The First Co-Op Tavern Brawl!
Hearthstone's first Co-Op Tavern Brawl, Unite Against Mechazod, went live today. The brawl features Uther and Anduin who go head to head against Gearmaster Mechazod, an incredibly annoying Mechano-Gnome. The decks you're playing with have synergy with each other, which can prove to be tough when playing with randoms through the Tavern Brawl function.
Your best luck in winning the brawl will be by playing with friends, which we can confirm was more fun and allowed for some great discussion of strategy. If you and your friend are having issues, try out the following:
- Keep both sides of the field filled with minions, but never reach a full board on either side. Gearmaster doesn't like that.
- Don't run your little guys into Gearmaster, it just ends up giving him less targets to hit with Bomb Salvo.
- Uther has Lorewalker Cho in his deck which will die shortly after it is summoned due to Kill the Lorewalker.
- Try to combo Lorewalker when Anduin has Light of the Naaru. This will give both of you a Lightwarden which gains silly amounts of stats with all the healing that is contained by both players.
- Anduin will want to save Garrison Commander for later on, to buff up those Lightwardens!
- Uther has tons of ways to toss out Divine Shields, so be sure to use them to protect your most important minions! This can end up saving you from Prioritize.
Don't forget though, win or lose, when playing through the find-a-random-dude-you-cant-speak-with function of Tavern Brawls, you will get your free Classic Pack just for trying it out.. even if you concede.
Aggro Druid Deck Analysis
In tonight's "Deck Spotlight" we're doing things a little bit different. KRUPSSTONE, one of our Deck Architects, has put together an analysis on aggro druid rather than a straight up deck guide. As far as aggro decks go, KRUPS believes aggro druid is the deck to beat and it's quite possibly one of the best overall decks in the game.
Baseline the deck is 4300 dust, but based on tech choices, it can change either way. You can find the subject deck of the analysis below, but make sure to head on over to the full deck guide to learn more.

Gifts that Keep on Giving - Finalist Voting Phase
Whether you're giving out candy to trick-or-treaters for Halloween, planning your Thanksgiving canned food drives, or wrapping presents for your Winter-Solstice-adjacent Holiday of choice, it's getting to be that season of year marked by generosity and the giving of gifts. It is in this spirit that we bring you this week's Card Design Competition, where contestants were tasked with creating cards that give minions to your opponent.
Visit this week's Finalist Poll Topic to vote for your favorite entries and help us determine who'll be presented with this week's prize.
When i first saw Assassinate on an empty board i was like: Oh, here we go, that IA from practice mode all over again...
Yesterday i had the feeling random teammates were better and better :)
nah... your asking too much of them.... lelz :X
What happens if the board is full?
Oh, got it. He uses a card to do it or just clears and play one?
when he flips to the side where its full. he clears the board. the easy fix is to keep room for 1 more unit aka the boss. also pray ur team mate is not dumb enuff to populate ur side of the board full using some card, which would proc a board wipe when he flips ur side.
Every time I see him play Assassinate it always hits either the most recently buffed card, or the most threatening Legendary on the board. Also, if the other player disconnects, you get a win! That actually happened on my first game.
Assassinate is not a random card so he always targets the minion with the higher attack. If there is two or more minions with the same attack he destroys the first one played.
Flux, why broadcast that you can earn a reward by conceding? I get that this is information based but really?
I have noticed 9/10 times his random damage spell ends up hitting the most threatening thing on the board so I dont think its as random as they make it out to be.
3/5 for now...
Using Bolvar Fordragon can help too
Assassinate :(
I agree, RNGesus were with us this time
A lot of fun, I hope they follow up with more brawls like this in the future.
One fine thing is that the quests like win x amount of games win priest/paladin does not get recognised by the game when you actually kill mechazod
That is so odd that it didn't for you, I had two quests for Priest and Paladin wins, and completed them both in this Brawl.
Same. I had no problems with my dailies or getting 3-win gold. I'm sure you're actually winning your games. Try submitting a ticket, this could be a big issue.
Great brawl!
