Milling looks more appealing. Mukla, Cho, Prize Vendor, Bob giving coins, Griftah, Steward because why not..
You're so wrong here, just because there is anti cards in the game doesn't make cards unplayable or players who likes them screwed it does however stop them from running out of control so ask yourself when you play the game do you want to play a good or broken deck? Because anti cards by no means stops a deck from being good even very good but it stops them from being broken in fact having counter cards might in fact even make shuffle cards better for those that do enjoy playing them since as long as its not meta defining people rarely do anything against them.
In order for a counter card to be included it must warrant itself a position in a deck and quite frankly if just 5% of the meta is shuffle decks there just is no way to make a good argument to why you should ever include it. A card like Steam Cleaner would have to see a high number of decks to warrant itself a position in a deck of course there are players that might throw it in just because they get fed up on shuffle cards aswell.
But overall unless shuffle decks is like 25% or more of the meta you just won't see alot of Steam Cleaner because if just 10% of the meta is based around shuffle at least I wouldn't play Steam Cleaner since a counter card that is litterly useless in 90% of the games just ain't worth a slot in my deck. It would decrease my winrate in 9/10 games and increase it in one.
You can't have played Standard than because litterly every Rogue deck with extremly few exceptions over the course of the game has had it in them, it's also by far the most impactful card that has yet seen a move away from Standard while other cards has been moved in and out and when it comes to cards that has never moved out of Standard I got no list of what they are but I know that non of them come close to the impact Shadowstep has for decks.
Bulwark of Azzinoth coming in clutch to save us from Protoss Mage when the rotation hits
How many favors do Rogue keep giving the once in charge of the core cards when Shadowstep once again managed to hang on in Standard.
not even Rogues like these cards anymore. Have you seen what protoss cards rogue got for the mini set? anti-shadowstep synergy. All printed rogue legendaries are or were (before buffs) overcosted because of shadowstep...
I swear I didn't even see a rogue playing Shadowstep for like the last 8 months.
I don't know why that card is always the martir of every core set rotation.
I don’t know, maybe… because you’re a Wild player, and Rogues in Wild typically play Aggro Pirates, OTK, or Miracle decks, none of which require Shadowstep.
The only Rogue decks in Standard this year and last year (and every year) that don’t play Shadowstep are Weapon Rogue and Mech Aggro Rogue.
Please don’t argue with me about whether Shadowstep is good or bad. I was simply pointing out that your statement is completely false in the context of discussing the standard format, which is the format for which the Core Set is made.
Well yeah, its a card that limits design space for Rogue for sure and should have been moved away from the start of Standard. The reasons to why cards where HoF'd in the first place I would say Shadowstep check all the boxes for.
shaffar rogue used this
My body is ready for Detailed Notes to discover Mountain Bear with alarming consistency.
Yep
Happy 12th year anniversary to Shadowstep/Prep for making to standard yet again
Guys help me, what exactly did they change with „Immortalized in Stone“?
Changed the order in which the minions summon. Used to start with the 1/2, now you start with the 4/8 and go down in size. So if you only have two board spaces you still get the larger minions.
The order in which the statues are summoned. Instead of summoning the 1/2 first, it now summons the 4/8 first, so in the unlikely event that you have less than 3 spaces on the board left and still want to spend your mana on this card, it is better now than before.
Interestingly, Shaku, the Collector still says "opponent's class" instead of "another class" like basically every burgle card does now (see Swashburglar). Get ready to miss out on synergies if you queue into rogue, I guess.
Steamcleaner back, no more Asteroids or Incindius
It's a bad card. You don't want it in your deck unless you run the greediest list ever.
Well tbh counter cards isnt suppose to be great they are just suppose to be an option to keep things in check and if you watched any major tournaments you would know that most lists that are brought usually have a tech counter card or sometimes even two in them its rarely the same list that are the most popular to copy paste.
Cards like Steamcleaner is amazing addition to the meta in my opinion and unlike popular ideas that they kill decks they don't but they keep them in check. If Astreoids for example or Plagues ever run out of control you have something to keep them down. But as long as the meta don't see them alot people won't tech agains't it either so they still work.
I mean its not like weapon destroying decks hasn't been played because we got ways to destroy them.
Exactly right. Its mere existence is what keeps those decks in check. If incindius or asteroids ever become an overly oppressive deck, then people start running steamcleaner, and easily win those matchups. If those decks arent that good, then it wont matter anyway.. but having options like Steamcleaner around keep those decks from being too good
