Currently the only notable board presence priest has is with undead minions, and unless the last three cards are all really powerful non-undead minions (mech priest? lmao), which in this case Shadow Word: Undeath is much better at maintaining board presence and tempo. I'm just struggling to see where serenity will see play given the better board clears priest has across all archetypes.
Is the -2 Attack a permanent debuff though? It does not say this turn only.
That...is a pretty good point. I think it should be permanent, every card with a temp debuff usually says "until X turn(s)" in the text.
It is permanent. Because it dosn't says "this turn"
Just imagine that is like Fiendish Rites but instead of give +1 to you gives -2 to your opponents.
Priests yearn for the AoE board clears.
Serenity is probably better than it looks. It's 2 Mana cheaper Mossy Horror that doesn't hit your own board and the debuff is permanent unlike Curse of Weakness and basically saves you more Health than Holy Nova since each minion that survives deals 2 less damage face and Holy Nova restores just 2 Health. Problem is that it's strong in the earlygame and then it doesn't do much.
But at least in Standard it's one of the better removals right now, I'd say
Isn't this just Shadow Word: Horror with a small bonus on top? For 1 more mana Clean the Scene seems far superior to this.
Serenity only hits enemy minions. Might not mather for Control Priest but can be useful for any other priestdeck that needs board presence.
I think people underestimate serenity. Holy nova struggles with the 2/3s and 4/3s that your shadow priest opponent plays consistently. Here, every enemy is at least kept somewhat in place. It's still "destroy all enemy minions with 2 or less attack" which was a 4 mana card once. It's not great and it's meant for anti-aggro, but your control deck needs such cards
Serenity is basically modern psychotherapy. Overpriced, weak (because barely anyone believes it works anymore) and instead of helping, tries to neutralize you by bringing down your fighting spirit.
You have obviously no idea about psychotherapy. It’s proven to be as effective as medications for treating depressions eg. I know that because I studied medicine instead of repeating wrong claims from the Internet.
prove it then, because I studied quantum physics instead of pretending I studied medicine on the internet without proof
Serenity seems a bit weak, but it could see play under the right circumstances.
Grace seems awful.
There are very few cases where holy nova is not better than serenity
These cards are bad, way over costed. An 8 heal for 3 mana?
Remember Healing Touch ?
3 mana heal 8 without an upside. How far we've come :D
You gotta love these just horrible takes on Hearthpwn.
"A 8 heal for 3 mana!?"
So we're just leaving off half of what the card does, then evaluating it. Got it.
I guess the problem is that if you acually use the full 8 healing, then that is all the card does.
I'm not saying it's a fair way to evaluate it though (clearly it isn't)
I'm not sure but maybe you still discover a 0-cost card
I dont think so, because you haven't overhealed by any amount. Minimum mana cost has to be a 1 mana spell.
