The Hearthstone European Closed Beta Test is Nearly Here!
The information Zeriyah promised this week about the European Beta is here.
Originally posted by Blizzard (Official Forums)Following the exciting showing at gamescom in Cologne, Germany, the Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft team has an announcement to make—the European closed beta test is nearly here!
In a few weeks, assuming all the cards have been properly shuffled, the murlocs have all been corralled, and the mana crystals have all been polished, we’ll start inviting players who’ve opted in to start playing. Exciting times!
We’re really looking forward to you all getting a chance to check out this game, and we think everyone’s going to enjoy it—whether you love card games or have never played them before.
There’s still time to sign up, so don’t delay! Once the EU closed beta test starts, we’ll begin working through the list of everyone who’s signed up, letting in a few groups at a time, so please be patient if you don’t get in straight away. Those murloc minions take a while to enter Battle.net addresses. Once you’ve been checked off the list, you’ll receive an email with instructions on how to download the game and start playing. Happy dueling!

That's good :D
:D It's so funny blizzard... soooooo funny... like:- " hey HS funs we have some great news for u tomorrow!!!!!!four!!!!!! "
and i like: - " oh nice, maybe they will release the beta in a couple of days "
in the next day: - " Sooooo HS funs here is the great news, the HS is nearly here "
And i said: " yaaaaaaaay!!!!!! oh wait a minute.... nearly?...... NEARLY?!!!! -.-' "
So, yeah, i totally agree with Moneypenny. The truth is, i'm not angry, i'm just frustrated, because they cant set a release date or something. i don t care if i have to w8, just set a release date.
I'm a Blizz fanboy and a HS lover. Still, I don't really understand the strategy chosen by the game producers about this Beta.
A Beta is an opportunity for devs to fire-test their game, their servers, etc, before a release. But it's also a chance for the Community to start putting its fingers into it. And so, usually, it is an event well synchronised in order to achieve everything.
Right now, they are generating frustration and rage in the EU community. I spent 2 months playing with Hearthstone cards we printed, and now, I lost my interest for the game because of the wait (Compared to the fact that some have access to it...). And I know that I am not alone, because with passion comes passionate reactions, and there are a lot of players who are already passionate about the game.
Billing issues? It´s a beta. Just desactivate payments until it's fixed. Server issues? It's a beta, open it on US servers for worldwide players until you open more servers. It's a localisation issue? Release it in english while you polish your translations.
Etc.
But don't release it for US while the EU is looking at them like homeless kids who are watching through a Mac Donald's main window. This is bad decision... Or communicate about it if it is well justified. We're not dumb, we can understand a few things. :)
i'll check this website again in a week... :(
best comparison ever.:D I totally agree
This is really getting tiring. And by this, I mean Blizzard's shitty politics on when to release stuff, and to whom. I don't for one second believe they have any localization or server problems. The game is localized already. Even if it wasn't, developers didn't even bother localizing stuff in most languages back in the day. There's a second wave of keys in the US being released today. Server problems my ass.
Not only do they limit to one portion of their customers, but also to a targeted portion of streamers and people with "visibility". It's all about marketing, rather than about testing, about actual gaming. How much marketing is too much? I don't even need the beta myself. I'm old, I've learned to wait. But being old, I've also learned outrage at blatant bullshit practices. Instead of filtering decent beta applications, they give them to slightly retarded individuals that have apparently decided that playing video games 16 hours out of 24 while filming their sorry asses is the way life should be spent. To ditzy blondes who scream and gush at the game while having no clue what they're doing. They decide to make massive giveaways through Facebook and Twitter, rewarding social media stalkers that spend their day refreshing their computer screens and mobile phones. It's so much easier than going through the trouble of getting actual beta testers anyway.
In short, Blizzard is ensuring themselves they don't have one single competent beta tester. Coverage? Fuck yeah, they're getting coverage. 24/7, fake boobs and League of Legends progamer coverage. Awesome.
Am I mad? Why yes, thank you for noticing. I'm mad at Blizzard for its shitty practices. I'm even more upset at their piss poor attempts at justifying said practices. I'm mad about what the video game industry has become.
This concludes a much needed vent, that has been taken far out of context. My apologies.
Could people justfing that blizzard kept their word by saying it's summer till septerber 23, plz stop. We already know that. What blizzard is doing and what you are defending is like swearing to someone with complete nonsence words because it's not actually swearing.
I don't understand why everyone is overreacting. This is what I expected. Blizz said that EU Beta wouldn't be out for like 2 months after US, so be glad it's this early.
Don't people realize how bad/notorius Blizzard is with servers/stability and international releases? Granted they are the only country that actually TRIES to release a beta internationally, so get off your high horses people! They are doing what they can.
And given how horrible Blizzards own alpha test realms were before the release of the US beta, one couldn't expect them to have any hope of releasing EU servers all that expediently.. (PS. September 20th is still "Summer", since it is not officially Fall until the equinox. So Blizz didn't lie about the "summer beta" ~.^)
my hopes faded :(
Well nothing new folks, Blizzard has absolutely never given a damn about Europe. If they can sell a few games there it's fine but they're all about NA as far as communication or community is concerned.
such a poor job from blizz they shouldn't release beta untill beta is ready for both us and eu like most games do.
I fhtey are really making us wait for other languages why not just release all the english for the whole world then make people wait for other languages or release all languages at once for the whole world. I would have prefered all english be released first.
99% of EU population speaks english the localization excuse for them is kinda false.
So you're telling me, you ALWAYS kept all YOUR promises? :)
Just be glad, it only means they're working on delivering something well-oiled, not half assed.
triumph you do realise that US has had beta for almost two weeks? There is nothing to well oil, it already is.
So? That doesn't mean that they aren't still working on it?
they will be always working on it, even after the game comes out. Yeah maybe they can make less glitches but even with the minor stuff I would want to play it sooner, as long as the gliches were minor ofc. So far the Beta in US din't seem to have major glitches as far as I've heard.
I guess The Black Eyed Peas should start working on a new song; Where is the patience.
Moaning about something that will come out (for free even) makes you really look like a 5 year old who can't have the candy.
I played Hearthstone on Gamescom, it was awesome, it will be awesome, for me personally I'd just like to get into the beta at one point to test the game out, see if you can find any weird bugs etc. That's what beta is about, NOT about playing a game earlier than everyone else and bragging about it.
Get some perspective, please.
personally I have patience, what I don't have is time in a couple of weeks. Right now I'm bored all day wondering what to do, passing time by killing time waiting for beta. Next week my classes start and a few weeks after that my exams will start. Even if people didn't have school the game is based on wow which means most people waiting for beta is also wow fans, and in two weeks 5.4 will come and people won't have time to play both harthstone and the responsibilities of a new patch. Personally I will also have school added to that list so I'm not pissed I have to wait, I'm pissed at the time it will be released.
Probably drop at the same time as 5.4, meaning I won;t have time to concentrate on either completely. Worst. POSSIBLE. Timing. >.<
