Aren't you proving what I said? And you're backtracking and changing what you said to save face. Look at what was quoted from your post about your knowledge of the "truth" which even Blizzard is ignorant of. You don't need to save face with a bunch of internet people you'll never meet. That's just odd. You've got more issues than a magazine rack.
So we're both replying to each other but I'm the one who's not being productive about it. That's pretty convenient, I'd say :).
How am I backtracking? Compare my original statement about being skeptical towards corporations and tell me what I've changed from both versions. That's make for an interesting read when you suddenly realized I've been saying the same thing all along and you embarrassed yourself by jumping to conclusions after misreading.
I can't help but notice you've left out the whole argument about what you consider ''productive'', guess you decided to drop that one since it wasn't really going anywhere, was it? You've gone to a new Ad Hominem this time around. What are my issues based on those two messages I've written?
Since we're on the topic of issues, why do you spend your time trying to put other people down on Hearthstone forums? I'd argue that's definitely something worth looking into, and that's from someone who has more issues than a magazine rack!
This mentality is pervasive on here. It's the same logic conspiracy theorists use. They have some secret knowledge that only they know and they can see the big picture better. You can see it when the guy talking about the truth as if he knows it better than everyone else. Just like every other paranoid delusional out there.
They also take personal offense to any evidence to the contrary. It's truly a miserable place to be and why they have to spend all that time writing a super long post that adds up to "I'm right because I said so." The world would be a better place if he used that energy for something actually productive.
Could you explain a couple of things please:
a. Is your own message productive? If so, how? How do you determine what's productive and what isn't, and why should your opinion on the matter matter? Who is to decide what's productive and what isn't? Based on whose standards? Yours? Because your own message it comes across as judgmental and patronizing. I'm pretty sure this disqualifies you to lecture anyone about doing something "productive". Do people need to constantly be productive? Why?
b. What's a conspiracy about what I've said? I've said that people should be skeptical about the way corporations describe their own products. I'd say that's about as measure and reasonable as it goes. In other words, it would more simple to say that developing BG doesn't have an impact to the main game than starting to argue with the userbase that it's "worth it".
A forum to discuss Hearthstone is where people come to discuss Hearthstone.
Did anyone else watched the stream for 1h and didn't get the Bronzegill portrait? I did it yesterday and still waiting. It does appear as if I got it in Twitch drops though. Weird, since I got the Xyrella one instantly in the game last time
I waited for 2 days to get it
I get what you're going at but sometimes the pessimism can be a bit extreme here, damn. They're just regular folks doing their jobs which they are probably very passionate about.
Battlegrounds just got +- 50 new cards and a bunch of changes to existing ones. Main Hearthstone gets close to 180 new cards 3x a year.
Also, the devs have told us many, many, many times that development on separate game modes does not affect development on the core game modes. Stop throwing such a tantrum over nothing.
From a resource standpoint, his « tantrum » might be justified. This is from the Hearthstone wiki:
Note that the quote dates 2017, they’re way more than 15 people now. I think it’s fair to think that whoever we’re working on mercenaries got reassigned since it was dropped = resources reinvested elsewhere, I doubt they were fired. In other words, although the people who work on BG most likely focus on BG, they were working on the main mode before BG was created. Unless they just hired new people to work exclusively on BG, which is also possible.
It’s quite possible that you only need a set amount of people to work on the core mode but keep in mind that they went from 15 at creation to more than 70 now:
Introducing new modes means three things:
a. Hiring more people to work on it.
b. Redirecting people to the new mode.
c. More than likely, a mix of both.
Even if they did hire people to work exclusively on BG, from a corporate standpoint, it’s resources being invested in something else than the core mode. Considering how slow patches are rolled out, the people working on core mode might be short staffed as it is.
In conclusion, it’d remain skeptical as to what a corporation PR says, it’s not gospel, they’re not your friend and they’re certainly not driven by the truth.
Still the most played mode across all modes and easily the most fun to play.
So they should make it its own game, in its own client. Like what happened with DOTA.
also pure skill + rng and easy to get into , unlike hearthstone that is either grind or p2w deck copy
I know for a fact that Jia, from the dev talks and who used to be one of their e-sports commentators, was recently hired specifically to be a Battlegrounds designer.
It's easier to keep it within the same client for sales purposes. Blizzard keeps everything together like that and only separates when it's a brand new product.
