HearthPwn Deckbuilder & Arena Revamp
We've just performed a website update and have made some changes to some of your favourite tools based on your previous feedback. Check out what's new at HearthPwn!
- The Forge has been replaced with The Arena! Rest in Peace.
- The Deckbuilder and Arena have been visually redesigned. See below for more information.
Deck Pages
We've made some updates to deck pages. An example deck page can be found at Basic Deck - Garrosh Hellscream.
- Options to export your deck to various formats can now be found on deck pages. This makes it easy to share your deck on other websites! Check out the quick info box on the Basic Warrior deck page for an example.
- Export your decks to:
- BBCode
- Cockatrice
- Markdown (Reddit)
- HTML
- Mana curves have been added. Check the quick info box.
- The option to delete your deck has been added to its deck page.
Deckbuilding
- Users can now flag their decks as private when creating or editing their deck to prevent it from showing up in site listings.
- Decks that are private are still available to anyone who has a link to it.
- Users may now delete a deck they have created by visiting their deck listing on their user profile. (Example profile page)
BBCode
- Card BBCode on the forums will now accept a card id number in place of a card name. This is useful if you want to link cards which do not have unique names.
Deckbuilder
According to a friend of Leeroy Jenkins, our Deckbuilder is at least 32.33% improved! Check it out below.
Features
- Class selection page is super pretty.
- A mana curve is now available!
- Tabbed card picking interface for class specific and neutral cards just like in-game.
- Want to see how many of a particular card type you have in your deck? Now you can. You can see the number of cards based on Minions, Spells, Weapons, and even Keywords.
- Decks made in the deckbuilder can now be flagged as "Arena Decks", which bypasses the 2 card limitation for normal decks. Perfect for sharing your recent arena deck list with friends!
The Arena
The Arena has been overhauled with logic fixes to work much more like the in-game version, and looks just like its brother the Deckbuilder.
Features
- Added randomization to the hero selection when you visit the Arena.
- If you really want to, you can use the arrows or the shuffle button to get a new selection of heroes.
- Turn logic for card selection is closer to in-game based on data obtained by running through the Arena.
- Uses the same interface as our Deckbuilder. Mana curves and deck stats rock!
Beta Patch 3937 Patch Notes
Blizzard has released official patch notes for the latest patch. We also datamined some of these changes a couple of days ago.

Can I suggest the ability to add the Mana Curves in forum post with BBcode? Or maybe just make it a default when posting the deck with BBcode?
I like seeing the Mana Curves at a glance rather than having to click on the deck and open up the deck page, if there was an easy way to post Mana Curves in our forum posts with the deck builds that would be awesome! I know I would use it!
Tried out the new deck builder and yes it improved a lot from the last version. Thx guys!
Would be nice if you can fit these features in the future versions(IMO):
Remove a card from the deck list: currently it seems you can only remove card by right clicking the card in the card select area(top left), which is a bit inconvenient.
Filter card by searching card text segment/minion type: this might be useful for a hunter seeking beast or any1 who's looking for anything that can give +1/+1 and so on.
Remove the 30 card cap, instead give a warning if the deck contains more than 30 card: I'm sure a lot of people tend to add every card they see fit into the deck first, and compare/select from the reduced card piles. Would be nice if they can actually create/save the pile in the deck builder since it's so much more interactive than marking them by pen and paper.
Again, great work, Thx a ton!
Alright, been messing around with it for awhile now and I got some questions/feedback about the changes.
1. With the remake of the deckbuilder the search window was modified to only search for their names and "tags" like charge (that I assume you have manually added for each card for a certain reason). With the old deckbuilder you could also search for words in the description. For example I could search for "adjacent" to find everything that affects adjacent targets. The game client also has that same functionality, and I really miss it hard when making decks.
1.5. Also, as for the "manual tag" thing, I tried to filter for "summon" cards but did not find Imp Master or any other "situational" summoning cards.
2. After finishing a deck I often overlook it and notice that there are cards missing that I really need into it. Therefor I have to remove some others to make room for them. The problem is that removing added cards is really bothersome (unless I missed something) as there is no "quick" button to do it in the summary list. Instead I have to search for the card I want to be removed and right-click on in than. I'd suggest making the cards remove themselves if you click on them (Similar to in game) or add a small button for each card to prevent accidental removals.
3. While not a that special feature, I really miss that the cards "don't" sort themselves until you add the specified sort system or you "reload" the deck. I used to work with my deckbuilding that I focus on a certain category of cards per time. Like first I fill the deck if appropriate removal, than I fill it with wanted taunt minions, than I fill... and so on. This caused my decks to be sorted by my own card picking order and made it easier to see that my deck is well balanced. It's probably quite personal but I do miss the functionality.
Awesome work guys, thanks for your hard work.
Nice to have the private feature. Now I can save all my ridiculous ideas on the site instead of my good ol notepad.
Also, big credit for keeping the old links intact. Would have been sad if I had to remake all of them.
EDIT: As a suggestion. It would have been nice if the "description" window for editing could have been made bigger, alternatively that you write it directly on the deck page itself. It does feel a bit annoying to write when you can't get the full scope on your current progress.
EDIT 2: Alright, apparently there is a way to increase the length of the description window that I missed. It certainly helps a lot but I would not mind to have the functionality to make it wider also :)
Just tested the arena builder and allready found a bug, here it is in a pic http://i.imgur.com/96dFNpU.png
We're putting in a fix for this shortly. Thanks for your patience!
While I have not seen it yet, I figure Adrenaline Rush would likely be a subject to the same bug.
All and all, is there a special reason why it is still exists? Does the card still in the Hearthstone DB even after it was removed?
Nothing to rush on :) just take your time, just wanted to contribute a little :P
Yeah, the card is still inside the game client even though it was removed. I'll make sure we remove it from the deckbuilder and arena.
The deckbuilder is a major improvement from and already solid version. Great work!
And of course the Arena builder is really awesome. Thanks guys!
Woohoo, Arena deck builder! :D
New logo looks nice and sharp as well. Glad we kept the Happy Squid "W" in the logo, was afraid we'd lose him :P
