Challengestone Returns to BlizzCon!
The famous Challengestone tournament returns to the stage at this year's BlizzCon! The tournament will be run during the "Hearthstone Exhibition" time slots.
Challengestone is a deckbuilding tournament where players need to follow a strict set of rules when crafting their deck. The first ever Challengestone tournament featured decks which had to be made of minions with odd attack values and spells with even mana costs.
The current rules have not been announced, but Frodan has stated Kripparrian outdid himself and that it was really fun and exciting.
We'll keep you updated should more information come out about the event before BlizzCon. If you want to watch, you'll be able to find the event on Twitch.tv/PlayHearthstone at the following times:
- Nov 4: 2:45 PM PDT - 5:00 PM PDT
- Starting at 5:45 PM EDT (9:45 PM GMT)
- Nov 4: 7:45 PM PDT - 10:00 PM PDT
- Starting at 10:45 PM EDT (2:45 AM GMT)
Oh yeah!!
Rules are they are going to all play Mage arenas and whoever bitches the most wins.
It is cool that blizz brings challengestone back, a format that might actually bring wild decks in? I mean wild is obviously pretty balanced right now as everyone can beat everything depending on what deck you will take (only rule here: legendaries are FORBIDDEN).
Another thing I wanted to say (offtopic)
I am kind of disappointed from blizzard to not bring any news, not even a small one, today for the upcoming expansion. Like for the weekend, we had the world championship group stage going on and last wednesday and thursday, we got some hints (together with the group stage) but if blizz really is gonna stay calm until saturday, I'm gonna have to flip some tables
EU?
New Rules: Shaman Only! Just like ladder!
I dont know what ladder you are playing Shaman is not the only deck being played.
I find it pretty interesting that Challengestone was resurrected just for Blizzcon, after 1 year of inactivity. Imo, I would've preferred there to have been more Challengestones over the past year. :/
Kripparian + Firebat on the Casting Seats would make sense, given that they are the only two well-known casters who have tried this!
"Every card must contain 'random' in the description."
but it would be a fun tourney to watch
Yay finally a breath of fresh air, normal tournaments are pretty boring.
Yeah, thos will be fun :)
Whatever it is, I hope it becomes a tavern brawl. Member when those used to be original ideas? I member...
Remember when Naxx was out? I member...!
(for those who didn't get it... you need to watch Southpark now.)
member chewbacca?
I'm excited to see what Kripp cooked up
No matter how many different new modes, features and other content added to the game...it will become stale. All games get old after a while...and it has nothing to do with which hero or decks are the top tier...games just get old period.
Yes you're right but if you really want you can make some bigger rework of an old game to make it feel as completly new or don't you ?
I'm excited
