The League of Explorers - Hearthstone's Third Adventure!
The League of Explorers is the third Hearthstone expansion and will be launching Next Thursday!
All new cards added to our database and our deckbuilder!
- The League of Explorers launches November 12th, 2015.
- The adventure costs $20 USD.
- Wings can be purchased separately for 700 gold or $6.99.
- 45 new cards will be introduced through the adventure.
- New Cards: The League of Explorers contains 4 wings packed with fiendish bosses, puzzling traps, and ancient mysteries for you to discover. When you overcome a boss or an encounter for the first time, you will earn brand-new cards for your collection!
- Legendary: When you defeat all the challenges in a wing for the first time, you will be rewarded with that wing’s legendary card – for example, Elise Starseeker!
- Class Challenges: The League of Explorers also includes nine all-new class challenges that task you with using a special pre-built deck to prove your skill. Succeed, and the new class cards are yours.
- New Game Boards: Immerse yourself in the adventure with all-new playing fields!
- Meet the League: Make friends with renowned explorer and fearless dwarven historian Brann Bronzebeard and the other members of the League of Explorers: dashing treasure hunter extraordinaire Reno Jackson, brilliant night elf scholar Elise Starseeker, and gentleman (gentle-fish?) murloc adventurer Sir Finley Mrrgglton!
- New Keyword: The League of Explorers introduces a new keyword that lets you do some digging of your own: Discover! Works kind of like Tracking, but the cards are totally random and are not in your deck. Spell cards will stay within their respective classes.
- Heroic Mode: If you’re ready for a challenge, you can try taking on the Heroic Mode version of any mission that you’ve cleared. This extra-tough game mode is designed for players eager to test their puzzle-solving skills against incredibly powerful opponents. Bring your best deck and your sharp wits.

Nice theme and very creative.
Blizzard, you will not have my money this time (maybe)
they what?
OH THAT EXPLAINS THE RNG!
I like the fact that it's 5 dollars cheaper than previous adventures.
Only 4 wings after all :)
if brann bronzebeard is triggered by a aimed battlecry i.e. abusive sergeant or fire elemental, do you get to choose twice or do both battlecries effect the same target?
Hard to say, but I guess they'll both hit the same target from what the cards read. Then again, some Hearthstone cards do act a bit wierd.
I don't know if these cards may influence the meta largely or even seen in play, but this is absolutely the best adventure/expansion ever.
This is the first time I find Blizzard game designers are creating better things than fan creations here in pwn and at some other sites, especially Reno Jackson.
Maybe their looking at our forum. I know I saw a card identical to Naga Sea Witch in one of the competitions a few weeks ago. I also recall people not liking it.
I'm I the only one not at all hyped about this?
No. The adventure is awesome! So much RNG, fun and coolness in one adventure! Wow :)
Surely made for fun, I'm not so sure about the viability in competitive match. Too much RNG and expensive minions and tokens. Arena gonna be extremely much more interesting and fun. Can't wait!
Wow, after the excruciating wait time between announcement and release of TGT where the hype almost completely died out, this seems almost too short notice to even build any hype to begin with!
Interesting to see that they veer from their standard release schedule so much though, after the time between GVG and Blackrock and then between Blackrock and TGT, one would have expected this to come basically 5 weeks from now. Curious to see if they can keep up the pace or whether this was just an outlier...
And this time good cards only for Rogue? Why Rogue gets perfect cards in each updates/adventures? I didn't see other classes at least 3-4 months in ranked games! Stop it, Blizzard!
how much after tax do you think? anyone?
Use of somewhat random effects does not reduce skill, especially not in the long term. It adds variety and shows how players handle different situations. This has been demonstrated repeatedly, and not recognizing that and not handling it properly isn't your fault.
Also there is no 'gambling' in hearthstone. There's nothing you're trying to get besides maybe specific cards from packs, which people only buy in bulk with money. Any in game reward is purely in game, If you mean tournament play, any tournament player is in it for the long term, and also isn't paying to enter, so your point is entirely moot.
Skill is not in direct opposition to randomness. Learning to work with it is a part of the skill, and it will be deep consideration which of these new cards people will go with, as which random effects would be worthwhile over the long term.
Calm down.
You misread his post. His meaning was that when the dominant cards in the meta have RNG components, it diminishes druids ability to choose the proper outcome with their class cards. I don't really agree with his statement, but he isn't contradicting himself.
I like how there's NO warning so people have more "incentive" to purchase it with money rather than gold they could be saving up for. Classic Blizzard.
I understand where you're coming from but we all knew there was going to be an expansion at Blizzcon. We also were pretty sure it was going to be adventure since the last expansion was a card set.
