Class Breakdown
Below are some interesting facts about the classes we see in this weekend's event including a pretty pie chart of class distribution.
- Hello there old friend! Priest makes a surprising appearance.
- Compared to the EU Spring Champs, Paladin and Druid have swapped places.
- Shaman, unsurprisingly, remains at the top for most popular class to bring, tied with Warrior.
- Heisnotaxel is the only player who didn't bring a Shaman deck, yet brought Paladin and Priest.
Archetype Breakdown
- Hunter: All the Hunter decks are Midrange. This is the most popular single deck archetype, just like it was during the EU Spring HCT.
- Yogg-Saron: Three Yogg-specific decks are here, 2 of the Mage flavor and another of Druid. Mmmm. Old God Flesh.
- Warrior: The widest range of decks from all the classes. Fun!

the midrange huntah enters the fray... :)
Pinpingho is back :o
one of the most consistent players in the world it seems
I believe Visa issues might be one of the reasons why quite a number of the finalists from the various preliminaries held in the Asia-Pacific couldn't make it for the Championships. PPH was 3rd if I'm not wrong in his Preliminaries - the preliminaries required you to be the first/second in order to make it to the Championships.
Still, we should not doubt any of these player's skills, because they are the top few that have emerged from their respective Preliminaries!
Totally true. Especially since there are quite a few professional Hearthstone players under the age of 18.
If I can remember correctly, ThijsNL was 17 when he started and had quite a hard time being allowed to play (= work according to Dutch laws) in the United States.
Same goes for many professional sportsman or even successful DJ's.
I remember a long time ago, there was this Dutch kid star (Jantje Smit) who won some kind of award, but wasn't allowed to collect it at the party, because it was held in the evening. The law prevented him from "working" and collecting his award :D
I always take these tournaments with a grain of salt. A lot of streamers don't come to these events as they make more money streaming. To do these you have to take several days off streaming which is lost income coupled with the fact that you have to then spend money on flying, hotel, and more expensive food. There are several occasions in these were if Reynad, Trump, Kibler, got first they would still lose money.
