TheImmondBeast posted a message on Hearthstone and ragePosted in: General DiscussionHi there, another "old gamer" here ( 44 years old, gaming since forever ). I think the issue is that in HS RNG>skills, simply as that.
This game is not to be taken seriously, it is just a very light game meant for fun! Have fun and nothing else! :)

These “counters” won’t do anything.

Sherman1986 posted a message on So...is enrage still a thing?Posted in: Standard FormatQuote from zzAMBIENzz >>Quote from Sherman1986 >>Guys, please, the "whenever this minion takes/survives damage" mechanic (from cards like Grim Patron and Rotface) works notable different than enrage:
https://hearthstone.gamepedia.com/Enrage
"Enrage effects become active whenever the minion's current Health is below their current maximum Health. Restoring a minion to full Health will cancel the Enrage. This can occur through healing the minion, or by reducing their maximum Health so that they are no longer considered 'damaged'.
Enrage effects may be active or inactive. While active, their effects are constant, and will not be re-applied by further damaging the minion. De-activating an Enrage effect will immediately cancel its effects.
Enrage effects are sometimes confused with triggered effects which activate on damage, such as that of Gurubashi Berserker or Frothing Berserker. Unlike Enrage effects, these effects can be triggered repeatedly, and will not be removed by healing the minion."
Thank you for the Hearthstone lesson Captain Obvious.
I think most of us knew what you just posted, and pretty sure all but one of us understood why the two effects tend to get lumped together as one. -

ababyduck posted a message on Could the Tavern Brawl have been better?Posted in: General DiscussionI don’t see any reason to give everyone equal footing. That is a brawl and one time free as well. If people decide to dust half their collection it is up to them. At least everyone gets a pack unlike with the heroic brawls.
And i don’t know how anyone could think we would see many creative decks. It should be well known that every meta settles for the successful decks and not for the creative ones (although it is of course possible to have a creative and successful deck). No one wants to play some whacky deck if he pays 150g. Even in casual you see mostly tier 1-3 decks.
My point was that putting everyone on equal footing would lead to more people like me playing it after the free one and giving blizzard my money than there are currently. I wasn't saying it would be a wacky fiesta of never before seen meme decks, I know everyone would just be netdecking the top decks. But it could also convert people to wild and make them actually craft things like anivia if they liked playing the deck for several games for 150 gold. As it stands there's no way in hell I'm committing my dust to a deck that I don't even know if I'd like in a game format that I don't currently play. -

Sinti posted a message on Wild Arena kinda disappointing.Posted in: The ArenaObviously with card pool being twice (or more? too lazy to check that) as big as previously, there will be even more problems to assemble any synergies between cards. I mean that was to be expected, so no surprise there.
Best way to play the Wild arena is the way it has been always played: you either curve out and aggro down your opponent, or you go the other way and clear clear clear until your opponent runs out of cards. Yup, its super fun :)
I was never an advocate for Wild arena to come back and you can clearly see why. I like it as an event, i will take a couple of weeks to change up the experience for a while, but i am so glad it wont stick around for good. Or at least not in a forseeable future.

StackPivot posted a message on PSA: Dont concede!Posted in: General DiscussionSQuote from zzAMBIENzz >>I can't tell you how many times I have had players concede when I am playing Exodia mage, that would have won if they hadn't. If I know I am screwed, I will start to play my Apprentices, and in probably at least 25% of the games, my opponent will concede. In even more games, I may get the quest off,, but not have Antonidas, or not have a spell to start the OTK ... but, I appreciate the free wins, no less.
I concede when I know I have lost, because the extra time to wait for lethal is not worth the very rare occasion when you get a freebie from a DC. However I am also always very careful not to concede to Exodia mage until I have seen all of the combo pieces. Some of us are wise to you! -

Chimera posted a message on Nerf and Buffs Recommendations 2Posted in: General Discussionv) Ultimate Infestation and Jade Idol should be deleted, and their creators tortured and hanged.
This invalidates the whole thread; don't post shit like this, anywhere. Additionally, if you are going to list out things you think should be nerfed consider actually explaining your thoughts, and you could also post in this existing thread.

