The HearthPwn Tavern Is Closing Its Doors
March 23, 2013 is a date that will be hard to forget.
Almost six years ago I was brought on by Curse as the Community Manager of HearthPwn. Part of the job entailed keeping everyone up to date with the latest news out of the community, and today I am with deep regret and sadness to give you one of the final updates HearthPwn has to offer, words that are difficult to type together - we are closing the doors to our Tavern.
HearthPwn will be closing its doors on June 28, 2019, 2257 days after our journey began. It is on this day you will no longer be able to add new content to the site.
Although our doors may be closing, we’re going to keep the windows open. The history of our site, all the posts, decks, and other content we all have created over the years will be archived and still viewable to those who want to see it. Creating new content will be disabled, our news will no longer be updated.
We’ve all been through a lot together over the years and I’m going to miss delivering content to you all as fast as possible, especially the sleep-deprived card reveal periods. Our amazing deck guide writers over the years have created some of the best content this game has ever seen and educated many new players in new archetypes. I’m quite happy all that content and history will still be accessible because there’s quite a bit of unique content.
Our Fan Creations section with the weekly card design competitions has some of Hearthstone’s most dedicated fans and gave way to some of the coolest card designs and always lead to questions of “Is Blizzard crazy enough to add something like this to the game?”. Only time will ultimately tell, though considering we did end up with Genn and Baku, anything is truly possible if you set your mind to it.
Speaking of those that really put their mind to it, our wonderful selection of forum trolls. You all made us work relentlessly, testing the limits of our moderation system, but you too brought a special charm to the site. Those midday laughs when we couldn’t believe you were at it again are uncountable
I could name so many of you who have improved my life in some way through HearthPwn but I can’t do that for I fear I’d miss out on someone. Even those people I never interacted with directly, there’s a good chance I read something you posted or created and thought highly of it or had a good laugh. Thank you so much for all the heartfelt and informative messages throughout the years, you’re the reason I go through madness to make sure card reveals every expansion were delivered as fast as possible.
I’d like to invite everyone to leave a message in the comment section below. What was your favourite HearthPwn memory? I’d also like to invite you to my Discord server where we can all still keep in touch, talk Hearthstone, and go crazy with card reveals even after HearthPwn closes its doors. I'll also be around on Twitch today talking about memories with y'all.
Stay awesome,
Robert and the HearthPwn Staff
PS. Myself and the moderation team will all still be around until the end. Expect to see continued coverage of the remaining adventure chapters and more. Thank you.
PPS. We still need to declare a winner in our last ever class creation competition.
An update I'd like to add from the MTG Salvation shut down message. Like them, we are also continuing with another project. You may find the old team on Out of Cards.
Quote from Feyd_RuinThe answer to the inevitable question of why is complex, but deserves a response. Our owners have expanded on to other projects, launching such epic endeavors as D&D Beyond. As these have taken off, the development team has shifted focus and simply does not have the time and resources for us that we require. They can simply no longer justify the development, infrastructure, and maintenance costs of the site compared to their other projects.

A February comment on a diablo forum.
This is misleading information. Hearthpwn (property of the same owners) is doing strong and will continue to receive fan attention as long as HS does.
Diablofans on the other side won't have much Diablo related content due to D3 being in a maintenance mode. While such website could very well be run with little costs while gaining revenue, the current owners just do not want to bother with trifles. This however opens up possibilities for new projects to come on its place.
Rushter was right
God dame it you sons of a biches , ..........Farewell
Wow.. Can't imagine what you all are feeling..
Thanks for everything!
Never mind, everyone, go to:

This is Hearthpwn's succesor Curse don't want us to know
I'm so sad. Been visiting this site on a regular basis for four and a half year. Basically from the time I discovered it. Great site and all of you who worked with this site should be proud of your work.
Well that was kinda out of the blue... Sad to see this place go, atm there's not really any other HS community that could compare to Hearthpwn, so I really hope that some other actor will pick up the slack.
www.outof.cards that is from the same people as Hearthstone but without curses influence. Not yet fully on hearthpwn level, but shouldn't be long
For christ sake.
First diablofans and now this? I want to cry :(
What about secret site achievements?? Are you going to say, at least the last minute, how to achieve them??
I can give you a deck to achieve them if you wish
Oh! All of them are for deckbuilding? In that case could be nice if you share with me that :P
When I started my HS the first time (April 30th, 2016), Hearthpwn was my first site to find my first Decks to climb (July 7th 2016). And wow I reached Rank 15 were I feel so good :D
And now it closed :( Thank you for all your work on this side.
Don't forget, the taverns are allways open for you :)
BYEEE ^^
PS: May is a Pandoras Box in the HS history O.O
There are only a handful of sites I check on the daily, if you discount social media sites like Twitter, then this is the only actual site I check daily and has been my main source of HS decks since I started playing the game over 3 years ago now, I wish I could know why this is happening, but anyways thanks for the long run and all the good memories!
Some more information on www.outof.cards
Fantastic site, you all will be missed. Thank you for the great content, resources and memories. I'm actually really bummed at this, Hearthstone is one of my favorite games lately, and this site seemed super active, but I understand there is a human element behind the scenes. In any case, wish you all well on your next steps, and again, thank you.
BRAZIL, I'M DEVASTATED.
Thank you guys for all the journey I was allowed to walk with you. This content has made me a better player and will be always missed by me everytime I need to search for a new deck or some HS news.
I hope ya'll continue to be as cool as you've been for our communit.
Thank you for all the work, the joy and guidance through these years.
See ya in the tavern.
Wtf, why?!? Where do we go now? This website was the best source for everything fun about HS! Can anyone mention another great HS community please? Idk where to go from here on :(
What!? But why???
welp :(
what will be the alternative site guys? Hearthstonetopdecks is okay for guides but the community there is non existent when compared to this site :(

I'm really sad to hear this, but thanks a lot for all the content you guys provided - making sure people like me are updated on the latest card reveal and events. I wonder where I can get the same quality of updates, surely not on Blizzards own site.
