Reveal Post
Quote from BlizzardAh, excellent, you have received our message. We are the Jade Lotus, and most denizens of Gadgetzan think us criminals. We are so much more than mere thieves and assassins.Come, I will show you.
Jade Lotus
Most of our “family” is made up of pandaren, hozen, mantid, jinyu—even virmen—who came from the distant shores of Pandaria. We have found disciples here, teaching our ways to eager new students. We are Rogues, Druids, and Shaman. We own the shadows, we command ancient spirits, and we bend the forces of nature to our will. We involve ourselves in the petty conflict that divides this city only for as long as it will take to remove those who stand against us.In taverns, alleyways, and tea houses throughout Gadgetzan, the foolish whisper fearfully about the mysterious Jade Lotus. They say we lurk in every shadow. They speak of strange magic never seen before. They do not understand us because our motives are not like theirs. Our one purpose in this city has been to acquire jade for our leader. Not for wealth. No, our secret lies in how the magic within these stones can be drawn forth to create Jade Golems, powerful living statues that do our bidding. Many of us have been granted trinkets that can summon these warriors in the blink of an eye. More impressive, each Jade Golem we summon arrives more powerful than the last. Soon we will unleash them upon Gadgetzan and our enemies will know what it is to face a truly unrelenting foe.
Until then, they frighten each other with stories of our leader, saying things such as, “Hey, watch yer back, or White Eyes’ll jump outta da shadows and getcha” with that ridiculous accent. Nonetheless, the rumors surrounding White Eyes are surprisingly close to the truth. He is a powerful warrior—we know him to be as immovable as a mountain and as pitiless as a storm—but the taletellers are missing one important detail. A secret most of our family does not even know. He is not the leader of the Jade Lotus. He’s merely a figurehead, and the real power behind the Jade Lotus comes in a smaller—though no less dangerous—form. . . .
Deadly Bloom
Aya Blackpaw is the last living heir of the wealthy Blackpaw family. Using the Gadgetzan Museum of Ancient Artifacts as her headquarters, and shrouding her activities behind her family’s reputation as generous philanthropists, she issues orders to us through her loyal bodyguard and servant, White Eyes. She is the true leader of the Jade Lotus.Aya is youthful, energetic, and seemingly impulsive. That is a mask; in truth she is calculating, ruthless, and as hard as the jade we steal for her. Crucially, young Aya has the unique ability to create Jade Golems, and she is the source of the trinkets that so many of us carry. How she came by this incredible power is a mystery, though I swear I have seen her communing with the spirit of a Mogu king I could not name. Such a being must be most ancient indeed.
However it was that she came by her gift, Aya has successfully created an army of Jade Golems. What task she intends for them, and for us, is a mystery . . . but the Jade Lotus will be ready.
Fools and Fanatics
We were your shadow as you walked down filthy alleys with the aptly named Grimy Goons. We were listening as you endured the Kabal’s ceaseless, senseless babble. Now we reveal ourselves to offer you a place with the only current of true power running through this city.We are the Jade Lotus, and we are watching. When you return to your home, we have left a token—a gift—to remind you.
Shaded Streets
The battle for control of the city begins in early December, so we must make ready.A cunning tactician knows the battlefield, so the Mean Streets of Gadgetzan must become as familiar to you as your reflection. A wise warrior prepares, so you may wish to pre-purchase a bundle of Mean Streets of Gadgetzan cards. With our might added to yours, we will be unstoppable.

Can anyone tell me the connection between gadgetzan and pandaria? Because I don't understand much of warcraft. I think this expansion combined 2 very different things that actually not supposed to be together? And I must say the Pandaria cards concepts and themes are more interesting, isn't it?
You are correct in saying that they combined two different things.
While Pandaren and other races inhibiting the continent (e.g. Hozen, Mantid, etc.) aren't necessarily exclusive to Pandaria, they never had that much presence in Gadgetzan. However, as we can see, Blizzard went with their own idea here (not just sticking to exact WoW content) and made an expansion with gangs that each have their "around the world" feel and flavour, and incorporated cards with artwork with races that we barely see in Hearthstone - Draenei, Quilboars (Boar-people), Jinyu (Fish-people), Hozen (Monkey-people) and more.
