Bolide Behemoth is the card that really makes Asteroid Shaman Broken with Shudder, Though 8 Hands DK counters it.
I like the mage elemental option more than shaman, but these definitely make it much more competitive.
Usually there's one or two gimmicks every set that I'm interested in.
Bomb, Helya, Curse of Agony, Abyssal Curse, Plaguespreader, Bad Luck Albatross, bounce your opponent's minions, burn your opponent's deck, steal your opponent's girlfriend, Wheel of DEATH!!!, Rivendare, Warrider, Alexandros Mograine, that kind of thing.
Basically I want to win but I don't want to hit anyone. The first deck that got me into Hearthstone was Mill Rogue back when Brann Bronzebeard + Gang Up + Shadowstep + Coldlight Oracle was a thing, and I've been looking for variations ever since.
I was optimistic for Barrel of Sludge, Incindius and Aranna, Thrill Seeker but these aren't in decks I want to play so I haven't been playing since Titans.
Shaman's my least favorite class thematically and mechanically but Asteroids are where I'm pining my hopes for this expansion. Hopefully Asteroid + Incindius can be slower, attritional cards instead of OTKs or finishers.
I am digging the concept hard!
I like the archetype. Tho I have to say it. Is hard to me seeing it as better than just playing Incindius .
The Eruptions are just better than the Asteroids. They hit everything, they get bigger. This only hits one enemy, at random. It's like Plagues but unreliable. You can play both, and never is going to be "bad" hit something in the face with a rock (unless that pops a Deathrattle or a Frenzy card) But is weird to see how they just did a better version of this mechanic on the last set. I'm still interested in play it. But it feels more like a Elemental package support than like it's own archetype.
Triangulate feels pretty sweet. It could be a better version of Shadow Visions and Shadow Visions is like in the top 5 best Priest spells of all times, so looks pretty neat. You can even copy the Photographer Fizzle Snapshop, I don't remember my last game when playing the Snapshop was even relevant. 4 Snapshots feels kinda worthless but is cool that you can do it. The same with Mankrik 's wife. Polygamy Shaman here we go.
Incindius is definitely not better. First of all, it’s legendary. It only shuffles five cards, and it needs to stay alive to actually deal more than 2 damage. AoE is definitely better, but being a single, more expensive minion makes it worse. The advantage of the asteroids is that they are cheap and fit into more aggressive decks and make a lot more assteroids.
Triangulate is very good. It’s like Shadow Visions with higher potential but takes longer to use effectively.
You would play both...
finally something controls what to play in the combo and aggro expansion
Im calling it. This is the best set of art Ive seen in HS. The golds are gonna be beautiful. All the spells are so sick looking.
The Signatures have been non-stop bangers too. Each one blows basically any preexisting Signatures out of the water, and yet each one is better than the last.
yeah the signatures are insane!!!
Meteor Storm seems a little odd being as a nature spell I would have guessed fire do have a weakspot for elemental shaman so should be fun playing this all the same though. Maybe the legendary won't make the cut into my deck as I do like the eruption elemental too.
It is because meteors are natural space rocks, which heats up after friction, pressure and thermal chemical reactions. So it is logically a nature spell, because a meteor storm is a phenomenom in space
Also meteors are rocks, and usually everything Earth-related like Earthquake or Earth Shock are Nature spells. Kinda weird asteroids themself are not Nature just for the coherence even if you normally can't play the cards.
So I understand Meteors are made out of rock but so is lava and typically they class those spells as fire. from a science p.o.v meteors reach 3000 degrees F where as lava is 1300-2200 degrees F. But game wise It makes me wonder if it was more a choice made because of the new spells mage will get access too and they already step on each others toes slightly by using elemental decks.
Yeah, but that's is because is on a different state. For example Ice is make of Water, but is Frozen Water, so is Frost, while other Water-related spells are Nature. (Except for Tsunami for most likely balance reasons). And for example Meteor is a fire spell, but Meteors are not made of fire, they ignite when they hit the atmosphere, while in Meteor Storm you can see mostly the rocks.
It's still kinda arbitrary. There is no point in trying to explain or justifing it knowing how inconsistent the game is. Like they making The Curator a mech, even if is not a Mech on lore. So when they added The Purator they don't did it a mech cause they said that Curator never should be a Mech, but they didn't change it, so there wasn't really a point for not making it a Mech if you wasn't going to respet the original source anyway. And quickly after they turned it into a Mech, because fans tell them that even if Arcane Golems (For some reasons) are not Mech, The Purator is based on a Lightforged Warframe which is a Mech in the lore. So they added the Mech tag. From that kind of messy execution you can't expect a lot. So keep in mind that sometimes things on this game are not going to have sense, and you have to deal with it.
lava is fire aligned in WoW lore.
