Quote from BlizzardThat old scamp Marin has put his questing days behind him and is setting off on a new adventure: resort management! Tucked away in the beautiful Spiral Isles, The Marin is Azeroth’s newest vacation getaway, and it has everything: exciting entertainment, tourist traps, and even some of Marin’s old pirate buddies. Get packed and plan your itinerary, it’s nearly time for Perils in Paradise.
Perils in Paradise launches on July 23, with 145 new cards! You can find the Perils in Paradise reveal schedule and all cards that have already been revealed by visiting the official Card Library. Check back often for more fun in the sun!
New Keyword: Tourist
The Marin is Azeroth’s hottest new Tourist attraction! Each class gets one Legendary Tourist card that lets them vacation to another class during deckbuilding. Put your Tourist into your deck and their destination class’s Perils in Paradise cards get instantly added to the deckbuilding interface, letting you put them into your deck like your main class cards—except for the destination class’s Tourist card; just one vacation at a time.
Here's where each class is heading:
Refreshing Drinks
Grab a tasty drink and keep cool while you soak up the sun in paradise. The Marin has six different drink spells to choose from, each of which comes with two refills.
Exciting Destinations
The Marin also has all kinds of attractions around the island, including six special Locations you’ll want to visit again and again. These tourist traps even open early if you meet their condition!

Nope.
Last expansion they realised the Reveal video before the cinematic too.
Now, the actual cinematic was pretty bad, but it could still technically exist.
Tho It could also don't have one, and it would be I think the first time a Set dosn't has a cinematic. But as somebody that was there during all the history of HS, I had to admit that I kinda get the vibes that they are saving money. Like some Forged cards are just recolors or very slighly edits, instead of full new artworks as they usually do, a bunch of BG minions are literally Tokens of real cards from constructed, instead of the high quality art they make for that mode, so if you have to cut something from the budget I guess the cinematics are the first thing to cut.
And that talking about the main team, I play the game in spanish and is disgusting how neglected is. A lot of cards have gramatical errors (even the fricking Coin), some voicelines are not even translated, there it's two completly different cards with the exact same name. Somebody it's stealing a salary from Blizzard. I don't know how much they paid them, but certainly not enough to bother supervising it.
No Blizzcon, no new games, no nothing.
The crumbling continues.
There probably were cuts of various sorts. We've heard about layoffs, we've seen modes discontinued, we've seen a period over the last two years where almost every patch came with a long list of bugs. But your examples are probably not as significant as you might think.
Battlegrounds always recycled artwork from other modes to some extent. When the mode launched there were just three or so cards not taken from other content. Ghastcoiler, for example, was taken from the Rastakhan's solo player adventure, and it is still in there, after all these years. Glim Guardian is the old Glyph Guardian, which was also originally from Rumble. The fact that almost all BG cards and artwork are mode-exclusive nowadays speaks for the mode getting a fair amount of resources. Not to mention, that (allegedly) it is a lot of work to make ANY new implementation in the mode work at all.
Translations are a bit hard to estimate. It is almost certainly outsourced work, and may also involve automated translations, though it might also depend on the specific contractor for a given language. Thing is, there are numerous stories about translations being inaccurate or plain wrong across multiple languages, and I would assume it's been this way for a long time. I admit I'm not in the mood to change the language and check thousands of cards myself for the other languages I speak, but if they are saving money on translations, they probably have been doing so for a while already and not spend much on it in the first place.
There was a survey around that time that basically asked if people cared about the videos and whether the video influenced their decision to buy the expansion. It's pretty clear how people must have answered.
Priest x Hunter seems so odd hopefully they don't push aggro Priest that's lame :p
I think it's going to be Deathrattle
I want to get excited about Cabaret Headliner but the overwhelming majority of spells Burn Shaman uses are Nature. So all that can realistically do is make Lava Burst a bit more appealing if you played a 4 drop first.
Indifferent towards Tourist as a keyword. Open to being proven wrong with more reveals.
I don't think they make very clear how Tourist works.
You put your Tourist Legendary in the deck, each Tourist is linked to another specific class, and if you do it, you can also add wherever amount of cards from this set, of that Tourist class.
So basically when you add Sunsapper Lynessa to your deck, all Rogue cards from this set (but their Tourist) become "Neutrals".
But the way is explained, sounds like you don't need to own those cards. Which is such an anti-Blizzard move to do, but it says: "Put your Tourist into your deck and their destination class’s Perils in Paradise cards get instantly added to the deckbuilding interface"
It dosn't mention that you can put YOUR cards into the deck, to me sounds like you unlock all the cards of that class just by adding the Legendary. Which would be a nice touch, considering how limited the Keyword really is. But I've play HS for 10 years now, and they don't usually are that generous. So I don't know what to think.
There is zero chance Blizz lets you put cards in your deck you don't own from a new expansion.
If anything this is a sneaky incentive for players to try and own more cards from the expansion, because a class you might otherwise ignore, might suddenly be linked to a class you love, making you buy packs or craft cards for that class cause you "need" them.
So as I Priest, I vacation to...Hunter cards. An odd combo.
And DH to Priest? I interpret this as classes getting very bored and going complete opposite/parallel roles.
Essentially this is a self contained expansion that has zero legacy value to it. What a complete waste of time. The decks will never have access to any different cards for a year and a half. What is the point?
The point is that instead of 10 cards for your class you get 19 for your class. They might not be very GOOD cards for your class, but it does give you more options.
Tourists only allows using the other classes cards from THIS EXPANSION, that being Perrils in Paradise. So you cant include Whizbang shaman cards in death knight.
Tourists are the most blatant pay-to-experience cards ever printed, I hope they are all busts
Druid: I might get some armor cards this expansion
Warrior: WE are getting more armor cards!
I am scared of the future Highlander Deck. With so many options there is nothing holding them back anymore.
Beyond excited. I cant wait to see the other Tourist cards,in particular Rogue.
Excavate Rogue can already generate tons of value, if it gets some nice AoE and/or heals from warlock perhaps can become a legit control deck.
Not Tier1 maybe, but i don't care, i just love playing Tess/excavate Rogue
So basically all cards are dual cards, cool.
I reckon this is a brilliant way to do dual class, really like that its only cards from this expansion, looks promising
