Reward & Promo Set Cards Restricted to Wild Format
An update has been made to Blizzard's Standard and Wild FAQ which confirms we will not be able to use cards in the Reward or Promo sets in Standard. Additionally, you will no longer obtain Old Murk-Eye or Captain's Parrot from crafting Murlocs and Pirates. RIP Old Murk-Eye.

When Standard format arrives, the Captain’s Parrot and Old Murk-Eye cards won’t be given for collecting their associated classic cards, but can instead be crafted (and disenchanted).
Acquiring the Promo cards Gelbin Mekkatorque and Elite Tauren Chieftain remains unchanged: the normal versions of these cards can still be crafted or disenchanted, while the golden versions were acquired via special events and cannot be disenchanted or crafted.

I'm in a similar boat, but to get the golden parrots I need to spend 3200 dust to craft golden Captain Greenskin. Spend 3200 dust to "save" 3200 dust, ugh.

i actually cracked a golden Greenskin a long time ago and have been hoping to open the other golden pirates eventually, not wanting to DE him until then at the least. i have 2 of the more common ones, but still missing a common, a rare, and the epic unfortunately. doesnt feel right to spend 1600 to craft a golden epic, plus a few hundred more for the rare and common...to get 2 golden yet mostly unplayable parrots, before i don't have the chance to do so...But i will admit that this "GOAL" was nice and something i always hoped to get in reward chest at end of month, and gave me a longterm goal. i know i can't grind to get golden merlon basics before then...but yeah, i am bummed they are removing HOW you get the cards, as it was a fun minigame and i don't like the goalpost being changed on me after chasing it for awhile...removing from standard makes sense, but i think the acquisition change is a mistake. not that big a deal though. charge is broken as is, and they need more taunt and new mechanics to stop face attacks for it to be safer to allow some charge in general...
Murloc OTK Paladin would be God Tier deck in Standard. All the decks that counters it will no longer exists.
There is still Freeze Mage though, as Kezan is also rotated out. Anyfin Paladin cannot do shit against freeze mage. There is no way anyfin paladin can deal with the 2nd iceblock.
Well I completely disagree with that statement. Freeze mage is quite easy to beat as a skilled murloc pally.
All you have to do is pressure them to 1 hp and drop them to 1 hp at fatigue, keep a padded lifetotal (simple with two loh/bots/tsc) and let fatigue do its job. Forget iceblock even exists, you dont even have to worry about pressure. The only way to lose the match is with a nut draw thaurissan/alex kill.
And if we're talking standard, there were many well fitting replacements to the rotating cards in anyfin. The core remained completely intact. Meanwhile freeze lost some key cards like scientist, making it a more clunky deck. Healbot would be replaced by refreshment vendor most likely, although there are a few options available.
And how do you pressure the freeze mage btw? Smart mage wont even let you attack (except bluegill warrior), the rest will never make a dent. the only agressive moves you can do is turn 6 recruit + uldaman the recruit, or using both truesilver to the face.
Other than that, turn 3 aldor or turn 3 warleader will simply eat removal (aldor will get ignored and cleared with blizzard with whatever you drop next). And dont forget that mage has 16 armor, and a better cycle than you
I guess they're doing it to avoid fixing the multiple rewards glitch when you get like 8 Captain's Parrots and disenchant them all.
So I am guessing they will release another murloc in the new expansion or it will be R.I.P. Murloc Pally.
This change is so damn meaningless and dumb i don't even know what to say at this point.
Where's the "I'm indifferent" option?
Blizzard doesn't like big bursts of charge damage, so I'm not surprised they're restricting Old Murk-Eye to Wild.
Really thanks for making this poll. Hopefully somebody in Blizzard's stuff could see that and see how much wrong they are about that topic. STOP RACISM TO MURLOCS.

They Release Anyfin Can Happen and Everyfin is Awesome which were supposed to add value to murlocs and 'create' new decks, and THIS HAPPENS!

They really could have announced this at the start, feels like many people will miss getting these cards as reward if standard is introduced very soon.
buh bye murloc pally. There should be no OTK combos in this game until they give everyone the ability to use the secret counterspell. This isnt magic where you can respond to combos, instead you just have to sit and take it and that is unfun and this is coming from a person who plays nothing but combo in MTG.
on another note, craft them murlocs people there is a free 400 dust in it.
