I had $3.75 in google play credit, so I'm like, sure I'll do this thing for $6.25

$3 gets you 2 packs and $10 gets you 7, so I only have to get like 4-5 packs to break even with what I actually spent out of pocket.  I think I can definitely manage at least 4 wins (1-0 already :) )

i played as a dragon warrior!  i went 4-3.  got 5 packs and 185 dust and 190g. definitely not a big profit, but not TOO much of a loss, so...  it would have been nicer for sure if they had waited and gave out packs for MSG, but still, it was exciting, and i actually only saw 2 shamans, so that was weird

Hearthstone on Twitch now is like streamers vs shamans.

literally worthless, you don't even get msg packs, but instead get old gods packs, which are basically worthless to anyone who is going to at least break even in it, because they'll probably have more than enough of the good cards from the old gods expansion. Plus, on average, people are going to get 3 wins, so you are, on average, going to get 3 old gods packs for 1000 gold, instead of 10 msg packs in less than a month for that amount. And there is no fun factor to it either, literally nobody is going to play fun decks, because that's a waste of 1000 gold, and you're basically just playing constructed. There is nothing to gain from particpating in this brawl

Should be separated from Brawl as is the Standard/Wild and how are the adventures. I like to play the Standard Tavern Brawl...

I don't mind Blizzard making a super competitive, high stakes game mode. I think it's a great idea. 

But using it in the place of a brawl is, in my opinion, antithetical to what a tavern brawl is supposed to be: A mode with crazy rules and a low bar for entry that gets you one pack for participating. And it's not just the card pack that the brawl gives. It's also a chance for players with small card collections to compete on a more level playing field with players with larger collections, letting them complete their dailies and work towards actual viable decks they can play in regular play modes.

The Heroic Brawl is the complete opposite of all of these things. In fact, It's not really a brawl at all. It's a paid, one-deck tournament that's taking the place of a brawl.

By all means, have a championship mode that caters to hard-core players. Hearthstone needs it and those players deserve it. Just not at the expense of modes that serve the more casual player or the player who is just starting out. I've got a fairly complete collection myself, but my wife just started playing this game and she depends on these brawls to help her earn gold and build out her own, which is threadbare. 

To be honest, I don't think there would have been nearly as much complaining if instead of calling it a "tavern brawl" they just announced they were pausing the brawl this week for a special pay tournament and relabeled the button. Calling it a brawl was a PR mistake.

I actually don't even think this brawl brings entertainment value for people watching streamers on YouTube/Twitch because you're just watching the same constructed decks you see on ladder non-stop. Also 1000 gold is nothing to a streamer like Kripp or Trump.. So even though the stakes seem high for us normal players, I really doubt the 1000 gold makes a difference to these streamers, so that kind of removes the illusion of a high stakes environment.

Let's all just cry because we "the casuals", aren't gonna get our sweet sweet free pack for one single week. Let's also make a video, complaining about an game mode that's clearly not for us! Who cares about the pro scene, that might enjoy it... as long as we don't get our well DESERVED free pack in a boooring recycled brawl we played already 5 or more times.

Can we have a Nefarian vs Ragnaros Side Brawl while ignoring this abomination? Pweeeeaaaseeee.
