Yogg is BACK, and so are his anomalies! Check the mayhem out below!
Quote from BlizzardThe denizens of Azeroth are clamoring to the Spiral Isles by zeppelin, ship, or dragon, for the launch of Perils in Paradise. How will you beat the crowds?! Luckily, we have a surprise for you: tickets on Yogg Air, the fastest airline in Azeroth. On this flight, you’ll experience Anomalies that speed up your games so the wait for the expansion launch flies by.
Enjoy Speedier Hearthstone with Yogg Air

- Driven to Greed: Whenever a player ends their turn with unspent Mana, they get a Coin.
- Driven to Excess: Whenever a player ends their turn with unspent Mana, they draw a card.
- Opportunity Knocks: The first card drawn on a player’s turn is one they can afford to play.

This is a perfect example as to why anomolies are shit...total non-game. Dead on turn 3. I realise it's a highroll, but there are already enough highrolls without some bonus shit to chew on...

who asked for this lol? I was under the impression that the general consensus was that no one liked anomalies and everyone constantly complained about them. Me personally, I didnt think they were THAT big of a deal, but I never found them fun a single time and they did annoy me. Terrible mechanic. If you wanna have a 'wacky' random thing happen, they should've done daily ones so you could at least build a deck around it.
Brining back a bad gimmick is not going to garner positive attention for Constructed. You need to grab a fire extinguisher and put out the many wildfires you've started if you want to get positive attention.
What a twist!
I just fucking love having a game ruined by a random effect at the start which favours my opponent and I have no control over....
So.much.fun.
Well that's a card game for you
The effect is for both players. I actually enjoy the possibility of a random effect.
It is a card game - thats true. Card games are already inherantly random due to the nature of drawing cards. You get to control that to some extent by choosing which cards go in your deck.
What the game doesnt need (imo) is more randomness, particularly the sort that lasts the whole game and can completely favour one players deck over the other. We already have twist, brawls, and wild for stupid random stuff. The game doens't need more in standard. I am so happy to see "Both players cards are golden"...
Some examples:
1) first spell costs 1 less - that's handbuff paladin fucked.
2) Start with 2 extra cards in hand - handbuff paladin rejoice!
3) First minion costs 1 less - good luck spell mage.
4) If you end with unspent mana get a coin - wishing well rogue on steroids.
True it's not always fun the anomalies but it's also just a temporary event. For me i dont mind them that much, just my feelings tho
100%? That's great if you like Anomalies, I guess. Sadly, I think they're rubbish.
*shakes head* I'm starting to think that Blizzard is making decisions purely to annoy me this year.
Prediction: Next expansion will be 100% Jade Druid.
Good thing twist is still online. Don‘t like anomalies very much, cause if I play I wanna play my deck as it is. No extras needed or wanted. Last time there was a useless anomalie or it destroyed my gameplan, cause opponent had the better advantage of it.
Quite unexpected; didn't think anomalies would be brought back again and so soon. At first I didn't really like it much but at the same time it felt very much like hearthstone so it's still a welcoming feature in my books. But this time around I'm actually interested in building a deck around these anomalies. Odd/even decks could use a bit of a boost in power, would be awesome to get the hero power anomaly with an even deck.
Actually I don't hate this,
It's how I imagine that Twist/Tavern Brawl should had been. It adds a little of variability without being that disruptive or unfair.
It feels kinda random that this particulary event returns, and that does it now, but Yogg is all about random, and it would be cool if they keep the game fresh with events like this in the space between one set and the other, that is always the less exciting moment to play HS.
That's cool, but my toxic wild opponents will get even more fuel for their toxic shenanigans. I tried to play mostly Yogg decks, random is fun( I heard). But for all my games from first anomaly,I v got only one opponent, with starting hand Yogg, who actually bothered to play it!
That's not Yogg madness, that's some additional Wincon for totem shamans or mech rogues ! Here is some ideas, which could save wild:
Nosdormu effect permanent
Random spell every # turns!
Random minions on both players side in # turns
