This with Power Chord: Synchronize can be potentially be quite powerful. Add Celestial Projectionists to your deck and who knows? Not entirely convinced though.
I like the cards but I just don't see it. Fun though
Resurrect ogre and creating an ogre tribe just for one card would be so much better, it would make so many cards interesting
I think Ogre-Gang Outlaw will actually see play in aggro decks. You're just playing it for the stats and likely 50% chance at face damage on turn 3.
Yeah, a 4/4 with rush is likely to kill any minions it hits on turn 3, and if it goes face that's a nice amount of damage and still a solid threat on board for them to deal with. Lots of upside, little downside.
I guess ogre is next battlegrounds tribe... I was hoping for worgens
Well they seem to not want to make minion types out of the "allied" races. Meaning worgens as well as any playable race in wow are unlikely to happen.
Nice for rogues. Some shadow steps or return to hand memes.
as if unlimited yogg titan was not enough lol
I can finally make Ogre big priest in Wild
It's actually quite the opposite! 2-headed Ogres are usually smarter than their 1-headed brothers, and they often practice magic! (see Ogre Magi Cho'gall)
Ogres are pretty meme minions but the legendary payoff is an absolute ton of stats, all of which have rush (we just live in "everything has rush" hearthstone now lol). If you manage to pull off the 3-4-5-kingpin combo that's pretty backbreaking to deal with on curve. It's like a mini n'zoth with random-rush.
The coinflip on the ace getting divine shield is backbreaking if it doesn't happen though, not sure I'd be willing to take the risk.
Rider seems terrible. Outlaw and Ace are good and decent. Kingpin is easily worth it even if just two of them died.
And yet I am damn unsure about them. Should they survive a turn with windfury it's game. If they get cleared instant you've put a truckload of work (and cards) into more or less nothing.
So do the Ogre gang members need to die earlier before they can be resurrected?
Or Does the legendary just summon the other three every time?
If its the former this seems quite terrible.
I mean if they didn't have to die first it would've said "Summon" instead of "Resurrect".
it's not 3, it can be 6, and if you can replay the legendary (like priest can play it 4-5 times in 1 game) the entire board will come back again and again and again
Yeah, here's what you do with res ogre priest: you run just the legendary and the outlaws that have a 50% chance of going face, so you can keep resurrecting them. Then you repeatedly play the legendary to summon a full board of them with Windfury. That's up to 48 damage per turn, which can go face.
It's not an OTK since you need to aim for their minions with only a 50% chance of it missing, but it's probably still pretty strong and annoying, and if they don't clear your board constantly you're potentially dealing tons of repeat damage that will accumulate over time.
I don't know what to think about this.
Besides Ogre Brute which was just linearly powercreeped, I always though that the 50% Flavor was related to Ogres having 2 Heads that don't agree with each other, but looks like the effect is cause, they are dumb, I guess.
It's a pretty big package to run, for basically playing a bunch of unreliable Rush minions but the minions aren't super terrible and the payoff is quite strong for a 6-Mana 6/7 body. But I don't know. You used to play Kargal Battlescar cause the Watch Post were strong, but I don't know if you are going to play the Ogre-Gang cause Kingpin Pud is strong. Could be, puts an insane amount of stats for the cost after all, is basically a "clear the board or lose" scenario. Outlaw can even go face as long as your opponent has at least one minion.
I mean, I was looking at them, and wondering if Ogre-Gang Ace is actually worth running in any old deck, even without the others. It's a 5/4 rush that can contest quite a lot of things, and it either heals you for 5 or lives through the attack unscathed for your opponent to deal with. That seems pretty nice.
And honestly, I hope this is the start of an Ogre rework or more tribe like approach to them. Ogres are funny and if they can be made to be passable to play, then I don't mind building an Ogre deck and having some fun for a bunch of games, even if my winrate is going to be questionable.
Murlocs are not always good, but I still bust out my murloc deck every so often, just to Mrggll some fools. I hope this can be the start of something like that for Ogres. They don;t HAVE to be just memes.
That poor donkey :(
Rise up, Ogrechads.
