Internecia posted a message on Quest for Packs winners?Posted in: General DiscussionThat is very true. You are actually suppose to report your tips if you are say a pizza delivery driver but I don't know of anyone who ever does that. If it is cash and it goes straight to their pocket I do not blame them one bit for not claiming it. -

MattMurdock77 posted a message on Why I cannot climb the ladder?Posted in: General DiscussionIt happened many times but I always had the firm idea that was just the RNG, now I feel that any of my decks can make it
There is no true RNG in this game. Everything has increased or decreased probability. The behind the scenes is out of whack right now. -

MattMurdock77 posted a message on Why I cannot climb the ladder?Posted in: General DiscussionI’ve never encountered this. I’ve always thought draw and matchmaking was manipulated behind the scenes, but it seems way more prominent now. I believe nerfing behind the scenes makes sense, but it seems like things are way wonkier than usual.

IDBY posted a message on Perfect meta?Posted in: General DiscussionThere is no such thing as a perfect meta to the entire community.
The name of the game should be changed to Saltstone. No matter what Blizzard does, there will always be a large segment that isnt happy. Why you may ask? Because people think they want perfect parity. Never mind that this would be as boring as hell. If there is one deck they cant win against its the games fault and not the feeble skills of the player. After all they got the "cant lose" deck from the internet. They have seen some pro play it and win a few games on Youtube. Its this one deck they cant win against that is the source of all the problems on earth.
This isnt just this meta, its every meta. Blizzard nerfs cards and while they get rid of the top deck at the time, its inevitable that another deck will take its place. Rinse and repeat the salt appears. After all they spent money! They deserve perfection!

I would have thought the same if it weren't for the emotes. He kept them up for a solid 5 minutes. Literally almost long enough for me to download and install a video capture program. Not to mention, I logged out and back in 3 times ... was still there.Yeah the emotes were because he was playing cards and probably bming you in some ways that you couldnt see. You just saw that card, the timer was stucked while he kept seeing stuffs normally and playing. To his eyes you were the one skipping and roping turns.
It already happened to me several times, it is a bit annoying because you just have to end the match and in some cases restart the app -

doki1889 posted a message on Thoughts on why you should NOT be worried about Cubelock imho.Posted in: General DiscussionQuote from zzAMBIENzz >>People need something to cry about constantly. Now since they got what they desired from Blizz with Raza and Patches nerf they will need another victim. So in the next year or so you can expect warlock nerfs thats for sure. The problem is that majority of players wont consider playing something like exodia mage or some similar bullshit because its complex and you realy need to wigle your ass untill you get your combo in order to survive. It's interesting how 2 decks that everyon have in mind are 2 decks that are feasiest to play! Big priest and tempo mage, LIKE WHAT THE FUCK, 4 year olds could just click the cards with those decks and win from time to time! Were is the fun in that? So my point is eventualy, when anything gets strong enough that in order to win against it you have to consider 'Harder' decks, community will start crying and eventualy Blizz will respond. That way you can be certan every single powerfull and interesting thing will get fucked. So yeah i am sorry about Warlocks this time. This is an interesting deck they have that will be fucked in some future.
LMAO dude, you are gonna cry for easy decks, and then compare them to "exodia" mage, which is one of the stupidest decks to play. You can tell yourself that exodia mage is hard to play to comfort yourself from guilt, but dont go spreading that stuff around in these forums. That deck is all about finding ice blocks through rng cards and then "someday ill be just like you"x4 and HAHA!HAHA!HAHA!HAHA!HAHA!HAHA!HAHA!HAHA!HAHA!HAHA!Well Played! You can tell yourself that exodia mage is hard to play to comfort yourself from guilt, but dont go spreading that stuff around in these forums.
Exodia Mage is what you make of it. It can be entirely mindless, or very skillful. But if you honestly think it's just about finding as many Ice Blocks as you can, you have never played it, or at least never played it right.
First of all, I would rather have freeze effects than Ice Blocks. The most satisfying matches with Exodia are when you never need your Ice Block.
I understand the frustration with Exodia, but I don't understand the hate. It's a control deck ... the only thing is, it has a guaranteed win condition, assuming you can control your opponent long enough to draw your combo pieces. Which, by the way, is where the "skill" comes in ... you have to survive long enough to (usually) draw all but a few of your cards, and you have to do that with very limited abilities. You also have to manage your hand. The later you get in the game, the harder that becomes. -

TanookiJack posted a message on Dust to put to use.Posted in: General DiscussionArfus is just badly costed and N'zoth cycling may mean deathrattle being weak in general for a while.
Singleton is getting weaker with the rotation/raza nerf so countering it with darkness makes less sense.
Yip is OK if you're gonna make a wokecleaver deck like Disguised Toast.
I'm saving it for next expansion.

