I guess this guy just had a loosing streak
People making a big deal over a number. Like what is so special about the number 500 as oppose to 436?
Like...don't you realize the whole celebrating a number is a just cooperate schtick to get you to buy shit and "care" about them?
Like, why would I care that Hearthstone is 10 years old or Blizzard is 30 years old?
Even celebrating your 100th or 1st birthday is just cooperate schtick to sell you cake and presents.
They could have just said, you get a deck of 500 random Hearthstone cards from its history, and it would've been a better brawl.
Or have it randomized between the brawls that just need you to pick a class or something every time you join a brawl this week.
What a time to be alive!
The literal minimal effort.
I used to never miss a Brawl, even if it was a dramatic and horrible experience, as an investment for the next expansion, cause I used to hold the Standard Packs that you get in the Brawls. But now that you get Current Set Packs, two months into the current set, I don't even going to bother to have a bad time in a terrible Brawl for 40 Dust.
why are you opening packs before the next set, mini or otherwise, once you have enough of the current sets
I don't get your Question. I just buy packs the first day of the Set.
The way I used to do it was first day of the set I open the Standard Packs I was saving (Usually around 30) that I earn by playing Tavern Brawls and Events, because I already had all the Commons and Rares from the other standard sets, I only open cards from the new set (with the exception of some Epics and Legendaries I don't own).
Then I buy 30 packs with the Gold I earn from the tavern pass. And that's it. I don't buy any more packs after that. The rest are the packs that I get by doing Quests or progressing in the game. So I just buy 60 packs (+20 packs on average that I get for free doing stuff) and with that I already have every Common, every Rare, and maybe 6 or 7 Legendaries. And I save the rest for the next set.
Since the Standard Packs are no longer a reward, I have half the packs I used to have at the start of each set, and I get instead more packs with a high chances of being a bunch of Dust. And the Dust is terrible outdated. Lets say I play 10 Brawls, I get 10 pakcs, with the exception of some Legendary I don't have and maybe I don't even want, I'm going to get 400 Dust. So those 10 packs are worth a singular Epic card. While the 10 Standard packs are worth 10 packs.
The only reason they are even keeping tavern brawl is because they can monetize it with heroic brawl.... if not for that they would have deleted it like they did to Duels.
Remember when it felt that they were paying attention? They were great days. Blizzard is rapidly becoming EA.
thanks blizzard for this amazing 500th brawl!
Tell me to go f myself, without telling me to go f myself.
You thought there would be something special for the 500th...nope!
Wow, they ACTUALLY did it - nothing!
As a special treat for the 500th Tavern Brawl we get...one of the worst brawls there is and which we had 4 months ago.
Don't know what I expected...
I mean I expected a repeat of something awful. So my expectations were met. 5/5 stars, Blizzard...
I'll add, I had hoped for a three set story similar to Shadows, Ulduum, and Dragons. Or even the Barrens, Stormwind, and Alterac year. Didn't even need a solo adventure to go with it, just a story told through the cards and themes themselves. But couldn't even do that. I still had hope before the Perils mini set because we had some League of EVIL members in the Workshop with one slight reference to Rafaam with Puppet Theatre. Then the second set was a resort run by Marin the Fox. So I had hope we'd see Toggwaggle invading the island resort to get his long awaited revenge for Marin plundering the catacombs, followed by some scheme of Rafaam aided by Lazule, pulling all the EVIL members in to help. But sadly... nothing.
Hell! After the shitty trailer for Whizbang's Workshop, we stopped getting announcement trailers for the sets, and then stopped getting new boards. So I rarely expect anything beyond more cards and more cash grabs now.
Somebody remembers Portals to Another Dimension? The 20th years anniversary of Starcraft that was just a very uninspired reskin on Too Many Portals! with minimal changes. The new Mini-Set is what that event should had been.
It really feels the only reason they keep the Tavern Brawl arround It's to scrape a few coins quarterly from the Heroic Tavern Brawl.
go pick up a football guys
