I mean, cards look pretty cool, don't get me wrong.
But what is exactly the theme of this season? *Some* of the cards look like are trying to be kinda Cyberpunk-ish, but most of them feel like generic random minions. Specially in Beast that they are all a bunch of bugs that are in the majority reused Tokens from the base mode.
Slimy Felblood felt pretty balanced
Murlocs get a complete rework for the third time or so, while Wrath Weaver is still clocking in since launch...
I actually dislike this demon package. It's certainly not weak, but it's boring. The biggest change here is Mecha-Jaraxxus randomly granting Divine Shield. Impulsive Trickster aside, it's just "get big stats" again. Every other card only has an effect in the tavern, not in combat (ok, there's one demon with taunt). Even Cultist S'Thara gets thrown out.
I don't mind big stats per se. Big stats are cool, but that's basically what Quillboar, Dragons, Elementals, Mechs and Naga do too, just in different ways. Murlocs have the handbuff/handsummon thing (until now), and Undead and Beasts having their token and reborn thing, and beasts even got an extra in-combat damage theme.
I like the flavor of consuming minions from the tavern, but it feels a bit too much like more of the same. Mechanically, it is hardly original anymore.
I'd like to see something like applying debuffs during combat maybe, just to have some more variety to who got the biggest guns.
I'm love with the art in Furious Driver
doctor who reference?
felemental and ryak combo return
Tardy Traveler is a bit confusing at the moment... Do you get a copy of the tavern spell that is currently in your active tavern board, or do you get a random tavern spell up to your tavern level? I'd assume the latter, as it would suck to have an empty tavern for some reason and you sell this to get nothing more than the gold.
Selling a tier 5 minion for a random tavern spell sounds bad. Since we also have Rodeo Performer which does the same but way better