Scorpyon posted a message on 10.5 hours .... and the upcoming changes to ladderPosted in: General DiscussionQuote from zzAMBIENzz >>So you have a cold wet day, and nothing else to do ... why not pull a Hearthstone marathon?
In an effort to keep this a little short, I won't give the full play-by-play ... but what ensued was a 10.5 hour grind from Rank 20 to 15. What surprised me (and concerns me) is that is wasn't an exceptionally "bad" run. My overall win rate was 54%, my win rate with the deck I was playing as a "main" (Rin Warlock) had a 60% win rate. I did play a handful of other games with Mage, switching between Exodia (which is my go-to deck to decompress to avoid tilting), and a homebrew N'Zoth Mage. (And to be fair, it's not 100% homebrew ... I have seem Kibler playing around with it, and it was originally conceived by a player named TicTac) ... but its off-meta at least.
But, the concern comes from the time it took, and the win rates. 60% with Controlock, 50% with Exodia, and 51% with TicTac's list. Every deck played had a positive win rate. But, the killer was the lack of win streaks. Looking back I had one 4 game streak, and one 3 game ... and that was it. Everything else was win a couple, lose a couple, win 1, lose 1. I also had a 5 game lose streak in there.
When the new ladder changes come, and we go to 5 stars for every rank, even this marathon would not ave advanced me the single rung it did. I think they should look at reworking the win streak bonus as well, and/or the effect a single loss has.
As it stands, we have to get 3 wins to get the bonus star, but only 1 loss to reset the streak. I think at the least, the two should be the same. Require 2 losses before the streak bonus is lost. Or, for a complete revamp, go to 1 win, 1 star, 2 wins, 2 stars, 3+ wins, 3 stars. And do the same for losses. More reward, more risk.
I know I am going to get some "Git Gud" responses ... and they are justified. I lost several games from really bad misplays ... but is it really necessary to play perfect (or near perfect) to advance?
Your thoughts? Any suggestions? Similar experiences?Git gud! (I am so original!) Heheh!
But seriously, I know what you mean, man. I have found myself feeling less inclined to play as much this month. It has become a really annoying grind to get anywhere since the new expansion and when the nerfs hit, it will become even worse than before. The only thing I can suggest (if yuo want to save yourself "some" of the effort), is to try using something fast like Aggro Hunter or Murloc Paladin. The win rate (for paladin) that I'm getting at the moment is around 65% or so, and the matches are over quicker. If I know I am beat (and I know there's nothing in my deck that can change my fate), sometimes it's more efficient to concede and move on quickly to the next game to keep pushing. The 1 loss = end of your streak is definitely frustrating, because when it happens on 5 stars, it means you went from one game away from the next rank to probably 3. And yeah, that's annoying and I would like the suggestion that the streak doesn't end for just one match - but I suppose that's the whole point of a win streak, I guess - it's meant to be hard to keep going and one loss costs you. It's frustrating, but I believe it's probably fair this way. It's even more annoying when you get past rank 5 and you just bang your head against a glass ceiling for hours, winning then losing over and over again, getting nowhere.tl;dr - I feel your pain! ;-) -

iandakar posted a message on 10.5 hours .... and the upcoming changes to ladderPosted in: General DiscussionHonestly it's too soon to mess with the streaks. Not to say there's a problem or not but we REALLY need to play with the new system before we judge on it. It is something we should keep in mind though.
So yeah, let's play around with the new system for a few months, see how it works and where it doesn't, then we can go tweaking from there.

Just a thought.
8 mana, Neutral Legendary, 1/6 Taunt.
Destroy your opponent's armor at end of turn.
Your opponent takes two turns.
Extreme, yes. But destroying all armor is pretty extreme as well.

I don't mind the hero power. Yes, it's strong, but it should be. It is the most expensive DK card, so it should be strong. But, the res effect is too OP with the current batch of demons to pull from.
Which leads to the question ... does Gul'Dan need to be nerfed, or the demons? Personally, I would rather they start with changing Doomguard to Rush instead of charge. That change alone would probably be enough to settle down warlocks without destroying them.

One possible change that I believe would be viable, without killing the deck completely would just be to have the minions react to silence and transform effects after the quest.

Oh, and FYI, if you play the Rotten Applebaum in the deck, you blow the final combo. To get the full effect, you want only Abominations to be resurrected.

I see this come up a lot, and I am asking this as a serious question, not as a troll.
What is hard about it?
Generally speaking, I see a few different ways it plays out, presumably depending on the draw.
1. Complete the quest with Elementals. This seems to be catching back on, where in earlier lists, I didn't see it as much. Lately, I have seen more Igneous Elemental showing back up.
2. Play freeze out with Glacial Shard.
3. Sonya and bounce boars.
Complete the quest, wreck the board with the Lifesteal / Rush minions, then smash face with Deckhands, remaining boars, ect while sitting behind 5/5 divine shield taunts.
I mean, the list is pretty simple. There aren't a ton of decisions to make. Pick a minion, draw bouncers, complete quest, profit.
And frankly winning by turn 6/7 doesnt even really require an aggro deck, anything that can curve out (like dragon priest used to) can easily achieve a turn 7 lethal just by playing good cards at each stage of the game.
Sure, most decks, even some control decks can pull off a Turn 6/7 lethal if everything curves out just right. The point missed is the consistency of current aggro decks. Unless they just get the literal worst draw possible, you are not going to survive 6 unanswered turns against a Paladin right now ... or a mage.

This is a tough one to answer. My first inclination is "Yes", because it's only real counter is just Face aggro. The fact that any other deck stands no chance against it unless it just draws horribly is bad.
Plenty of reasons to answer "No" as well. And those reasons are all the other busted decks we have right now. But when you look at those decks, you at least have a shot at controlling them, or tech cards, ect. Quest Rogue is flat out an auto loss if you cannot rush them down before they complete the quest.

It is a problem, especially for F2P players. And it has a fairly simple solution, but one that I doubt Blizzard would ever do. Refund full dust value for the actual nerfed cards, plus an additional 1600 dust.
It may not quite make up for all the dust spent to craft a deck, but it's better than nothing, and may be enough to get a player started on making another deck.
The big problem is that when Blizzard nerfs cards, they tend to not balance them, but kill them (and the deck they were associated with) completely. And we all know the other problem ... when one deck is knocked off the top of the pile, another one just takes its place. For those with a fairly complete collection, there isn't a problem at all, as they will just craft the next top deck, but for a F2P player that spent all their resources on building a deck to be able to compete, having that deck destroyed can be game ending.
