All of the cards look pretty fun to me.
The cards in this mini-set are all rubbish!! I play wild mode more, I didn't find it interesting at all! Blizzard has an outdated and bankrupt lead designer!! I won't spend money here!! Until later!!
Securitybot seems decent in Dancing Paladin and pretty much nowhere else.
Keeper's Strength might make a control style Paladin viable. Being able to clear the board and also develop a threat is extremely powerful.
Muscle seems weak. You are spending turn 2 doing nothing and turn 3 playing a 2/4.
Why is Alarmed Securitybot worded "draw another minion" and not "draw a minion" ?
It means that it won't draw another Alarmed Securitybot, I believe.
And once again no fun cards like you would expect from a Yogg themed mini-set. At least the tendril stuff looks fun and Cho'gall with the anomalies sounds like it could be really fun. But about anything else is just the usual competitive... well, you know. I really don't get it, but I understand there are people like that. But come on! It's a mini-set about Yogg-Saron! Could there not once be a small break to all this competitive stuff? I guess not. At least the first week will be awesome. Although I almost feel bad for the more competitive people. This is why I wish there would be like one competitive Hearthstone and one just for the fun casual people like me, but... oh well.
This mini set is actually a fun-based, RNG-heavy one.
some complain about RNG not being competitive, others complain about competitive cards not being fun. Well I guess there are always people complaining…
???
Fun-based, RNG-heavy? Do you refer to what I mentioned, the tendrils and Cho'gall? Yes, this mini-set is at least somewhat better than the usual stuff.
But look at those Paladin cards. What about those is "fun-based, RNG-heavy"? The only RNG is the securitybot drawing a "random" minion. And that's it.
Here's what I would've liked to see in those cards:
Alarmed Securitybot - Deathrattle: Cast random spells worth as much Mana as this minion's Attack at random targets.
Keeper's Strength - Give a friendly minion +2/+2. Cast random damage spells worth as much Mana as its Attack at random enemies.
Muscle-o-Tron - Cast random buff spells worth as much Mana as this minion's Attack on random minions in your hand. Forge: Do it twice.
Fun-based and RNG-heavy isn't necessarily the same.
HS for casual people is pretty much Tavern Brawl and Duels
Yeah, fun is subjective.
It's just that those - like so many others in this mini-set - look like your average "competitive" card. If I would see those cards the only common theme I would recognize would be the "old gods" theme in the card art. Nothing there would make me think "This is a card from a Yogg themed mini-set/expansion" and that's already rather sad.
But most importantly really is how "boring" those cards always look. Drawing a minion and setting its stats and cost to 5? Buff a minion and potentially dealing massive AoE damage? Giving minions in your hand some stat boosts? To be fair the buff AoE damage spell is at least creative. But even that is "always the same all the time".
I mean you do need those "boring" cards, but we already have plenty of them. Where are the actual interesting and fun cards?
At least we've got the tendril stuff and Cho'gall. But nothing else in the mini-set is very "Yogg-like" IMO. That's what I meant.
I have to say that it's weird that Yogg doesn't have the craziest effect of the expension, but Cho'Gall does :D
Only 25% of the time though. (50% if both people like to have fun) But that said you might never even get to draw and play the new Yogg whereas Cho'Gall is always active when it activates. In that sense Cho'Gall is actually... way better than Yogg for just fooling around and having fun! What. Woah, that... is pretty crazy. But of course why wouldn't you run both anyways and this is a mini-set so if you buy it you're gonna have both. But yeah, I think if I had to decide on the most fun card for this mini-set Cho'Gall probably would beat Yogg and his tendrils.
Keeper's strength has a floor of 6 mana 3\3 deal 3 to every minion which is already an OK card
Well It's comparable to Shadowflame which used to be very good, but the fact that it hits even friendly minions is downside for most paly decks I think. But it's good control tool I guess
