Cultists, and Tentacles, and Wispers! Oh my!
The rotating card carousal on the official Hearthstone site has been updated with a different set of cards! This has happened in the past when Hearthstone wanted to tell us about upcoming content such as when Blackrock Mountain was teased.
They are themed around dark magic, cultists, and tentacled beings. Woo! The official expansion announcement comes to us on March 11th.
Thanks to IcyVeins for the tip.
Hope they release it soon.
I'm sure they will. We will know for certain in two days. Let's use that time to theoricfaft, and see what we got right.
I didn't feel so excited since the announcement of Naxx, and I'm talking about Naxx announcement made for WoW.
Maybe Whispers of the Old Gods
I understand the Faceless Manipulator, the Dark Whispers and even the Void Terror. But what about the Cult Master and Mind Blast?
Cult Master may be a reference to the Old Gods followers, and the Mind Blast must be a reference of the influence of the Old Ones in the minds of the weak, like they did with Neltharion/Deathwing, driving them mad.
Mind blast means the new explasion will "blow your mind"
*hype intensifies*
N'Zoth
themed around dark magic, cultists, and tentacled beings? When did blizzard got all hentai on us
Well about 13 years ago.
Please try to leak more info for us, we can't wait until the 11th~ we want most of the info now!~
Keep up the good work, Hearthpwn!
It's actually kinda sad that the people at Blizzard are so bad at communication that pretty much nobody ever goes to the actual Hearthstone / Blizzard website, but everyone instead always has to check a 3d party website for news
But indeed, Hearthpwn guys you're doing a pretty good job at compensating for Blizzard :D
Do you guys think that we may get a new rarity category (above legendary), if they introduce these crazy Gods as cards?
(not familiar with lore, so I dont know how crazy they are)
For simplicity's sake, no. But if they are made into cards they'll have to be extremely unique and powerful.
For perspective - One of the Old Gods was supposedly controlling Deathwing, these guys are the pinnacle of power. The more i think about it the less I want them as cards.
Magic did it when they introduced God cards. Many of them were fairly low-costed and Indestructible (few ways to remove them), but had the condition of something called Devotion where you couldn't use them for anything until you had X number of other cards on the table.
Just because they are powerful in the Warcraft lore doesn't mean they will be powerful in Hearthstone.
Blizzard already stated that they don't want to be restricted by lore when designing new cards.
