Oh look, worse Gruul. You know.... because Gruul was too OP.
This should be a rare at best and still nobody would ever play this not even in arena. if itwould cost 6 then okay. In arena.
Meh. Another underpowered card in what's inevitably going to be an underpowered expansion.
Should have used this artwork!!
really nice artwork :D
to be honest, this isn't really a good card for now, we still have 100+ cards to see if something can have synergy with this
but blizzard has to make bad cards so you don't always expect amazing cards like when you see a golden border for legendary you might not expect a big powerful guy like N'zoth the Corruptor
That was also one of my thoughs. He could have easily been an epic card but I'm guessing that's probably a one-of dungeon boss in the WoW lore.
This is just a strictly worse version of Gruul... Why even bother printing it?
Its a secret buff to Gruul. Just make something worse so something else looks better. In the world of the blind, an one-eyed is a king.
So, why does it say "attacks and kills" and not just "kills"? He's not going to gain +2/+2 for each action but for each kill either way + this isn't a basic card to make it so clear.
As for the card, just another legendary to fill the set.
"Attacks and kills" and "kills" are completely different things imo. The latter meaning that if 3 Silver Hand Recruits suicide into The Boogeymonster he would gain +6/+6. Hopefully it's been mistranslated and can actually be a viable card.
Still not sure. In your example, he didn't kill them, the recruits suicide themselves into Boogeymonster.
They were still killed BY the Boogeymonster though. I don't see any confusion about this distinction.
Not that it matters now but it's "Whenever this minion kills another minion..." not "Whenever a minion dies to this minion..."
I only meant that I understood why they added "attacks and kills" rather than "kills," to eliminate any possible confusion.
It changes how your opponent can trade into it with their minions. Which makes it worse.
It doesn't matter. For better or worse, the card will be like this. (I appreciate your answers though guyz :))
Why make this a card?
This is almost strictly worse to any comparable card. Boulderfist Ogre costs (2) less and is as threatening the turn it's played. Troggzor costs (1) less and is more difficult to remove, because it spawns a 3/5, if you use spells. The new Hogger "grows" by 2/2 every time it's damaged and costs (1) less. Gruul costs the same and grows at least as fast with a bigger body to start with. Hell, even Kvaldir Raider can be considered better than this.
Edit:
I guess this card was literally designed as a joke. Someone on the designer team was like "Let's make a legendary minion that looks really scary, call it "Boogeyman", but ironically give it a completely harmless effect." And thus, The Boogeymonster was born.
Are they nerfing BGH, or are they just going to design around him?
