Hearthstone on ESPN Esports
ESPN, a US-based television channel dedicated to sports, launched their own dedicated Esports portal today, and Hearthstone has it's own section in the navigation in addition to League of Legends and DotA2. There isn't anything really there yet other than a feed of some old wins, but it should be interesting to see what comes of it in the future.

HS Community Communications
Aratil posted on the official forums today asking if holding further Banter with the Blues sessions was of interest to the community. So, is it? In addition to that, what kind of communications do you want to see out of the Hearthstone team going forward?
You can find previous Banter with the Blues back in June of 2014 and February of 2015. We're due for another!

Card Design Competion 3.02 - Kindred Keywords
Our second competition in season 3 of our card design competition is underway! Kindred Keywords is the title for this week's competition which requires you to choose a keyword and make a card which contains that keyword but doesn't use it in its normal usage. Some excellent examples of cards in the current game which follow this are:
- Feign Death - Keyword of Deathrattle, but isn't actually a deathrattle effect.
- Flare - Keyword of Secret, but isn't actually a secret.
- Bolster - Keyword of Taunt, but isn't a taunt minion.
So what are you waiting for? Head on over to the competition thread to read the full entry rules and submit your own creation. Winners get bragging rights and a sweet avatar border for their profile on the forums, plus their creation showcased on the front-page! Posted Jan 18, 2016 (Explorers)I like the use Battlecry, Discover and Deathrattle for the tandem of cards. I wish there were more pairs/trios/groups of cards that worked together for layered strategy than we currently see. I like the names too, great stuff!

Redemption, Duplicate, Ancestral Spirit, Feign Death, maybe even Resurrect or Unearthed Raptor if you're lucky, all would be really powerful and fun combos if you got Watt-son first.

Posted Jan 15, 2016 (Explorers)Banter with the Blues is usually only the community team people on the Hearthstone team and not the actual game developers. They aren't qualified to talk about game balance in the way that people want to hear about it. Really, we need to just see the actual devs join in on it instead of relying on the CMs.
But first, let me answer this question about whether I think waffles or pancakes are better. #HearthstoneCommunityCommunication

Posted Jan 15, 2016 (Explorers)Well, the theme is really nice and funny. 10/10 for that. Yet, their synergy kinda lacks. I mean you have to play it together or they suck. Well, I mean a 2/5 for 3 mana is really good and a 3/2 for 2 aswell, but why would you play such thing just for a card of your opponents class? Murloc Holmes would be good on a murloc deck just by itself, that's it, cos watt-son would not see place in any deck as a 3 drop.
And I saw people saying that its funny because Sherlock comes to investigate Wattson's murder, and yeah that is funny, but it makes no difference in the game. I guess its original and contributed to win the competition, but it doesn't contribute to wiping your opponent's face!
So,nice theme, synergy is mehh, combo is actually not that special, you could get a SR or a Pyro, but you could also get a deadly poison playing as a class with no weaponerinos or a useless minion.
I didn't see the other commpetitors, but I wouldn't say this cards are good at all.
My opinion tho. Not a pro player or anything close to that. I could not be seeing something that makes this cards shine.