As for Pandaria cards and concepts - I'd say they fit some of it into their gang really well, showcasing nimble assassins (e.g. "if your minion kills are survives, trigger an effect"), and of course Jade statues. However, when it comes to Pandaria and all it has to offer - there's infinite more flavour and concepts to discover: Sha, Brewmasters, Mistweavers, Martial Arts, theme of Balance and Harmony vs Destructive Emotions, Ancient Artifacts and Tombs, Ancestors, Celestial Beings, Mogu Empire and much, much more.
I don't really see any straight connection, my guess is Lotus is a parody on Yakudza and Gadgetzan itself is a parody on comics criminal city. This is the only way i can explain asians in Gadgetzan
It's pretty easy, the scenario of theis expansion is "What if Gadgetzan, after it became a sea port in Cataclysm, got really rich from the sea trading"
What I am thinking here is that because Goblins don't care about who is buying or selling, they just invite every race in their town.
That's why we have Kobold gangster, the Quilboar bike gang, Murloc gangsters and of course a lot of races in Pandaria are pretty primitive looking, like the fish people Jinyu, the monkey people Hozen, the rabbit people Vermin etc.
Also, Madam Goya is a pandaren basicly running the Black Market in WoW, which is pretty gangsterish too.
And the last reason, the expansion would be boring if we got 3 gangs of Goblins. That's why Blizz tried to make the clans as much diverse as possible.
jade golem cards!! more jade golem cards!!!
another attempt at a failed mechanic....INSPIRE me more blizzard....yawn
This isn't failed at all. I think it's a very interesting mechanic.
(Have you been eating trash? Because your puns are GARBAGE) xXXRext_Over_9000_TakeTheDissXXx
To be serious though, Aya Blackpaw is practically a 6 mana 8/6, with a deathrattle. What's not to like? (The fact that a panda has a deathrattle, ugh)
8/6 in worst case scenario. If you've been playing on curve (and assuming they have decent drops) she's a fucking 18/16. That's absolutely disgusting.
I mean hell I can see Druid Jade Blossom > Coin > Aya for a turn 5 10/8 being a pretty common play, even without any 1 or 2 drops.
Sure? But wait! There's more!!
Brann? You have a panda to make better now...
No space in between the Jade and the Golem?
TRIGGERED
Obviously the Golem was attempting to rape Jade.
As an arena player, I am concerned.
Simple scenario. Drafting a Druid deck, somewhere around pick 10 you're offered a Yeti and a Jade Spirit. You don't have any Jade Golem cards yet. Do you gamble and take the objectively worse card? Keep in mind, stat-wise, you will break even at three Jade Spirits (12/15 for 12). Considering the enormous tempo loss and terrible stat distibution with the first one, picking a Jade Spirit against a solid vanilla card feels like an unjustified risk.
What's worse: what if the Jade Spirit takes the Yeti's place and is offered opposite two even crappier cards?
I mean, even with the occurrence bonus, it is not unfathomable to be offered just two or three bad Jade Golem cards in a draft.
So considering that you will need around four Jade Golem minions to start popping off, I want to say removal will be worth taking as is, but minions statted as poorly as Aya and the Jade Spirit will rely on whether you have already drafted a bit of said removal. Right now it seems that these minions will clog the draft and force questionable gambles.
Hopefully, each class gets at least four Jade Golem cards so it's not as dire. (By contrast, the Goons' and the Kabal's family cards are strong independently.)
White eyes must be a terrible bodyguard. He has to pass off as the leader of an enormous criminal organization, while also protecting a well-known philanthropist and celebrity. If they are seen together (which is kind of inevitable given that he is her bodyguard), then both of their covers are simultaneously blown. How does he do it?
We are gonna need 3 Big Game Hunter to counter them
I like the new mechanics
