Hearthstone on X just announced that balance changes will be coming next Thursday. As always, we'll also get a teaser one day before.
Quote from HearthstoneThe team is in the process of finalizing a balance patch for next week.
We’ll have a first look Wednesday and full patch the following day.
Yeah, I like the design of the Oracle too. I can't really think of any nerf-worthy cards on top of my head, I am hoping for a lot of buffs for sure.
They need to nerf the older expansion cards so that the newer cards have room to shine... Buffing cards is not always the good solution as it increases the power level of the game and it is not healthy long-term for the game as it expects future expansions to have higher power level. They need to do a mass nerf to strong cards from Whizbang, Perils, and Showdown.
Well yeah, because that's what the game is now thanks to powercreep over 10 years. You play the most broken minions available to you, hope the opponent doesn't have the answer, and win the game. It's not that I don't know my shaman opponent has meteor storm available to them on turn 6, it's that I hope they don't have it in their hand on turn 6 against my board. If I hold back 2-3 minions in my hand anticipating they have it to build a board afterwards, I didn't put on enough pressure to win the game anyway. Board states and board clears are more swingy than ever, and this is the game we now play in.
Reno is so broken that if you don't play around it, you lose, and when you do play around it, you lose anyway because you can't rebuild a board.
Nostalgia is a heck of a drug isn't it? People don't seem to remember that back in naxx, which was the lowest the "power creep" has ever been due to how new the game was, often times the games were decided on turn 1 when someone drops undertaker and the opponent can't remove it immediately. The game was always swingy, and the power creep is always relative to the meta of the respective time. But it's always easier to blame it on power creep then look at what the fuck actually people are asking for : they want the board to matter more, but they don't want the opponent to have powerful removal for it, so they can't answer and lose the game. It's basically a complaint of losing games more than anything.
It can be copied back in hand for 2 mana and played again. I don't know what amazing deck out there that uses Deathrattle and Reborn that isn't a Reno deck itself (aka deathknight)
People don't know how to build and maintain a board. Plain and simple. The majority of players just dump their minions into the board (a trait behavior learnt from playing cheap aggro decks like Elemental Mage and past). The majority of players don't look at their opponent hand, they don't care what their opponent is playing, don't even know what their opponent are playing. The majority of players just want to play cards and don't want their opponent to play cards aka players want a single player game not a player vs player competitive one.
This is why you get SO MANY anti Reno posts. The funny thing is, if the card is so absurdly and amazingly strong, why haven't it complained about way more in wild then?
The moment a Reno deck uses Reno offensively you need to realize that that you lost the game waaaaaaay earlier.
Starship's problem is not Reno. Starship problem is that they are weak and cost too much to build and launch. Ironically, you need a control deck like Reno decks to be strong so that it pushes out aggro decks so that Starship decks can thrive.
Reno decks have been in decline for a long time now. It can't be that you are seeing too many Reno decks on ladder and getting frustrated about it so it must be just emotions speaking and all you remember is your 30min+ game where you conceded against Reno for removing your +10 starship. Of course you won't remember the 100+ Elemental Mage matches you had because they are all the same and you lose against them by turn 4.
Who cares. They can nerf 5 different fast decks of this expansion, there are 5 more 5% slower in the queue.
All they need to do is make Lamplighter only target Minions. It would still be a good card, but the fact they can just play solitaire essentially and then blast you for ridiculous amounts is so frustrating.
If starships aren’t reworked, the whole expansion flops. They are glacially slow and overall bad.
They should not rework Starships. Instead, they should fix the other problematic cards. If they only buff Starships to make them overpowered to compete with other broken cards, then in the next expansion, they’ll have to print even more overpowered cards to keep up. And in the following expansion, they’ll have to print cards that are even more broken than the ones from the previous set. The power creep will never end. I hate it when they buff new cards instead of just nerfing the old or problematic ones.
One day, they’re going to print a 2-cost 8/8 Charge minion, and people will say, “This is so weak and unplayable. Why would we play this over the old 2-cost 10/10 Charge minion?”
Starships are strong though. Starship druid gains like 100 armor and starship hunter can OTK you with biopod+yodeller for well over 50+ damage.
It's just that elemental mage and quasar rogue kinda run the show.
Guys it's only(approximately) 4 months until Ziliax and Reno are OUT. Who's excited??
Oh no, I forgot Ziliax was released this year but it feels like its been 2 years already. Shieeeet.
the rotation can't come fast enough
So, its preview of preview of patch notes?
I wonder how they gonna destroy Holy wrath Paladin, Other decks are fine just need to delete broken decks
revert highlander warrior nerfs. crazy, hate all you want lmao
NERF ..... Elemental Mage / Zilly (again) / Delete Reno / Quasar ,,, make board presence great again
THANK YOU
You know The Ceaseless Expanse exists right? Once Reno rotates, The Ceaseless Expanse will be the new card people complain about.
The only Reno deck I see on ladder is Reno Death Knight. Not even Reno Warrior. It is funny how much Reno enrages people to the point it dilute their perception of the card.
People complaining about Reno preventing them from building a board today will be the same people complaining about The Ceaseless Expanse with how easy it is to copy and bounce back, preventing them from building a board. These people need to learn how and when to build a board...
