All the awesome player announcements in one sweet vid!
Felt like SuperJJ is the upcoming world champ. The only one to wear eSport clothes. Had a cup at the background. Took the deckbuilding most seriously. Just a few misplays. Loved his performance. And on the other hand, TidesOfTime had his un-made bed in the background, what a junk lol.
Been watching this all day and have 2 say I like the format and the gameplay has been awesome, if you have not been able to see it live watch the replay.
Watching the final match now between Strifecro and SuperJJ, Strife pulled off an awesome win against Kolento in an anyfin Paladin Mirror.
Good stuff hope 2 see more...
Yeah Kolento got punished for playing his Anyfin, awesome game, loved it
Shouldn't they call it the BANstone tournament?
I can't wait to see StrifeCro win! 👊☺
Can we consider this choise as honest elections for most OP cards?
In my opinion:
Fandral wins you games if manages to survive for at least 1-2 turns.
Ice Block and Innervate and the like are not OP as such, but they enable particular decks to function much better than they otherwise would. The same can be said about Fiery Win Axe for example which allows Warrior to grab hold of tempo or stave off aggro early on.
Cost reduction and Mana Acceleration cards are OP.
Innervate is like the Black Lotus of Hearthstone.
Hearthpwn put the EU time first :O this gotta have to be a miracle
I'm going to rob this victory from you by telling that ET stands for Eastern Time, which is a time zone in Americas.
If my calculations are correct, this should start 6 PM CET.
MURICA bruh, MURICA
Murloc Paladin meta...
Unfortunately, this is gonna be coming on at midnight for me... ;-; looks like I'm gonna be missing it. For some reason, watching a rerun is just not as good as watching it live.
The extra bans were announced early yesterday morning (middle of the night for America, about 7-8am in EU), so I'd assume that players have used the time since then to come up with their decklists - in fact, they've probably had since before then to come up with decklists, since they probably knew all the bans in advance of the announcement.
In regards to closed invitational stuff, I imagine that doing it this way was the easiest for Firebat to set up, especially since this has relatively speaking been quite quick from announcement to event. Perhaps in the future we'll see some tournaments from him where all spots are determined by qualifiers - who knows?
I like the fact that more and more tournaments (and players subsequently) are inclining towards more fun and unorthodox rules/modes, which creates more unpredictable clashes, outcomes and meta. It's pretty obvious everyone is already sick of the
BoringStandard mode, where variety is pretty much non-existent.In my opinion even this ban-list is not big enough for us to see some really inovative decks and battles, but it's a good start. I hope we will see more of these and also variations like "only mech decks", "only beast decks", etc. "themed decks" of some sort. I think that would be fun and more entertaining than the classes and archetypes we've seen for ages in tournaments.
Nobody banned 4 mana 7/7
