Reveal Post
Quote from BlizzardAh, excellent, you have received our message. We are the Jade Lotus, and most denizens of Gadgetzan think us criminals. We are so much more than mere thieves and assassins.Come, I will show you.
Jade Lotus
Most of our “family” is made up of pandaren, hozen, mantid, jinyu—even virmen—who came from the distant shores of Pandaria. We have found disciples here, teaching our ways to eager new students. We are Rogues, Druids, and Shaman. We own the shadows, we command ancient spirits, and we bend the forces of nature to our will. We involve ourselves in the petty conflict that divides this city only for as long as it will take to remove those who stand against us.In taverns, alleyways, and tea houses throughout Gadgetzan, the foolish whisper fearfully about the mysterious Jade Lotus. They say we lurk in every shadow. They speak of strange magic never seen before. They do not understand us because our motives are not like theirs. Our one purpose in this city has been to acquire jade for our leader. Not for wealth. No, our secret lies in how the magic within these stones can be drawn forth to create Jade Golems, powerful living statues that do our bidding. Many of us have been granted trinkets that can summon these warriors in the blink of an eye. More impressive, each Jade Golem we summon arrives more powerful than the last. Soon we will unleash them upon Gadgetzan and our enemies will know what it is to face a truly unrelenting foe.
Until then, they frighten each other with stories of our leader, saying things such as, “Hey, watch yer back, or White Eyes’ll jump outta da shadows and getcha” with that ridiculous accent. Nonetheless, the rumors surrounding White Eyes are surprisingly close to the truth. He is a powerful warrior—we know him to be as immovable as a mountain and as pitiless as a storm—but the taletellers are missing one important detail. A secret most of our family does not even know. He is not the leader of the Jade Lotus. He’s merely a figurehead, and the real power behind the Jade Lotus comes in a smaller—though no less dangerous—form. . . .
Deadly Bloom
Aya Blackpaw is the last living heir of the wealthy Blackpaw family. Using the Gadgetzan Museum of Ancient Artifacts as her headquarters, and shrouding her activities behind her family’s reputation as generous philanthropists, she issues orders to us through her loyal bodyguard and servant, White Eyes. She is the true leader of the Jade Lotus.Aya is youthful, energetic, and seemingly impulsive. That is a mask; in truth she is calculating, ruthless, and as hard as the jade we steal for her. Crucially, young Aya has the unique ability to create Jade Golems, and she is the source of the trinkets that so many of us carry. How she came by this incredible power is a mystery, though I swear I have seen her communing with the spirit of a Mogu king I could not name. Such a being must be most ancient indeed.
However it was that she came by her gift, Aya has successfully created an army of Jade Golems. What task she intends for them, and for us, is a mystery . . . but the Jade Lotus will be ready.
Fools and Fanatics
We were your shadow as you walked down filthy alleys with the aptly named Grimy Goons. We were listening as you endured the Kabal’s ceaseless, senseless babble. Now we reveal ourselves to offer you a place with the only current of true power running through this city.We are the Jade Lotus, and we are watching. When you return to your home, we have left a token—a gift—to remind you.
Shaded Streets
The battle for control of the city begins in early December, so we must make ready.A cunning tactician knows the battlefield, so the Mean Streets of Gadgetzan must become as familiar to you as your reflection. A wise warrior prepares, so you may wish to pre-purchase a bundle of Mean Streets of Gadgetzan cards. With our might added to yours, we will be unstoppable.
Know yourself, and your enemies, by seeing all the new Mean Streets of Gadgetzan cards as they’re revealed.

I like this reveal video.Showed the card ,showed the pros and cons and Savjz didn't try to suggarcoat it like it was the best card in the set.
Great reveal!
Too many people do that. They reveal a crap card and act like it's the best card. That's really annoying
this almost feels like a pandaren expansion also they make gadgetzan seem a lot bigger than it actually is, it's literally like 6 or 7 small 1 room buildings
While I don't mind what they've done with the theme of the expansion - quite like it, in fact - it did leave me thinking what an actual Pandaria expansion could have been like. They managed to come up with a new mechanic (simple, but still cool in my eyes) and cards seem quite flavourful so far. While I wasn't a bit MOP supporter, I think it could've been great in HS.
Hearthstone's Gadgetzan is actually Kezan instead. It bothers me so much
Pandaria is a cool place with a lot of cool visual and races and themes.
