the only soulcage death knight is in is the 3 rune archetypes being better than any combination one still
So already broken Mech Rogue gets even more support and Plague DK gets nothing? Wow.
Boring cards.
No plague support is a joke
Soulcage could be alright an aggressive deathrattle-based deck, targeting things like eggs. 5 Corpses is a lot though.
Grimewalker looks bad. Sure, it's great if it sticks, but a 2/4 won't stick in 2023 Hearthstone.
Runes is only good in an aggressive deck, and those generally don't run Blood.
So Death Knight will be even more broken and unbalanced in Arena. Nice. All 3 of these cards are fantastic in Arena. They have the strongest Arena cards so far.
no plague DK support and even the cards here are so bad.
Sinister Soulcage corpse cost is absolutely ridiculous, there is no way you can utilize it on turn 4 without very inefficient set up. Still, the card would be interesting to play with Mosh Pit but by the time you get the corpses your opponent will probably have lethal.
Without more support for extremely weak plague archetype they should at least revert discovery restrictions for dk.
I think runes is kind of a sleeper. There's very few dk weapons, they're on average pretty great, and most of them have an on attack or on kill effect that goes well with the extra durability. Paying 2 mana for a 3/3 Bone Breaker early-mid game sounds nuts. A 6/3 Corrupted Ashbringer for 18 damage and 18 heal. It looks strong at every stage of the game you have three corpses on hand. I think this slots into any deck with a blood rune.
This is dissapointing, honestly. Was hoping for direct plague and/or rainbow support.
Grimewalker is a much needed board clear piece for pure Unholy but the other 2 are weird
Soulcage and Distressed Kvaldir can work together but i'd rather use Boneshredder instead for that extra deathrattle
And Runes of darkness...Why is it blood? ohhh so you can't run it in a plague deck for Primus' staff
Climactic Necrotic Explosion never looked better i guess!
unfortunately CNE is the worst ever, even if you manage to buff it, you just get a mediocre finisher for heal, the souls dont even have taunt. it just sucks.
but I like the new additions of cards, there not awesome but I would try them.
At least one interesting Discover card. Of course I'm not surprised anymore that of course most are rather boring normal cards. I really hoped for some really cool awesome fun crazy stuff in a mini-set about Yogg-Saron, but... I guess the competitive side to Hearthstone is still too strong or rather the casual side has actually become weaker and weaker over the years. At least it sometimes really feels this way. And when it's a mini-set about the one most amazing thing that has ever come to Hearthstone but most cards just feel like "whatever" it's certainly one of such times.
.
Need more plague support cards....
Runes of Darkness and Sinister Soulcage look like solid cards for a very hypothetical and very non-existing rainbow dk.
Sickly Grimewalker has synergy with your hero power at least. I don't think it works with Hardcore Cultist though.
If works like Hawkstrider Rancher, Hardcore cultist gain poison before trigger her battlecry, and is a good combo on plage dk
These seem pretty poor compared to everything else we've seen.
Sinister soulcage is only player with the 5 corpse requirement, but that's a huge requirement even for an unholy deck.
Sickly Grimewalker is OK hard removal at 5 mana (assuming no taunt) but it isn't good and doesn't really fit an unholy deck theme.
Runes of darkness is just bad imo but who knows. Maybe it will be decent in practice as a first turn play into a 2 mana weapon...
Sickly Grimewalker with Wild Pyromancer though xD
True - but it's just a worse version of equality pyro and still need's a spell to trigger it pushing it back at least a turn (turn 6 vs. turn 4 for paladin).
That said, unholy doesn't have much in the way of board clears, so maybe it does find a home.
