The Old Gods Travel Agency
The Hearthstone Brasil Facebook page posted a fun picture about an "Old Gods Travel Agency" which included brochures to popular Azerothian destinations, including one particular adventure dream of many Hearthstone players. Those locations are:
- Icecrown Citadel
- The Dark Portal
- Vale of Eternal Blossoms
We don't know if this actually means anything, it could just be for fun, but we've definitely dreamt of an Icecrown Citadel adventure! What theme (doesn't have to be one in this post) would you like to see Hearthstone use in an upcoming Adventure or Expansion?
Thanks to Nuba for the tip and translations!
I'm pretty sure if a Vale of Eternal Blossoms adventure comes out they'll probably make one of the celestials have a Reno Jackson type of effect, because if they don't, a control possibility for other classes than warrior, priest and paladin will just be gone... Oh and also I think a "PANDA-stic! experience" hints more towards a Vale of Eternal Blossoms adventure... though I wouldn't mind either of the 3 adventures (:
The WoW TCG originally did not include Death Knight as a hero class just like Hearthstone, but they did release a Death Knight Starter Deck eventually which had a collection of basic DK cards for people to use and each set subsequently included DK cards like every other class. I could see Blizzard doing something similar with Adventures which introduce a new class. The Adventure could contain a suite of basic cards for that class and maybe some neutral minions. I think each class in Standard right now has about 48 class specific cards. That could easily be achieved for a new class in an Adventure. Would be a little more than they have had in previous adventures, but it's not that far off.
I love the idea, but I think they won't change that big for a thing that'll rotate out in 2 year. Like, the whole UI, the class balance, the way how the game works...
And it's a high risk thing, they definitely don't want to make that new class too good, because it'll break the diversity of the game, but if it's not that good... who will buy it (Me absolutely, but for the competitive side)?
I don't know if anyone else has picked up on this but...
While the picture does show pamphlets for three different adventures, only one is open.
What is the ladder card back for July?
Seems interesting to say the least.
wow
I hope they don't have all three in the same adventure, ICC could certainly be its own adventure, they haven't used a single boss out of there at all yet, and they've already taken from Vale raids (Malkorok & Iron Juggernaut). I would hate for ICC to be condensed down from what it could be, the Lich King deserves his own adventure. Fond memories of probably the best expansion in WoW's history.
Icecrown Adventure would be awesome.
I have always sensed ICC every time. I think even with this posting of 3 possibilities, I feel that it might be time go tribal.
When I talk about tribal, When I saw the rise in the use of Flame Juggler and also the Fiery Bat in Constructed, I have been going back to Amani Berserker. I am not saying that I have found anything new but I feel like we're seeing some "enrage" again such as that of Aberrant Berserker and Bloodhoof Brave.
With more "ping"-ish interaction, I find that the theme of "Anger", "Fury", "Wrathful". However, we are seeing some increase in higher HP creatures. It may be possible that we're going to see even more to potentially "help tank" the power of C'Thun in terms of board HP, kinda like Twilight Drake or the Nerfed Molten Giant to help "soak" the potential loss when C'Thun is dropped unless you have more HP and still Polymorph/Hex/Polyboar Sylvanas Windrunner prepared on the board to deny C'Thun, or win a brawl.... or get Twisting Nether or DOOM! or (Vaporize or Freezing Trap or Misdirection some of which gets countered by having still more minions) from Yogg-Saron, Hope's End (I mean, a very rare occurrence but I have lived against a 23 or 24 Attack C'Thun on the board and I got to Faceless Manipulator to copy my Opponent's C'Thun and then Big Game Hunter just like the oldest way to counter Ragnaros the Firelord).
Or something that generates more "board interaction" like a "Combat"-style where since there are so many Face Aggression decks, like Control decks, often times intertwined between the two is maintaining the board, there should come some both advantage and disadvantage in being "in Combat", kind of like in WoW when you're in combat you cannot MOUNT until you're officially out of combat. So, like creatures that take advantage of being "in combat", kind of like Emperor Cobra or Patient Assassin or Acidmaw or even attack more furiously like the Giant Sand Worm. Not necessarily destroy instantly, but some backfire mechanic like Flame Imp's drawback.
So as for me, my own un-educated guess is either tribal like similar to Amani Berserker, or more bigger creatures like "Titans" or whatever that is an opposite to Old Gods may appear next. Or more "Destroy" or reduction of your hero for putting out a potentially strong creature just to "combat".
/edit (to explain better): "Combat: Deal 2 Damage to your Hero" for trading instead of going face with that creature... it's kinda like the drawback of the Corrupted Healbot, it's a 6/6 that heals for 8 back anyways.
I can't see them doing a vote between the 3 it seems like a waste of resources unless the two that lose will come at a later date. Everybody knows that Icecrown Citedal would win by a landslide the vote ain't even necessary.
I guess being brazilian came in handy finally.
"Imagine being surrounded by trees of golden leaves and majestic walls. You have just crossed the impenetrable Gate of the Majestic Celestials and a waterfall greets you in your path as you explore this exotic land. Open your eyes and feel the Valley of Eternal Flowers, found in the heart of Pandaria.
Enjoy the extraordinary views and the most famous dish in local cuisine - the traditional roasted bamboo sandwiches. Enjoy because it's gonna be a PANDAstic experience!"
Thanks for the +1.
As far as I know, they said they don't want to add more classes to the game because it means there's a smaller chance that you will get cards for the classes you want to play.
They actually specifically said that they don't have any plans for more heroes and probably won't for some time.
BUT. That was what they said the last time it was brought up, which was over a year ago.
Believe me I want you to be right, but no I don't think we will see a new class anytime soon. Maybe one day if they feel they need to do something to freshen Hearthstone up, but I don't think we are near that point.
It will be new adventure, similar to League of Explorers. You will visit all those locations and maybe even more of them via time travel, most likely.
They have stated about a dozen times over the last 2 years: there will be no new classes.
the great thing with blizz is that they usually don't listen to their community because if they did every game they would ever make would fall apart because most people who play their games don't understand the background and ramifications of some of the things they want or say
Since IC is made out of Yogg's Blood, Saronit, it does have a connection to the OG.
