Adjustments:
I don't get the Battlegrounds nerfs. Basically all spell generators and some value spells get a hit. They are strong, but in how many games do you even see these going off?
Yes, I have won games on the back of spells, after I survived at 4 HP and getting a ghost instead of facing another round of Tokens & Divine Shields, which is basically the only remaining strategy in Battlegrounds. Tokens & Divine shields every single opponent, Tokens & Divine Shields every single game.
I couldn't care less about micro-adjustments to mechanics or effects that might be a bit too strong in the lategame, when the overall experience in the first 10 turns is so utterly miserable. At least the Divine Shield dragon gets nerfed (probably raised to T3) but what about Phaerix?
And how can you nerf Motly Phalanx even further?!
I like most of the things listed for buffs/nerfs, but I'm really worried about the warlock sludge buffs. It's already a sneaky good deck without much in the way of counters.
You called it a truly degenerate deck
and Sif stays as is....
I miss The Garden's Grace on the nerf side but I do think they targeted two good choices for nerfs especielly Keeper's Strength is to efficient of a board clear.
As far as Mana Wyrm goes I think its a bad choice for a nerf, I don't mind if they touch Mage but I do think there are way better options for nerfs than the Mana Wyrm. Would be if it goes down to a 1/1 minion or so that could work but as a two mana I think its hard to make a proper argument to have it in the deck since you can get spells from other places. Would rather touch Miracle Salesman down to 1/2 than touch the Mana Wyrm.
As far as the buffs goes I think its a bad idea to buff cards that actually see play, don't think any of the cards that will recieve buffs really do need them. I think the focus should primarly be to target problematic cards to tune decks down when you buff/nerf stuff not buff perfectly fine cards.
Doctor Holli'dae from strong to unplayable in 10… 9… 8… 7… 6…
That's a card that'd actually very easy to nerf, while still maintaining it being a good card. It's just insane value if your opponent doesn't have a viper. Take away a few charges and it's probably fine.
Except isn’t it called Staff of the Nine Frogs or something? Flavor-wise, I doubt they would change the charges. I bet he goes up by one mana.
It looks like it's the Staff itself that's getting changed, not the Doc, so I'd assume it goes to 1 Attack.
God i hope its just going to 6mana. Please dont nuke this card blizz
Highly doubt it will be unplayable, its hard to see any nerf that directly would kill the card it will still be a strong card and If I was a betting man I would put my money on a 5>6 mana nerf. Alternative they will lower the health of the card to 3 or 4. Neither change would kill the card.
So what? Most decks play with Viper because there are other good weapons in the meta right now too. It’s a nerf that is not needed... at all.
a control priest deck wrecks highlander shaman, not sure Dr needs a nerf at all. buffs to others would keep it in check. Also just run weapon removal
Whenever Hearthstone players defend certain cards and decks with "this one specific deck beats it" and "just substitute one of cards in your completely optimized deck with a niche tech card", they just further illustrate that the nerfs are necessary.
Ignoring the fact that A) Control Priest, especially Reno Control Priest, has an atrocious matchup spread, and B) That tech cards have never made a busted card not busted. Even when half the meta ran Rustrot Viper in early Alterac it didn't stop Lightforged Cariel and Runed Mithril Rod from being two of the strongest cards at the time.
Even the most insane decks in Hearthstone history had counters you can't use arguments like that as a valid point for not nerfing something you must check a wider range of decks.
Staff of the 9 frogs is not broken. It’s a very slow card, that doesn’t do much until it’s been around at least 5 turns. By then, most games are over.
Warlock Buffs, nice.
I am ok with the changes. Especially with my golden doc holiday that i dont use.
Where Sif?
