Raving Grimoire? More like Raving Comment Section! *rimshot*
Anyone else feeling disappointed that Raving Grimoire turned out to be Babbling Book?
+1 :(
Playing Imp of Malchezaar on turn 1 would be a bad thing. When you're replacing cards at the beginning, you're fishing for your good turn 2 and 3 cards. This kind of destroys that idea. Definitely a zoo staple though, but I can see this making Warlock lose right from turn 1.
Raving Grimoire, even though a 1/1, is perfect for spell heavy mages like freeze mage. The majority of mage cards are great, mostly containing removal. I can see this card being played in high tier decks. We already see that 2 mana battlecry draw 1 card being played in tournaments in freeze mage, so turn 1 draw a random spell is complete value.
I personally was salty day 1 and 2 of reveal because of RNG being in every card except 1... Wait a sec... :|
It has some stiff competition though, Mana Wyrm is already a powerhouse of a one drop and in a tempo deck Mana Wyrm would be safer in more situations than Babbling Book.
That said I do not see any reason for any Mage deck not to run both since they are great one drops with some synergy with each other and the Mage class itself.
Adding onto the above comment's point, for Freeze Mages, I don't think replacing Novice Engineer with Babbling Book is that straightforward. It is used so that Freeze Mages can draw into their win conditions quicker after all, which is much more important than obtaining an extra spell.
While this is true, other new cards such as The Curator give Freeze Mage an easier way to draw Alexstrazza, a key card in freeze Mage. If it will be enough for this card to be added is still in question though
Raving Grimoire - awesome card and more importantly not a common!!! ok i feel a little bit better now. Gimme the rest :D
Why is it so good that it is not common?
Because it would be super powerful in arena
I see your point but I never understand these explanations. It is like Dr. Boom. Everybody hates that card because it is unbalanced. Big deal. Why do not you use that then? :D Anyway... I only see it useful when you battle against Rafaam and he steals your cards. It can be a great buff to your weapon and there is a high chance that Rafaam gets a trash spell in exchange for it.
Which is better? This or Jeweled Scarab
