A patch with a Client Update just went out. This is fixing several bugs, and paves way for future faster response with issues like these.
Quote from BlizzardClient stability is incredibly important to us. Issues that take you out of the game—sometimes literally—are fun-killers that understandably lead to a lot of frustration.
We’ve just released a client update to Patch 31.2, a new version of the last major update, intended to resolve the highest profile issues hurting your play experience. It’s available now on desktop and will be available on mobile devices once approved by their respective storefronts. We expect a marked improvement in performance after this patch and we hope it’ll let you return to the relationship you have with the client when it’s working well—not really noticing it at all.
You might also have seen that we introduced a new server disconnect indicator (the little red circle in the bottom-left part of your screen) so that your client can tell you when you’re not connected to the game servers faster. With today’s patch, we also improved our automatic reporting for desktop device crashes.
As a live-service game, we want you to know that we see this as a continuous effort. Keep letting us know when things aren’t working right! Your reports were a big help in tracking down the issues resolved in this patch.

Bug Fixes and Game Improvements
[Hearthstone] Fixed a bug that caused Titans and Choose One cards to sometimes make the client unresponsive.
[Twist] Fixed a bug where pasting a Twist deck code while missing some of the cards from your Collection could cause a softlock.
[Battlegrounds] Fixed a bug where claiming Battlegrounds Tokens from the Rewards Track could sometimes cause a client crash.
[Battlegrounds] Fixed a bug where using a Battlegrounds Token could sometimes cause a disconnect on the Hero selection screen.
[General] Fixed a memory issue that occasionally caused crashes across modes and devices.
[General] Fixed a visual bug where the disconnect indicator appeared at the end of each game (when you disconnected from the game server, but only because the game was over).
[Progression] Fixed a bug where the Hearthstone Rewards Track would always open to page 3, and the Battlegrounds Rewards Track would always open to page 1.
[General] Minor text changes.
"Quit" button is still not working, I have to Alt+F4 the game. I guess Blizzard really doesn't want us to close Hearthstone...
Update: wow, it actually works! You just have to click the "Quit" button and wait... for 10 minutes.
the DC issue wasn't just in my head? i'm not crazy?!
They really didn't want the game to crash and burn during the Masters, huh?
The battleground tokens were causing crashes too? Lol that's a double L. Imagine not being able to even pay to win kekw
So I wasn't alone with that "mayhem of bugs" 😰
Not only constant "disconnected/offline", spectate mode was so hard to even launch, but
because of that I had to remove for example The Primus from my DK deck, because when I played him, the client was going into that "unresponsive mode", but even If I played him very fast, closed the client & was re-launching/reconnecting very fast - I wasn't reconnecting to that game, but main menu was showing up & the game was already lost 💀
is the ingame event bugged? it doesn't record game count
Only Standard Ranked and Battlegrounds count. You were probably in another mode.
Any compensation for hassling with a client for a week wouldn't be a bad idea. Ppl were losing Heroic Brawl and rankeds... Even a free pack would be nice
Is anyone else's game update taking unusually long? Mine is stuck at "Initializing".
Edit: Finally finished after 30+ minutes update time.
My update is at 58 % - downloading with 0 byte to 3 kilobyte per second....
