortex, Last Stand, Ambush and Share

I like specially meditate and defend, and see a great chance in Last Stand, when the 7 is took out of the definition and we make Last Stand work the same way Overcharge works, so that there could be cards with "Last Stand: 20" that have an effect when your health drops below 20, and Last Stand also for 17, 15, 10, 7, 5, or whatever the number (so long as the effect is balanced, for sure).
Vortex is interesting, kind of a "taunt for spells", but could be really really broken. it would require testing :D
Meditate
Meditate is amazing! Simple enough to understand, but with a ton of possibilities. Just imagine a yeti with meditate: "gain 4 health". So much decisions behind that vanilla card and even the possibility to bluff - "he did not kill my small minion so he probably plans to flamestrike me next turn" etc. Really thing the game needs something like this to expand the design space.
However I would change it to "Does something when this minion does not attack even though it could this turn." Otherwise the effect seems bit uninteractive (see pre-nerf Nat Pagle) and if you want (as a designer) a card to do the effect on the turn it is played, just give it charge as well. Also makes freeze work on those minions and demands that they have at least one attack, but that seems manageble.
1-Echo: Damn awsome, this can make low cost cards slightly better when draw on late game, or insane value for high cost minions/spells. Love it!! Wonderful opposite to "no duplicates"
2-Meditate: Nice mechanic for metagame/strategy. You need decide if go for tempo or value and also make opponent decide to kill or avoid that minion. Really nice!
3-Vortex: Excelent tech mechanic, a minion that can protect others minions from removals or even protect your own face it's insane, may even broken
4-Defend: Looks interesting but I dont get exactly how it works. Can someone explain it?
The Defend mechanic means it only has that effect when it's your opponents turn.
For example, one of their cards said: Defend: Has +1 / +1 and Taunt. Which means it gains those buffs only on your opponents turn.

Vortex FTW
Meditate has been floating around the community in one form or another and I've always really liked the idea. Fullas Games even did a lovely video about a year ago (not exactly the same version, but, pretty similar) when showcasing ideas for a Monk class. Even gave the
Monk a Meditate Hero Powerfor synergy (edit: Forgot what the exact mechanic was, the monk got a special Interface to display Meditate cards effects and not a hero power). Made a pretty good case for it in my opinion if standard Blizzard balancing and polish were applied:Defend is amazing
I really like the ''Last Stand'' one. It would be nice to have an effect like that against aggro decks.
Sure! "Last Stand" is my favorite too, somelike as "summon a Taunt from your deck".
Thelesis not only copied my concept (functionally), but also the name. You can find proof in the discussion topic.
Echo, Defend and Meditate are so cool
First, I have to say that MOST of these are better than the content in the coming up expansion. HS team, take heed !!!
Secondly, I'm sad that my "Mindmeld" keyword didn't make the top. I hope at least that someone liked it :) .
Share seems fun and Meditate seems interesting for me.
