The HearthPwn Tavern Is Closing Its Doors
March 23, 2013 is a date that will be hard to forget.
Almost six years ago I was brought on by Curse as the Community Manager of HearthPwn. Part of the job entailed keeping everyone up to date with the latest news out of the community, and today I am with deep regret and sadness to give you one of the final updates HearthPwn has to offer, words that are difficult to type together - we are closing the doors to our Tavern.
HearthPwn will be closing its doors on June 28, 2019, 2257 days after our journey began. It is on this day you will no longer be able to add new content to the site.
Although our doors may be closing, we’re going to keep the windows open. The history of our site, all the posts, decks, and other content we all have created over the years will be archived and still viewable to those who want to see it. Creating new content will be disabled, our news will no longer be updated.
We’ve all been through a lot together over the years and I’m going to miss delivering content to you all as fast as possible, especially the sleep-deprived card reveal periods. Our amazing deck guide writers over the years have created some of the best content this game has ever seen and educated many new players in new archetypes. I’m quite happy all that content and history will still be accessible because there’s quite a bit of unique content.
Our Fan Creations section with the weekly card design competitions has some of Hearthstone’s most dedicated fans and gave way to some of the coolest card designs and always lead to questions of “Is Blizzard crazy enough to add something like this to the game?”. Only time will ultimately tell, though considering we did end up with Genn and Baku, anything is truly possible if you set your mind to it.
Speaking of those that really put their mind to it, our wonderful selection of forum trolls. You all made us work relentlessly, testing the limits of our moderation system, but you too brought a special charm to the site. Those midday laughs when we couldn’t believe you were at it again are uncountable
I could name so many of you who have improved my life in some way through HearthPwn but I can’t do that for I fear I’d miss out on someone. Even those people I never interacted with directly, there’s a good chance I read something you posted or created and thought highly of it or had a good laugh. Thank you so much for all the heartfelt and informative messages throughout the years, you’re the reason I go through madness to make sure card reveals every expansion were delivered as fast as possible.
I’d like to invite everyone to leave a message in the comment section below. What was your favourite HearthPwn memory? I’d also like to invite you to my Discord server where we can all still keep in touch, talk Hearthstone, and go crazy with card reveals even after HearthPwn closes its doors. I'll also be around on Twitch today talking about memories with y'all.
Stay awesome,
Robert and the HearthPwn Staff
PS. Myself and the moderation team will all still be around until the end. Expect to see continued coverage of the remaining adventure chapters and more. Thank you.
PPS. We still need to declare a winner in our last ever class creation competition.
An update I'd like to add from the MTG Salvation shut down message. Like them, we are also continuing with another project. You may find the old team on Out of Cards.
Quote from Feyd_RuinThe answer to the inevitable question of why is complex, but deserves a response. Our owners have expanded on to other projects, launching such epic endeavors as D&D Beyond. As these have taken off, the development team has shifted focus and simply does not have the time and resources for us that we require. They can simply no longer justify the development, infrastructure, and maintenance costs of the site compared to their other projects.

Dear Hearthpwn,
Where do I even start? I guess I'll just keep this brief.
I remember a little rant I gave with Call of the Wild not being meta viable back in K&C. Guess Hunter did stabilize after all, am I right?
Really sad to see this site go, had fun making experimental decklists and tuning in everyday for the new cards. It made for such great memories of refreshing the site everytime just to see something like Conjurer's Calling be revealed and getting hyped for expansions.
Hopefully this community can be replicated as such or even made BETTER on Out of Cards. But for now, I'll just have to see what will come from the last month of Hearthpwn's lifetime.
Best Regards,

Feelsbadman loved using this site :(, best of luck to the team running the joint in their new projects and endeavors!
I've been using this site for more than 5 years now. I've played a lot of decks that I found on here, and I've also uploaded over 25 decks of my own.
This site has been one of the main reasons why I've continued to enjoy playing Hearthstone for all these years.
My thanks to the team behind the scenes, for creating/maintaining the site throughout the years, and I hope that the "Out of Cards" community eventually grows to the same size as this one.
This made me sad. :'(
I was enetring this site every day since it starts and i am playing hearthstone since beta started, but i have never been a registered user here.
I registered 17.6.2017 and now when it will be 2 years this site will be closed.
I am glad you was here for us.
Sincerely
Your user JaVe - Member for 1 year, 11 months, and 12 days.
Barely used this site other than during prerelease events and for some deck building but damn even I got hit
This makes me sad.
So sad to read this post. Hearthpwn was my daily read for HS news and other content. I wish good luck to all the team behind this site and all the best from now on.
Is there any hint for if there will be a new site to replace Heathpwn?
Yes, we (Flux & mod team) are continuing on an independent site, outof.cards. We will bring you the latest news with the same (if not better) quality than here. Feel free to check out the site!
All that clout built for nothing :(
This is really hard to read. This site is so clear and you can see how much time the team spent on this site. This is the only hearthstonesite I visit, except one german site. I really will miss it. But I for sure will visit the new site.
Thanks a lot to the hole team. I really enjoyed to discuss with other people here and take a look at some funny decks from other players and tried them out. Also all the informations around HS was something I really liked and I checked out all day for new ones. But what I most liked is the expansions part, where all the new cards are shown in the right order of class and rarity. That was so clear compared to other sites. Good job guys!!!
Could you reveal to us what the secret site achievements were before you close ?
I’m just curious about what I was never able to figure out or accomplish.
Just make decks with all the Legendary cards there are - that should give you quite a few at least ;-)
I remember this, that was a good argument but there was no way I was joining it lol.
Surprising, but I hope Hearthstation will be back sooner rather than later so we can have a Hearthpwn replacement.

It's simple hate me for that but the game is dying slowly in my opinion and people do not want spend more time in small indie company like activision blizzard. I'm sad because I love hearthpwn even hating/loving this game so much. I'll miss you guys, for any content. Peace and good luck !
Dear Hearthpwn team,
Every reveal season, my day would revolve around checking this site to see what cards had been revealed and even out of season, I check in daily for news and such. Hearthpwn has been a consistent part of my life and it's loss is a heavy blow to me. I honestly don't know what I'll do without it. It's been fun and I want to thank all of the people who worked to make it what it was: a perfect website and community for Hearthstone related content. Goodbye and best of luck to you all.
PS: Big thanks to Neonangel. Your adventure walkthroughs were really well made and helped me out a lot.
Sincerely Yours,