It was only a matter of time before we got Pandaria expansion.
Also, HS expansions are the "What if" scenarios of Warcraft.
For example, Grand Tournament was "What if the Tournament continued even after we defeated Lich king?"
The Whispers old gods was "What if the Old gods won an corrupted everybody?"
Karazhan is pretty simple "What if Medivh was was 70's playboy?"
Gadgetzan is actually "What if, after Gadgetzan became a sea port, the economy flourished ?" So in this expansion, Gadgetan isn't a 6-7 building desert city, it's a bussy and rich town.
You never heard HS is a "what if world" of warcraft? You weren't here when they released Ragnaros, Lightlord I guess
I mean I can craft a rocking bike in WoW, and even if there weren't already boar people(which there are) there's so many what's one more on the pile, the pieces for hogs on hogs are already there.
HS does have that power of injecting life into warcraft in a way that roaming npc's, a machinima or a wall of quest text that sends you off to kill stationary mobs doesn't
I agree pandaria is cool, I got a lot of enjoyment that expansion! and It got a lot of undeserved hate because focus on pandas at reveal, it really was beautiful, varied and classes that have been horrible for a long time where actually revamped and made awesome (only to be later nerfed to the ground)
just an observation that gadgetzan didn't really had much todo with pandari, don't think a single pandaren npc was there but it has been a while also full on pandaria themed expansion would get my vote!
My favourite "What if" has to be probably Goblins versus Gnomes.
I think blizzard said to themselves, "What if we saw the world of Warcraft through the eyes of the goblins and gnomes tinker?"
Because really, in wow, it's just "Gnomish invention" or "Goblin Shreder", but if you take a closer look it's actually Snow Chuggar, Whirling Zap-o-matic, Healbot, a Shielded minibot or Iron Sensei.
Jade golem can't be stopped, not like cthun that it become dead card after you hex, polymorph or entombed it.
Outside of the mechanic, White-eye mentioned in Blizzard's panel and this article should be a legendary. I am speculating that it might be the shaman's legendary; since it is the last class in this faction that never had it legendary revealed. Well, hopefully it doesn't get released as a Shaman legendary, since not only does White-eye's character design not fit into the shaman theme, Therazane still need to be released so I can play a deck with all 4 elemental lord.
I am hoping that Blizzard makes an exception, like they did to Hunter during TGT and give the Jade Lotus faction a second shared legendary. Or make Whitepaw a neutral legendary.
>Update: Ben Brode confirmed that "Jadegolem" was a mistake and its actually Jade Golem.
"it's" ?
The visual model of Jade Golem is interesting, it shows that the attack/health are equal to the cost from 10 mana.
Yet what if you either increase the cost of the Jade Golem or decrease the cost of the golem would that affect the attack/health. Like using a Mana Wraith, Venture Co. Mercenary or activating a Freezing Trap (and playing the Jade Golem). Does Emperor Thaurissan/Shadowfiend/Renounce Darkness, Naga Sea Witch, Far Sight, Bloodthistle Toxin, affect the attack and health of Jade Golem? If you Shadowstep your Jade Golem would the cost be less than the attack/health?
Does Shadowcaster/Aviana start your entire Jade Golem minion chain over? (That would be something I would like to know). What if you buffed a Jade Golem in your hand with a Grimy Goon card would that buff the chain?…
If the nerds who wrote the code for Jade Golem get everything correct they should be given a medal.
The +1/+1 is applyed on card creation, and the player global variable for that is also updated at that point, which is whenever the "Summon a jade golem" effect takes place. Buffs don't affect the chain, mana alterations don't affect the card. After it is created it's just like any token and I am certain of this not only because it makes sense but also technically easier and more logical to program.
most probably the code look like this;
play Jade Golem;
{ if JG ctr = null;
{ Summon 1/1 Jade golem cost 1, Jade Golem ctr = 1 }
else; ##JG ctr = X##
{ Summon X/X Jade Golem cost X, JG ctr ++}
}
The mana cost will effect the golem if they make the invinsible counter == cost. In which I woulnt think so
¿WHAT?
¿WHAT?
var manaCost = 1;
var jadeStats = 0;
while(game) {
if(existJadeGolem) {
jadeStats = manaCost;
summonJadeGolem(jadeStats);
manaCost++;
} else {
manaCost = 1;
jadeStats = manaCost;
summonJadeGolem(jadeStats);
}
}
while (game == true && manaCost < 31)
