What happens if I cast Wisps of the Old Gods while this is in play? Will it summon a 7 cost minion and 6 wisps? If not will it consume its durability for nothing?
It'll probably summon a 7 drop and 6 wisps. At least thats how Summoning Stone works, i think.
It says "After". Therefore the order is spell triggers then summon if possible. And most surely 1 durability blown either way since it effectively tries to summon. We should see how counterspell works here tho, i think it wouldnt trigger
we have a card that works in the exact same way atm, Wild Pyromancer.
If the spell is counter-spelled Wild Pyromancer does not trigger so counter spell will work the same way.
Also the original question you will first get the 7 wisps as this triggers after the spell is fully resolved, then the spell will resolve chances are (there is no way to confirm this yet) the weapon will not lose the durability as it on the next line after the minion is summoned.
Flavor-wise, you've got a staff here that can be used by any class. I probably wouldn't be frustrated by that if I wasn't so tired of getting OWNED by weapon-based classes using Fiery War Axe and Doomhammer, and here you are giving caster-class weapons to those guys as well. C'mon man!
Obviously it won't be used like a weapon. But even if it does, 1 dmg should not scare you so much, I think
Yeah, because a 1/3 weapon in turn 8 is so scary.
If you attack with this weapon you lose so much value, is not worth.
Harrison Jones will be happy.
does the staff effect work before or after a spell like doom?
From what I understand, I'd say that the minion will spawn AFTER the spell effect, since you need to have cast the spell not play a spell. For me casting a spell is the spell itself taking action and play a spell is the action of playing the card. And the logic that a card is played then the card do is action.
This is the man who opened the portal between Azeroth and Draenor, and helped forge the alliance to save the world from the Burning Legion! Surely he deserves to be stronger.
Hey, it's pretty strong already. Triggering the Summoning Stone effect 3 times is no joke.
Wait, a Silverware Golem did all of that? Sheesh, didn't know they were that amazing.
Belonging in a Museum "Intensifies"
That didn't make it more comfortable one bit.
good card in control reno mage besides that is to slow, you need to spend an entire turn in basically nothing
Medivh is horrendously overpowered. How much is that staff actually WORTH? Considering you get it along with a 7/7 body, we could be looking at the REAL new Dr. Boom, especially as he's neutral.
Good. Fuck priests
