New Card Reveal - Hogger, Doom of Elwynn; Giant Sandworm, Eater of Secrets

Update: Accoding to Mike Donais, the name of Hogger is A+.
A new card was revealed at the China Gold Series tournament today, Hogger, Doom of Elwynn! ~~Name may not be translated correctly.~~

who would use the new hogger that needs to be hit to summon, when for one less mana you summon the gnolls free including at the end of the turn it's played. doesn't make sense having the new one, he's not as good imho.

just looked at the eater of secrets, not looking forward t o taking 2 or 3 hours to get 5 or 6 wins for a quest let alone as much gold as I'm used to getting (often cap) since I can't use hunter or zoo any mor ein standard. guess I'll have to get a bot finally. I planned to use flares for mages and paladins on hunter while farming gold, so that eater would only be ahindrance to me. what's a good bot with alow ban rate

Love these new cards. Some seem terrible for tournament play, but building fun, niche decks is always fun and something like the new hogger would be a blast in my eyes. We'll see how everything pans out, but so far, so good, I say.

Because the people playing secretdin are not skillful and you can easily beat them? (at least most of them) But what if you lose due to RNG? (this is HS afterall)

Personally, I prefer to be beaten by a skillful freeze mage than a lucky (somewhat OP) paladin deck...

There is nothing wrong with making cards that combat popular tactics. These cards are situational and if and when you play against a deck that is not the answer to they become less than stellar cards. I think that is a fine trade off.

A 2/4 for 4 is not exactly a good creature if and when you play against non secret decks. It will come down to how popular secrets are in the meta after the next set as to if this guy will see any play.

"skillful" freeze mage, that's a new one. I see both secret paladin and freeze mage equally dull and uninteresting, the difference being that secret paladin doesn't waste my time. The whole appeal of Hearthstone over other CCGs is the fast pace, quick matches and interactivity, freeze mage is against all those things, it's the anti-play deck. If you hate the game and want to ruin it for other aswell freeze mage is the way to go.

Quite the opposite i love long games but dislike freeze mage, was having a go at secret paladin

In fact i must be one of the only people on this thread that wants a game where

value>tempo

same problem as kezan - only 3 classes play secrets and a 2/4 for 4 is not that good.

imoh i think kezan is better against 1 enemy secret: kezan + secret > 3/5 without a secret..

Let's be honest, the card is designed exclusively to hard-counter Secret Paladin in Wild (and maybe Freeze Mage)- it flattens a Secret Paladin by not only negating ALL the secrets but coming into play as a 7/8 for 4 (assuming a full tree of 5 secrets off the Mysterious Challenger). In Standard it's of questionable use as Secret Paladin is already on the way out, thanks to losing Avenge, but they needed SOMETHING to replace Kezan.

no i got that, hard counter against secret pally - but i´m not talking about wild.

in standard secret paladin is more or less dead even without this card...

but i have to admit: forgot that kezan is not in standard xD i´m sorry - so its a good replacement for kezan, but kezan was not play often, right? :)