KnivesOut posted a message on Ladder Deck for a "mixed meta"?Posted in: General DiscussionThe moment you switch to an Aggro deck to counter some of those matchups, you’ll only hit control deck after control deck (at least that’s my case).

I'm with ya .... check my post above this one. SO blatantly obvious, but impossible to prove it.

CONFORMATION BIAS MY ASS
Would have made this a topic itself .. but unless you have a signed deposition from Blizzard stating the obvious is true, I guess posting tin foil hat threads is not allowed.
So far this season I have played 89 games with Quest Priest. I have had EXACTLY ONE mirror match. 88 games ...
Today I get the quest to play overload cards, so I switch to a Shudderwock deck. First match ... Quest priest. Usually a great matchup .. unless Shudderwock buries himself so deep in the deck the priest has time to beat you down. Literally lost with 3 cards left in the deck ..Shudderwock, Healing Rain, and Lifedrinker.
Decide to try out Stan's Even Shaman. Looks like a good deck, and quite frankly I am tired of the long games from Quest Priest. First match .. MIRROR MATCH. In the last 3 days, I have faced 4 shaman, and maybe 1 of them has been Stan's deck.
I am sorry, but matchmaking IS NOT RANDOM. Don't ask me why they would rig it .. BUT THEY DO.
This shit has been this way since the beginning, and honestly, I don't even care that they do it ... it's the fact that it is so damn obvious, but no one will admit it, and every attempt to "prove" it just gets met with the same "Conformation Bias" "Sample Size Too Small" bullshit responses.

Been a really good deck so far. Biggest drawback is the games will often run 20+ minutes, even longer than other control decks I have played.
So far, I am about 60 games with it, with a 62% WR.
Shudderwock Shaman ... forget it. Probably best to just auto concede. Only match I was able to pull off was when I was able to play Benedictus really early, and got enough of the Shudder combo to win with it.
Tempo mage is tough, but winnable. You need to start good, and they need to start slow.
Just destroys Paladins. I honestly think I have won all but 1 matchup against them.
Taunt druid seems to be pretty favored as long as nothing goes weird at the end. Save your Mind Control, steal their cube. You need to be at full health and preferably some armor at this point, because you are going to take a full board to the face on that turn. The games I have lost were usually because they had an Anti-Magic shield to buff on that turn.
Secret Hunter can be problematic once they get DK Rex going.
Overall, its a very effective deck. I find it "fun" (but I like control). If you don't like long games, you will hate it. Have had some really fun wins with Benedictus. There is something satisfying when you beat someone with their own tools.
Oh .. and mirror matches. You should probably pack a light lunch, and maybe a snack. Only had one so far .. but it was the longest game I have ever played ... 43 turns, 52 minutes long :-)

You get stomped by a MURLOC MAGE! ?
What other interesting decks have you seen since the meta shift?

Why should (or would) Blizzard do anything to prevent snipers?
If you don't want to be sniped,
(a), don't choose to make your living playing a game on a live stream
(b) use the tools provided by Twitch (delay, ect) to deal with the problem yourself
Blizzard has ZERO responsibility in this. If any third party does, it would be Twitch. But the main responsibility lies with the streamer.

My first impression is too many high cost cards for a typical Miracle deck.
Edwin is usually only a threat if you get him out early, and big. Anything past turn 3, and your opponent is likely going to have removal or silence waiting.
From my experience, most of my losses to Miracle Rogue have come from Leeroy / Cold Blood, and Eviscerate's, while using spiders to soften me up enough to eventually burst me down. I think you definitely should try to get Leeroy and Cold Bloods into the list somewhere for the deck to have a chance at being effective.

Voidlord's are a pain in the ass, but they rarely beat you. Having 2 or 3 or more 5/7 chargers coming at you at once ... gets ya every time

school let out ... I guess this was expected

I cut Dragoncaller a while back. I just never seemed to get value out of her. Either by that point in the game, I had it won already, and it maybe forced a concede, or, it just got wiped one way or the other.
Now ... here me out here :-)
Try running The Darkness. You can thank me later.
It wrecks spiteful decks with the candles.
It gives your Raven Familiar better odds of winning the joust.
It gives you a solid finisher.
I actually put it in my deck as kind of a meme, and I can tell you it has won me more games than Allana ever did
