FINALLY. Priest has been waiting for a decent 2 drop for literally as long as hearthstone has existed
and don't give me the "well wyrmrest agent is a good 2 drop" crap
I don't want to be forced to make a goddamn dragon deck just because I'm not playing control priest.
All welcome the priest overlords
In peoples defense Shrinkmeister is a decent 2 drop the issue was he was just too good of a combo card. I also think Shadowboxer was a decent card just didnt fit any of the priest decks at the time.
This is definately a huge welcome since well thees examples have been gone since standard was introduced.
2017 Preist is over powered shaman is never played anymore smorcs are on the brink of extinction and the decks of the old world have been killed off
You assume way too much aggro has never died and shaman isnt exactly getting nothing but bad cards they just probably wont get aggro cards. Zoo warlock has been a competitive aggro deck since the beginning of hearthstone and i dont see it leaving.
Good card, but I don't see it as a 2 drop - you will probably want to wait for 3 or more mana to combine with a PW:S or other buff. The summon being 2/2 not just 2/1 or 1/1 is really good, imo.
You can play it as a normal 2-drop and the ability prevents tempo loss when healing it. That's really the main point of the ability. This completely destroys decks that use 1-2 drops that have less than 3 attack, letting Priests gain tempo while also gaining value.
Man the new Pokemon in Sun and Moon look amazing. Kappa
Think of it this way; if you are going first and your opponent plays a 2/1 or a 1/2 or a 2/2 on their first turn, you drop this guy and on your third turn attack the one drop with Mana Geode and then hero power it. Its a strong tempo play with good value. Also if your opponent plays a 2/3 on turn 2, you also play Potion of Madness targeting their 2/1 and attacking it into the 2/3, and then use Mana Geode to attack the two drop and then hero power it. It is a huge swing play with good value, and it gives you a huge tempo advantage.
More likely it'll work like this.
1. I pass. Opponent plays Tunnel Trogg.
2. I play Mana Geode. Opponent casts lightning bolt and kills it. Opponent uses coin + Totem Golem. Trogg goes face for 3 damage.
Nice, so you are facing an ago deck. Even if he was lucky enough to have the perfect response in hand he already consumed 3 cards + coin, later on he'll have to deal with your AOE and 0 mana 2 or 4 heal every single turn that will help keep your priest of the feast PWS buffed on board, he has no other choice than suiciding his whole board on it if it's even possible. Good luck loosing the game.
No seriously, the early tempo is what priest needs right now, this is the card priest players like me have been waiting for since ever.
1. Pass
1. Coin + Mana Geode
2. Fiery War Axe.
Guys just imagine this + wild pyro + cleric + spells
Might just become mini patron
yah sounds like a fun idea i'll try that
Guys just imagine this thing + wild pyro + cleric and some spells it just might be mini patron
They probably made it epic so it wouldn't show up in arena as much. It can be a good card, but not in arena.
The reason this is op is not because it is so strong by itself, but because of the other cards in priest. Yes Frostbolt, Truesilver, backstab+dagger, Wraith, Eviscerate, quickshot, shadow pain, axe, Lightning bolt deal with it efficiently. Though combine this with Northshire, powerward shield, and dark cultist, and now you have an issue where you have to hope to draw into both your low cost removals or priest will overrun the board early game without a problem. The problem isn't that their is not a way to deal with this minion, it is dealing with this ontop of everything else is going to be a pain in the ass, and impossible for some classes to do efficiently while also gaining board presence.
Lets be honest priest has a solid late game, so now that is has a very very strong early game and very strong late game, classes that do not have the tools and builds to deal with both at the same time efficiently are just going to be out of the meta completely. Come January when we loss 3 expansions, that is going to be most of the classes, because lets be honest, priest isn't losing much in comparison to other classes.
I remember seeing that April is most likely the time the 3 expansions go...
I do agree that Priests late game is OP, so getting them there in a powerful way is going to tip the scales dramatically. People *will* be crying about how Priests can now use Inner Fire + Spiritx2 to effectively OTK people with a lot more regularity. I already do that now, and I OFTEN get the Friend request with "F U!!!" in it... because I guess aggro decks are really mad that I can sometimes one shot them out of the blue - but they fail to see I rely on the high HP medic and resurrect and hope I get one to stick for a turn :)
Don't forget about the Kabal Talonpriest synergy
